How do I return to my email folder when I close an email

Currently when I close a message I've been reading, the next message opens. I want instead to return to my email folder when I close an open email. How do I make this happen?

Well, I'm note sure what you mean by "close a message" since ther really isn't a control for that, but assume you are tapping the up adn down navigation buttons.
To see the email list, tap the mailbox button (upper left), or if you view mail in landscape mode, the mail box lists is automatically always visible.

Since I've upgraded to Mavericks, my apps always go back to the top level when I open a document. For example, let's say I want to open a document called SAMPLE FILE. I go to the file menu, select OPEN and then navigate thru the directory to find the file I want...

Now I want to open a second file - I go to the file menu, select OPEN and instead of returning to the "Documents" folder where my SAMPLE FILE was just found - it puts me back at the top of the directory...

In my previous system configurations (going back as far as I remember) - the default was to return to the same folder. Or maybe I always set the preferences that way - I honestly don't remember. But now I've searched all over for it and can't find it. Anyone know where to find it? Or has it been eliminated in Mavericks? I can't imagine Apple would do that.

My actual problem description as the following
I have a form for production order screen , and this form contain header and details blocks , so the user in the details will select Type Code , and he will go the next field that is Item Code Field search for specific Item Code if it is not exist he has to call the Item Definition Form by using this script

Then when he finished defining the Item , and I assign the item code as the following in the :
WHEN-BUTTON-PRESSED TRIGGER

But I don't know where to keep this assignment
:ITEM_CODE := :GLOBAL.ITEM_CODE_VAR;
inside the caller form in which trigger do I have to use when it return from the caller form it should assign the :GLOBAL.ITEM_CODE_VAR to the :ITEM_CODE and the cursor it should show inside the ITEM_CODE , and as I mention it does not return to the same location of The ITEM_CODE when it return from the calling form

Dear all, first of all thanks for your support.
Please don’t hit me but I am currently a BlackBerry user, since this is the standard I got from the company I work for.
That said, new server technologies allows now to use also other devices with the same company server, something that gives me the chance to switch to an iPhone.
Basically it’s all ready for the switch, but just one thing holds me from making the step.
It’s the email messages filing procedure.
With the iPhone, assuming I am not missing something (something that I hope), when you want to file an email in one of your folders you select the “file” function and then you scroll with your finger across the folders list you have in your email account.
This is all right if you have an handful of folders, but if you have hundreds, if not thousands, of folders it will take forever to find the one you’re looking for.
With a BlackBerry, once you selected the email messages you’d like to file, and after you selected the “file” function, you can also scroll, but – very important for me – I can also start typing the initial letters of the folder I’m looking for. The more I type the less folders will appear, as less folders will match with letters I typed. Once the list is short enough to easily see the folder you want (usually after you typed two or three letters, which takes no more than a second), you can pick the folder you wanted in a blink of an eye.
This makes email messages filing a very fast operation, and since I use this for my job I can’t live without email filing.
If someone of you knows how to perform the same with an iPhone, and possibly with the original apple mail software, I will very glad to make the switch.

How do I return to recent email after doing a search?

How do I quickly return to recent mail again after doing a search in Mail?
After I look at an old email I've found and click the "x" next to the search entry field to clear it, I'm returned back to the entire mail box at the point in time of that found email. I then have to scroll all the way to the top to see my recent email. And it could be a loooooong way up.
Is there a quick way to get back to the top? Problem is the same on iPad, too.

How do you return to the current menu when playing dvd?

Hello everyone,
I am authoring a dvd that has 3 submenus with several chapters in each. How do I set it up so that if I am watching a chapter in submenu 3, I will return to it if I end it or hit "menu". Right now it keeps defaulting back to the main menu, and I have to navigate to the 2nd or 3rd, depending on what I want to watch.
Is there a way to do this? I can't seem to find it in the manual.

