How do I restrict calls to only people in contact list?

My daughter has gotten herself into quite a bit of trouble with who she's been talking / texting to and what she's been talking /texting about. She needs to have a phone so I just can't take the iphone 4 away from her. I have already disabled texting and safari, but Is there a way to restrict incoming and outgoing calls to people only listed in her contacts list? And is there a way to lock the contacts list? I could really use some information on this... and quick.
Thanks in advance for any and all help with this matter.

  • How do I restrict calls received to only my contacts

I'm having trouble finding security under options.
Anyone know of a way I can restrict the calls that my iPhone receives to numbers that are only in my contacts list?

Call blocking is a carrier feature. AT&T offers such for an additional monthly fee, but you can't block unlimited numbers. There is no setting on the iPhone to do this. What you could do is assign a specific ringtone to each contact, then make your general ringtone a silent ringtone. The calls will come in, but if not listed in your contact this, your phone won't ring.

I have my new iphone 4, before activating how do i transfer and save details e.g contacts list, from old sim to new mini sim?

Iphone does not save anything to SIM.
Your contacts and calendars should be on your computer (Outlook, Address Book, etc).

  • How to add company name to show up in contact list with person's name on Droid

I just switched from the Blackberry Storm to the Motorola Droid.  Is there a way to have the company name show up in the contact list under the person's name.  I need that for work.  It syncs up with a program called Act by Sage and my storm used to show both.

You can edit your contacts, and list the company name under the organization section. However, it will not show up when they call you. You will only be able to see it in your contact list. Hope this helps!

  • How do I delete a card out of my contact list that was dropped in by Facebook (I assume).  It won't let me delete it in -edit -delete card.  It has Facebook logo on the card. I have the contact in my contact list that entered.  This one appeared.

How do I delete a card from my contact list that was added (I assume) by Facebook? I already have the contact in my contact list.  This card contains all Facebook information for this contact. When I click on Edit, the Facebook logo is by each entry.  It will not allow me to delete it by going to "edit" - "delete card".  Help.

I tried deleting the name in the list and it won't let me - doesn't highlight.  Same under the Edit tab - it won't hilight.  This card is not like the other cards where you can do that.  I believe the contact has a Facebook acct. and I do to.  I didn't - to my knowledge - add this card from there.  I don't know if that is possible.  Bugs me that  Facebook has control over my Contact List or so it seems.  I will see if Facebook can give me any clues.  Thank you.

  • In Safari 5.0.6 how do I turn off the auto save to contact list of addresses I send mail to?t

How do I turn off the auto saving to my contact list of every e-mail address I send a note to?

It might help knowing that Apple uses the term "Versions" instead of AutoSave. I have not yet found how to turn it off, but in the meantime, here's how to delete "Previous Versions":
    Do one of the following:
If you have unsaved changes in a document, choose File > Revert To, and then click Previous Save.
Hold the pointer to the right of the document title, click the downward-facing arrow, and then choose Browse All Versions from the pop-up menu.
Click a gray tick mark along the timeline on the right to display various versions of your document.
    Do one of the following:
To restore your document to the state of a particular version, display that version, and then click Restore.
To delete the displayed older version, hold the pointer to the right of its title, click the downward-facing arrow, and then choose Delete This Version. To delete all older versions, press the Option key while holding the pointer to the right of the older version’s title, click the arrow, and then choose Delete Old Versions.
To create a new untitled document that duplicates a particular version, display the version, press the Option key, and then click “Restore a Copy.”
To leave your document in its current state, click Done.

  • HT4623 How do I remove Facebook friends from my phone contact list?

My Facebook Friends were not in my Contact List because I have that function turned off in the Facebook App.  Out of nowhere, the Facebook Friends are in my contacts and the function is turned off.  How do I get rid of them.  They clutter up my contact list.  I even shut the phone off and turned it back on. HELP!!

I'm sorry...you actually don't need to log out & log back in. Just go to Settings within the FB App & you can change it there.

  • Only one Outlook Contact List will synchronize with iPhone 4

I have two contact lists in Outlook named Contacts and Commercial.  Only the "Contacts" syncs with my iphone 4, leaving me without about 300 of my commercial contacts.
Before 6 months ago both lists appeared in the selected groups section and syching worked as expected, then it suddenly stopped,   As you can see above, none of lists appear in Selected groups now.  Though, Contacts (personal) does sync but not Commercial.  Over the past 6 months I changed to a new Dell M4600 (was M4300) running Win 7 (was XP) and probably loaded a newer version of iTunes along the way.
    Can anyone help me?
    Thanks,
    Chris

  • When can I use iMessage? How do I restrict it to only use iMessage?

