How do I restore my music to my iphone5

How do i restore my music to my iphone 5c. i had to restore my phone and everything else restored.

Hi sallysrm,
If you have recently restored your iPhone, you should be able to sync your music back to your iPhone from iTunes, as outlined in the following article:

Restore the music you imported from cd's?  You don't.  It will only be where you put it.

  • How can I restore the music that was on my iPod to my computer or another iPod?

My iPod classic has failed with an HDD error. I've tried recover mode and everything, it's goosed. Half my music was only on the iPod, a collection over the years from my various computers, it was backed up using itunes however. How can i restore the music that was on my iPod to my computer or another iPod? (dont have another classic, only shuffle and iphone) I'm guessing itunes holds some kind of virtual image of the ipod classic somewhere. THanks in advance for any info, google didn't produce anything I could use.

That is stealing. Your friend does not have the right to give her music away. Delete them and purchase your own music.

If you reinstalled Windows, it is likely that all your data was lost. If that is the case, you should restore from backup.
If you don't have a backup, but you have an iPod, you can recover from that, see:
    https://discussions.apple.com/message/11857427#11857427
If you are in the US, you can recover purchased tracks from the store using the "Purchased" link in Quick links.
If all your data was not deleted, you will need to explain exactly what remains before help can be given.

how do i restore notes i deleted from iphone5?

Last week, I had serious yahoo mail issues. I'd forgotten that I'd deleted yahoo mail and added it again. Thus turning off notes in the mail settings (notes was not enabled on email). This will save you from buying expensive recovery software that you may only use one time. It will also save you from a long system retore on my iphone which may have cause you to lose unsaved data. This is the easiet way to get your deleted notes compared to the alternatives.
Deleted, lost notes on iphone 5
    On your iPhone:
    1) Settings
    2) Mail, Contacts, Calendars
    3) Gmail>turn Notes On
    4) Then to All of my other email accounts and checked the notes were on. I.e, iCloud, Yahoo, etc.

Did you erase the phone, or merely remove it from Find My Phone? If you merely removed the phone:
If the phone goes online again later (with Find My iPhone turned on), it will automatically reappear in the devices list.

  • How do I restore my music to my iPhone?

Yesterday, I upgraded to IOS 5.  Before I did, I "backed up" my iPhone per instructions.
Now all my music is gone.
    Including my ringtones.
The only instructions in Apple's forums is "hey, don't worry, bud, all of that music you purchased for iTunes is available to you still."
Fat lot of good that does me -- I don't purchase music through iTunes, at least not often.
I had about 100 songs from my own mp3 library plus custom made ringtones.
They were synced off a laptop that died a year ago so that particular set of music is no longer stored on a computer.
How do I get my music back?  Or am I just screwed by Apple's poor instructions and planning and I have to take hours to painstakingly redo everything?

Sorry, you can't. The instructions clearly warned you that this update was an erase & restore. The failure to not properly backup your content rests with you and you alone.

  • I have more than 300 CDs I downloaded into my computer which went to my iTunes library and have purchased hundreds of songs through iTunes store and can no longer access these songs. How can I restore my music so I can play it?

I have more than 300 CDs that I have downloaded to my computer and have purchased hundreds of songs from the iTunes store on my Mac. I cannot play any of this music now. How can I restore my iTunes library? I can see the music files, but they will not play. The message I get is that the file cannot be found. I have stopped purchasing any music from iTunes, and will not do so in the future unless this can be resolved. Why buy music if in the future you can't play it? I have not connected my ipod to my computer for months because of concerns that my music will disappear from there too.

What you see in iTunes is not the music but a pointer to the file that contains the music.  Somehow these pointers have become broken. You may have accidentally deleted the file, or moved a folder, or moved a file, or renamed a folder, or renamed a file, or...  iTunes is very unforgiving of you doing things to the iTunes folder unless you have it set so iTunes does not manage your music for you (in which case you really need to know how iTunes works)
If all your links are broken, or a large number are, then there are various options, none of them easy (unless you're lucky).  One is when it asks you if you want to find the file that you say yes and then guide it to the file (which will probably be in a folder by artist, and then a folder by album name). Gets old fast if you have 300 CDs.  Another is to undo what may have caused the links to become broken, if you can remember what it was that you might have done such as renaming a folder.  Another is to just forget about your old library, ratings, and playlists, etc. and start afresh. Trash the library file in your iTunes folder, start iTunes with a blank library, then drag all your files to the new library.   Another is to restore itunes from a backup you may have made before this happened.
Do you keep just media on an external drive?  If you start iTunes without the external being switched on then it thinks the links are bad.  Quit iTunes and start the external before restarting iTunes.  You may have to scroll down through the tracks to "tickle" them into re-reading the link.
How do you have itunes set in preferences to manage your music?  Have you done any changes to preferences recently, or moving folders, files, etc?  Do you keep iTunes on an internal drive, or external?
In the many years of people complaining about broken links I don't think any way has been developed to mend them automatically.  I saw one attempt to use Spotlight, but it didn't really work.
None of us work for Apple so it's up to you if you won't buy from them until it is fixed. We will try to help you fix it, because we're nice.

