How do I retrieve previously purchased music from iTunes and import it to a new computer?

I had a HP computer and purchased a substancial amount of music off of iTunes on it. That computer has crashed and I have replaced it with a MacBook Air. I can see all of my past purchases on my iTunes account but How do I get that music onto my new computer?

When you download something from the iCloud, it is a brand new licensed copy. Your iCloud account just contains a notation that you have this app. It isn't storing an actual copy of the app from your Mac.

Go to the Store menu item on the menu bar, and choose Authorize This Computer, as shown below.
If by any chance you don't see the menu bar (File, Edit, View, Controls, Store, Help), first enable it by using CTRL+B.

Hmmm. There's a couple of things that might be going on with that one.
Let's try an uninstall and reinstall of QuickTime first.
If you're using XP, head into your Add or Remove Programs control panel. Select "QuickTime", click "Change" and then click "Remove".
If you're using & or Vista, head into your Uninstall a program control panel, select QuickTime, and then click "Uninstall".
You can get QuickTime back either via Apple Software Update (in your Start menu go "All Programs > Apple Software Update" ... QuickTime should appear in the "New Programs" section), or by downloading a QuickTimeInstaller.exe from the following location:

Are you sure your computer is authorized for this? This is probably your issue.
If you go to the "Advanced" tab on the top in iTunes, is there a "Deauthorize computer..." button or an "Authorize computer..." button? If there's an "authorize computer" link, then that is your issue. Authorize your computer, and you should be able to transfer iTMS purchased songs from iTunes to iPod.

If you are not finding your purchased music in Purchases, it may be that the music is hidden. Follow the steps below in iTunes on your computer to check if it is hidden and unhide it:
To unhide your purchases
Open iTunes on your Mac or PC.
If you're not already signed in, choose Store > Sign in.
Choose Store > View My Account. (You may be asked to enter your password again).
On your Account Information summary, scroll down to the "iTunes in the Cloud" section and click Manage.
Choose a content type by clicking Music, TV shows, Apps, or Books from the top.
Click the Unhide button next to the item you would like to restore.
Note: If the item you are unhiding is not already downloaded on your computer locally, it will begin downloading automatically.

I had to make a new user account in my computer but I had accidentally deleted all my purchased music and videos. I know I can get it back by going to the purchased list on the itunes store, but somehow nothing that I have purchased or downloaded appears there, Not even the Apps I have recently downloaded from my iTouch. I have retrieved my music before so I don't know if there is a limit to how many times you can retrieve your music. Can someone please help me?
