How do I get google maps app that came installed on phone back after I mistakenly deleted it ? It doesn't show on my apps page since it was preloaded on the phone ? Is there a way to restore it without having to do a complete restore?

Nope. Power cycle the phone first (turn it off, then on) to see if it just needs to be rebooted.
If not, it's not really that big of a deal. Connect to iTunes, let it sync, click the "restore" button and let it restore. When it asks if you want to restore your data back onto the phone, say yes, and when it's done, you'll be right where you are now plus the google map application and all your data.
What gets me is... how do you "accidentally" delete an undeletable system application? The only way I know would be to jailbreak the phone, so, if it is jailbroken, be sure you can get it re-jailbroken, ( and unlocked if necessary) as well before it will be usable for the telephone function.

Where is your backup copy of your computer? You can use that as well.

Purcahses are always tied to the account from which they were purcahsed. You can copy them to your other computers or sync them to your ipods/iphones/ipads

How do you get the maps app to speak turn by turn directions through a car audio system?

When using maps app in route in my car, I get a bluetooth icon at the bottom right of the screen. When I tap on it, there is a choice to either play sound either through the iPhone or through an audio device. If I select audio device it still plays through the iPhone, not the audio device.
The device is connected. My phone calls, music, and siri all work fine with it.

I know how important it is to identify missed calls. Unfortunately, when a call is not answered a connection is not made with our towers. Which means we would not have any record of an unanswered call. I would definitely encourage you to implement of budone's suggestions until you are able to replace your phone. The backup that itunes makes when syncing does not include music or apps. This is one of the many reason that you should always maintain a backup copy of your computer.

I want to remove my previous logins from the Google Maps app. I tried deleting it and then re-downloading it from the app store but the app shows with the iCloud logo and when I download it to my iPhone, it still shows my previous logins. There must be some way to permanently delete it?

There's no logout button. One can choose "Use Google Maps without a Google account" but not the logout:

But it still remembers my account whatever I choose.
The reason I'm thinking that the logins are stored on the phone is because I just restored my data to a brand new iPhone and Google Maps app did not have any of my login data. It has it now only after I logged in with the wrong account (by mistake.)

i have ipad 4th gen and ipad original ... using both in Bogota Colombia thru the Colombian Apple Store. I have the map app in spanish on the ipad original but cannot change the ipad 4 map app to show the streets (calles), avenues (carreras / avenidas) in spanish ... such as Calle 100 .. or Avenida Suba, etc.
i have changed "always english" to off, changed the overall language to Spanish, rebooted, etc, etc ... but to no avail.

@Peizoandme ... that i have done and that results in changing the tag info language ... direction -> direccion but the map itself does not change ... shows the street name as Street 100 rather than Calle 100 ... what this all causes is when trying to establish routes from home to pin drop for example, message is cannot find. So, still stumped. Thanks for the reply though.

How to bring up native map app on iphone 5 through navigateToUrl

Hi All,
One of our existing ios Application (FB 4.6 with Air 3.1) using navigateToUrl("https://maps.google.com/maps?saddr=Current+Location&daddr=xxxx") to bring up the native map apps to show the route between user current location and destination address.
It works perfectly on iphone 4s below, However, this is not the case any more on iphone 5.
Is there any work around for this? Or what should be right Url to pass in navigateToUrl to get iphone 5 native map app working.

Thanks. Seems like this cropped up after the iOS 6 upgrade. Too bad Apple doesn't quality control their software before release. Something like alarm sounds is a pretty big oversight, kind of like maps. Your solution is right on the money even if it is a very roundabout way of getting to the desired result. A simple software fix would be to offer a sounds/vibrate option for ringtones, reminders, and alarms at the "settings" level. Other than oversight, I cant think of an ulterior motive for having it buried in ringtones. Thanks again for the fix!