  • I have an iPod Classic 5th Gen.  After 1 month I've lost all my music and playlist files.  The only files left are music I have purchased from iTunes.  How do I restore my music library to my iPod?

I have an iPod Classic 5th Generation.  I have not used it for about one month.  When I turned it on, I had lost all my music and playlist files.  The only thing left on the iPod was the music and audio books I have purchased from iTunes store.  I tried to delete everything on the ipod by sliding the hold button and then pressing the center button and the menu and I saw the apple logo on the screen but the iPod wouldn't reboot.  Any suggestions as to how I can delete everything on the iPod and then plug it into my computer to restore my music library?  I am using a Windows 7 operating system.

Does both your Windows and Macbook iTunes have the same library of songs?
if it  does then, much easier to proceed, else try to load the Macbook with the same library as Windows.
Note that only one of the Macbook USB port is good for iPod Classic, the other is too slow and may cause timeout, and I would suggest disconnect all other USB devices, while you Restore or Sync the iPod Classic.
Connect the iPod to the Mac, (if iTunes launch, please close it back.)
Use Disk Utility -> select the iPod Device->First Aid->Repair (use option FAT32)
After the Repair complete, eject the iPod.
    Connect back to the Mac
When iTunes launch, Restore the iPod when Prompted, (use FAT32)
    Sync your library.
    Good Luck!

  • How do I restore apps/music on my iPhone?

I can't figure out how to delete my other question, so sorry to post another one similar. I saved everything to iCloud, had to reset phone and then am trying to restore everything. My contacts came back as well as everything in my Calendar.  For some reason it doesn't copy any of my apps or music/playlists automatically? I see all of my apps in iTunes. How do I get it to my phone from my Macbook? Thanks in advance!

    Hi Icelyn,
As far as iCloud backups go, you should go to Settings>iCloud>Storage & Backup on your device (or devices), and under the Backup section, turn on iCloud backup. With this option turned on, any time your device is plugged in with the "Slide to Unlock" screen displaying, and connected to Wifi, an automatic backup to iCloud will be done. This will happen once a day if those conditions are met. (For example, I plug my phone into an outlet overnight to charge. The Lock Screen, of course, displays after a few minutes. I am always connected to Wifi. So, pretty much every night, my device contents are automatically backed up to iCloud without my having to do anything. (You also have to check the "Automatically Back up to iCloud" button on the profile screen Summary page in iTunes on your Mac).
Rysz indicated how you can see the sidebar again, by clicking on View at the top of the screen, and then clicking on View Sidebar.
If you did back up to your computer before you did the restore, then you can restore to your iTunes backup:
    Restore from Backup
Just skip down to the section that says "Use iTunes".
Also, as you can see from my screen print, you can have your Automatic iCloud backups set up, and you can also back up to your computer. I normally have my Summary screen set to Back up to iCloud, but occasionally, when I hook up my device to iTunes on my Mac for sync purposes, I click the Back up to this Computer button, and back it up to the Mac. Once the backup is complete, I switch it back to Back up to iCloud (since that will create a daily one without my having to do anything).
One last thing I noticed on your Summary screen above. You have "Automatically Sync when this iPhone is connected". I would suggest that you uncheck that option. This allows you to go to initiate the sync when you are ready after hooking up your device to iTunes. Sometimes I want to change a setting on one of the Profile screens (especially Photos and Music), so I don't like any sort of Automatic Sync taking place.
If you have further questions, just post back!
    Cheers,

  • How do I restore my music and playlists from my iPod 4g to my iPod 5g?

I did a "full" backup to my computer of my old iPod, and restored my new iPod from that backup, but my music is completely empty and I don't want to manually put all my music and playlists back together. Help???

FIrst transfer the music from your old iPod to your iTunes by simply syncing it! After that,
How about syncing your new iPod with the 'Sync Music' box checkmarked ?
