How do I retrieve my calendar from time capsule. I inadvertently deleted it through icloud.

I had changed my Apple password which prompted icloud to ask for it. I entered the new password then got a message from icloud with two choices. I obviously picked the wrong one because it deleted all entries from my calendar. Now I need to get the calendar back intact but don't want to take any chances with the copy on my time capsule. So, I need help going through the steps to bring the calendar back from the time capsule at about 3:00PM yesterday. Thank you.
I have tried going to time capsule, mac hd, my user account and then the library folder but after that I do not see calendar.

Restore the backup when given the option during the iPhone setup process.  If your phone is already set up, go to Settings>General>Reset, tap Erase All Content and Settings, go through the setup screens on the phone and when given the option, choose Restore from iCloud Backup.
Be sure your phone is connected to wifi and your charger as this will take some time to finish.

How do I remove a backup from Time Capsule? It is taking up 250 GB on the capsule and I wish to remove it.
I do not wish to erase the Time capsule since I have another backup on there I wish to keep.

Then you use the TM application to manage the backups. See:

  • How do you retrieve individual files from Time Machine?

If a file original is lost or becomes corrupted, is there anyway to retrieve that individual files from Time Machine? If so, how?

Time Machine finds that file, and not other files that meet the criteria. BUT...
That's not what TM was doing. My search criteria was "by filename", however when I try to go backwards in TM, that limit is lost and it appears to be returning every file in the rolled-up weekly archive. This is especially odd, because I have since determined that the file was actually corrupted before TM was running, so there should be only one version of the file in TM's archives.
No, it was a file sitting on my disk. Email was mentioned, because the fact that every email in every junk folder appears as a separate item to be restored, which is what triggers that little "too many files to show you at one time" issue.
So your name search returned lots of junk mail items. I shudder to think what the file name was that you were searching for! <g>
Also: you can tell Time Machine to ignore your junk mail if you've filtered the junk mail in Mail into a different folder/box.
I figured that one out. I had used Spotlight to find the junk mailboxes, but couldn't, only the messages "labeled" junk. I had to use 'find' in Terminal.app to actually find Mail's junk & spam folders.
Yeah, it's hard to find stuff when you don't know where it is <g>. In general, though, for these kinds of things, always think: "Library" which is where SO many pieces of programs are stored. Of course, there's lots of Library folders, so your first job is to decide: system or user level? Realizing more than one user account could have email setups, you can assume the path you need starts at the User level. So, you start at Home[UserName]/Library. Scanning that Library folder, you see a Mail folder (aha!). Checking out that folder, you might first suspect the Mailboxes subfolder, but you'll soon see that it has the mailboxes you've defined for sorting your mail; so, you continue to scan the Mail folder and you see a folder with your email address on it (or multiple folders, one for each of your emails). Open one of those and, ta da! You see something labeled junk.mbox.
You've already found your Junk mail, of course, but I'm suggesting this as a general approach, especially for other readers of this thread, who might not want to touch Terminal.
But, back to one of your initial problems: TM seemed to lose your search criteria. Do you think it was related to the high number of " hits"? Does it work for you otherwise, when you search for something less general?

  • How do I retrieve iphoto library from Time Machine when the Mac doesn't have enough memory

Is there a way to retrieve (or view) specific photos from iphoto library when it resides in Time Machine? The iphoto library file is much bigger than the free space available on the Mac; erasing unneeded files may not free up enough space if the library must be restored as one entire transfer. It would be easier if I could restore only pieces of it. Is there a way to do this?

Not from Time Machine which is backing up only a file, not its individual contents. Either you restore iPhoto Library or not.
Freeing Up Space on The Hard Drive
      1. See Lion/Mountain Lion/Mavericks' Storage Display.
      2. You can remove data from your Home folder except for the /Home/Library/ folder.
      3. Visit The XLab FAQs and read the FAQ on freeing up space on your hard drive.
      4. Get an external hard drive on which to store some of your files after which you can
erase the data from your internal drive to free up space.
      5. Also see Freeing space on your Mac OS X startup disk.
      6. See Where did my Disk Space go?.
      7. See The Storage Display.
You must Empty the Trash in order to recover the space they occupied on the hard drive.
You should consider replacing the drive with a larger one. Check out OWC for drives, tutorials, and toolkits.
Try using OmniDiskSweeper 1.8 or GrandPerspective to search your drive for large files and where they are located.

  • How to manually retrieve mail messages from time machine in Lion?