I have to pay 30 cents per text, which is a ripoff, and pretty much everyone I know uses an iPhone or iPod touch, so I want to just use iMessage with them. For some reason, though, I can only sometimes send iMessages to iOS users. I can never send them to my friend, who has an iPhone 4 running iOS 5. I can typically send iMessages to my parents but not always, it sometimes only lets me send by paid SMS. They definitely have iMessage enabled. Maybe I'm not choosing the right address to send it to?
So are you supposed to enter someone's phone number, and it'll know whether or not they have iOS and use iMessage if they have it, or do you have to enter their email address that they set as their iMessage address?
Also, is there a way to just force it to only use iMessage? I don't really want to send or receive paid text messages under any circumstance. Come on, 30 cents to send a few bytes is ridiculous.

I tried that, thinking it was exactly what I wanted, but it still sends stuff as SMS (green bubble).

  • How can I restrict Lion to only allow certain network users to login when bound to an Active Directory?

    Hi,
I'm trying to find a way to configure which network users can login to a lab of iMacs running 10.7.4. They're being deployed using DeployStudio, and the Macs are bound to an MS Active Directory by a script that runs as part of the workflow. I'd like to have another script run after the AD binding to permit only users in certain AD groups to be able login to them.
I'm halfway there, in that using dseditgroup I can easily add AD groups or individual users to the relevant group (deseditgroup -o edit -a <domain\\group name> -t group com.apple.loginwindow.netaccounts. After running this I can see the desired groups added to the list in Sys Prefs -> Users & Groups -> Login Options -> Options. However, membership of this group is deemed irrelevant by the fact the radio button above this list for 'Allow these users to log in at login window' is still set to 'All network users' and not 'Only these network users'.
Does anyone know of a way to enable the 'Only these network users' option via the Terminal/a shell script?
    Thanks,
    Chris

  • How can I disable iMessage but only for one contact ?

    Hi,
I'd like to send texts to my friend who owns an iPhone, but not on iMessage.
(That friend owns an iPhone, but can't connect on 3G. So she gets my texts only when she can connect on wi-fi...)

Your friend would have to disable iMessage. As far as your phone is concerned, since you have connected with her via iMessage, it will always try that.

  • How do I delete email addresses not in my contact list?

My phone seems to be storing every email address I send to. When I create a new message and start to type in an address it brings up every email address I have ever sent to including those I only used one time. How do I delete these email addresses and prevent the phone from storing addresses not in my contacts?

I posted something on this a few months ago. Hopefully Apple updates the OS to allow for editing the cache. I have done it in Mail on my mac for years when the list stores old and/or outdated email addresses. It is definitely nice to be able to clean this list up so that A) you don't make mistakes, and B) you don't have to sift through a bunch of useless email addresses in order to get to the one you are looking for.
It is especially annoying when you have an email address that has a mistake in it, such as having one letter off by accident. Then, it is stored forever and you have to avoid choosing it every time you want to send to that recipient.
I really hope Apple fixes this simple issue with an update. One thing that I can't quite figure out is why the iPhone engineers didn't build into the iPhone some of the great features of the Mac. Another example of this is in Contacts. Contacts is like Address Book, but it doesn't quite let you do everything that Address Book Does. Don't get me wrong because it is close. For example, when you want to add a new field, you don't have the same amount of the choices on the iPhone that you have in Address Book. Now why should this be? How hard could it be (and what problems could possibly arise out of) making these the same? What is the point of MobileMe and instant syncing if when creating a new contact on your iPhone, you still have to go into Address Book and add information? Also, why shouldn't you be able to store the same amount of information in your iPhone Contacts that you store in your Macs Address Book?
For a company like Apple who is so detailed oriented to overlook these kinds of details is confusing to me.

  • How do I change country area code on my contact list?

I just moved to Spain and I need to change back and forth the area code. HOwever the way I used to do it has disappeared. Anyone can help? Thanks

I detected your frustration.  Yes this is a user forum as you have stated.  it could be that the absence of dial assist may be at the heart of your problem.  I do not understand why it is not there and I have used my phone in other countries and have not experienced the problem you have.
I did find http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2977 and that might explain things. Also read http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1807