A few approaches, one way is to set a variable to keep trakc of which menu you are on, then set the menu command for the track to a script

You would set the menu command to the same as the end jump.
There are also other ways, but that will work. Another way is to set the menu command action for the chapter markers themselves. Also note that you may want to consider what you want the menu command to do If you play through the first ten markers (let's say) marker 11 may be on the 2nd selection menu, and you will probably want people to go there. In that case bypass the scripts and just set the menu jumps in the connection tab

How do I control what "drive and folder" when loading Creative Cloud

MY SDD Boot Drive is parsed very tightly, I need to Load the Creative Cloud and the MANY apps of my plan to load to and work from my F: drive.

How do I disable automatically creating a folder when I drop a file in a folder?

I've done this before, but I forgot what I did.
When I drop a song in a folder, it automatically creates a subfolder with the other artist's songs. I don't want that. I want all of my songs in one folder without sub folders.
It's really bugging me. Please let me know if you need additional information.
Please help.

Personally, I'd do this by using an image as the zoom source. Then insert the highlight box object to dim the slide and insert the image again as just an image positioned where the zoom stopped and above the Highlight Box layer.

How to delete originnal Personal Address Book folder when importing address boook from another PC?

When importing an address book file into Thunderbird the original Personal Address Book remains as the default even though it's empty. Is there a way to delete this empty 'Personal Address Book'? Thanks .. Andy TB version 24.3.0

For some reason, ctrl+a didn't move the whole list. I had to move them one at a time. Is it so hard to let the user delete the Personal Address Book default and replace it with an address book of their choice?

How do I make an automator sequence run when I close an application?

I have searched all over google, youtube, and the discussion boards but no one seems to want to do what I'm trying to do.
I want to run a folder action every time I close out an application that imports files while its running. My actions then take those files, move them and create a symlink back to the original location so that next time the app runs, it sees the files like they never moved. I've tried 2 different ideas with varying acceptability.
1. Create a folder action to watch the folder to copy. It got glitchy outside of Automator. I would be okay with this option but it has been acting up.
2. Use the launching of the app to trigger the copying and moving etc. I can make the app icon the icon for my application that includes the moving and creating of the symlink. But it only does the saving when I open the app. So while I'm working on the files, they're not backed up to place until I close the app and reopen it next time.
The catch: the file folder that I want to move files from and create symlink back to is my iMovie Library.
Can anyone give me some ideas about how to work this right? Thank you!

When you do uit the app, the Applescript will continue then run the folder action.
Activate "your app name here"

Why does a song not return to the same place when I close it?

Recently, for some reason, when I have a song open and press 'my songs' (which effectively closes the song) the song doesn't return to its usual location on the screen/folder. Instead it cues to the top left hand corner, and likewise with every other song, the same thing happens.
It's only just started doing this which makes remembering what is where even more difficult.
Any help much appreciated.

Firefox now always stores the old session, and you can access it by going to the History menu and selecting "Restore Previous Session"
If you want Firefox to display the message to save the session, it can be turned back on by changing some preferences.

How to save backup in a target folder

I am trying to figure out how to save a backup to a folder when I backup files like G:/Data Backup instead of creating a folder with a random name. I have a WD My passport portable hard drive using WD smartware. With backups will it save to that target location and replace just files that have changed?

You can't. All you can do is move the top level folder of the save from the root of the drive to somewhere a bit deeper down a file tree, e.g. your G:/Data Backup folder. But what will then happen is the WDSmartware.swstor folder will be created within that folder, and the device and drive sub-folders within that. It's done that way as Smartware is actually designed to work with NAS drives to save backups from multiple devices and multiple drives within those devices. The "random name" you describe isn't actually random, it's the ID of the individual drive(s) within the device you're backing up. For your case you might want to look at the new WD Backup Software, which may meet your needs a little better. I haven't tried it (as I need proper NAS backup, hence use Smartware), but from the description it's better suited to backups onto portable drives like your MP.