I just did a clean reinstall on Lion and want to import things from time machine piecemeal.  As far as I know, in order to access the mail documents on the computer's hard drive, in the Finder I need to go to Go-->Go to Folder... and then type ~/Library.  Then I have access to the "Mail" folder with the data.  How can I access this folder that's on my external harddrive?  I don't have the "Go" function and I don't know how to get there manually.  My hidden files are shown.

The best way to restore mails is to use Time Machine.
    1. Open System Preferences > Time Machine > Select Disk, select the external disk and see > http://pondini.org/TM/E3.html
    2. Open Mail and open Time Machine. Navigate and restore the mails you want

  • Retrieving iCal data from Time Capsule back up

My system crashed and onfortunatly i had to install a new system. Now i want my 'old' data back in iCal. What do i need to get back from my Time Capsule back up to get the data back in my iCal???
I already retrieved users -> myname -> library -> calendars but this has no effect at all.
    plsssssssssssss help me

    Hi,
    Welcome to Apple Discussions.
    Try this:
Make a copy of the ~/Library/Calendars folder from your backup and put it on your Desktop.
Rename the folder 'Old.icbu' (without the quotes).
There will probably be a dialog confirming that you want to make this name change.
It should now look like an iCal backup file (which is actually a package).
Double click 'Old.icbu' on the Desktop.
(Hopefully) iCal will open and confirm that you want to revert all your calendars to this version.
Let me know how it goes.
    Best wishes
    John M

  • Retrieval of data from time capsule

My MacBook Pro was declared dead yesterday. I bought a MacBook Air to replace it.
I paid to have data transfer from my time capsule. We are two using it. I got home and found out my data was not on the MacBook Air.
    I need to:
    (1) delete the data that is not mine
    (2) retrieve my data from the time capsule.
Since my MacBook Pro was dying/ corrupted for over a week, I was informed that some of the backup is partial. I need to go back to the last complete backup.
Your help in explaining how to (1) delete and (2) retrieve the data would be greatly appreciated.

I'm nohow a expert on TimeCapsule, however Pondini is and this is his site...

If for some reason you can't get your data off via that means, there ARE more brutal options available and I've covered them here

How do you eliminate older backup copies from a older model of time capsule?

You shouldn't have to.  Time Machine will delete them automatically when it needs room for new ones.  If you're running Leopard, though, and have the Warn when old backups are deleted box checked in Time Machine Preferences > Options, it won't.  Just remove the check and run a backup.
If you have other data on the TC's internal HD, that's going to cause trouble sooner or later.  See #Q3 in Using Time Machine with a Time Capsule for some possible workarounds.
If you still want to delete individual backups, or all backups of selected items, do not use the Finder.  See #12 in Time Machine - Frequently Asked Questions, and note the pink box there.

  • Can I retrieve partial information from time capsule?

I have a new hard drive I want to install that already has some files on it that I want to keep.  When I tap into time capsule can I retrieve selected information?  I don't wnat to lose the files on the new hard drive but need to restore my computer information from the old hard drive.  Thanks in advance...

It is a bit hard to follow what you are attempting..
Is the new hard drive going to be a boot drive.. if so it needs wiping.. if not then you should be able to restore info to it.. as long as it already has the right format.
    http://pondini.org/TM/15.html
But you will need to give a lot more info for us to understand..
Hard disks are cheap btw.. buy more.. do not mess with files you want to keep.. as you are just as likely to wipe them in the process of doing what you want. Just get another drive. And another.. it is like there is a never ending requirement for hard disks.
If there is any info you ever think is important.. NEVER NEVER have it on only one hard disk.. you are one second from complete disaster.

  • How can I restore 1 picture from time capsule

I am trying to import 1 picture from my time capsule backup. It only allows me to do 1.

The process is a bit different if you are rerring to an image in iPhoto.
If that is is the case, make sure Time Machine is closed.
From the dock, open iPhoto as you normally would
From the iPhoto File menu at the upper left hand corner of the screen. select Browse Backups
Using the scale at the right of the Time Machine window, go back to a date when you know that you had the impage on your computer
Navigate using Events or Photos to locate your image
Click Restore at the bottom of the Time Machine window to restore your image
    Close Time Machine

  • How can I recover my data from time capsule?

Is it possible by means of FTP to replace the existing content by the back up data on the time capsule? Had to repartition my hard disc. Now I cannot access my backup. I am unable to reach my data on the time machine. But I can see the file of 75 GB on my finder under release on the left side. In FTP I tried to move the old content of my hard disc and replace it by the time machine icon. The response was that it cannot scan the icon. What can I do?

locate the files in time machine and click on restore. it will then restore them back to your hard drive,
