  • How can I reverse the order of podcasts so I can listen in cronological order

How can I reverse the order of podcasts so I can listen in cronological order!

What I did was create a playlist for the podcasts and keep it sorted in reverse date order, which puts the oldest first. To prevent it from automatically playing the next podcast, I actually mark all podcasts as "skip when shuffling", and then play in shuffle mode. I also make sure all my podcasts have a genre of "podcast"; I discovered that if you use media type, the playlist doesn't update correctly on the iPod classic
So, what I've got is a playlist of the form: (play count = 0) and (genre = podcast), sorted in reverse date order.

  • How can I save the order of photos in albums? Even though I have set as album order they revert back

How can I save the order of photos in albums in Elements 11? Even though I have set as album order they revert back to original order.

Could you confirm that when you re-open the sorted album, the display order on the top bar just over the browsing space is still in 'album' order ? That order may have been changed to a date order. For me, I get the order of the last album I opened, not necessarily the 'album' order of the present album.

  • How do I reverse the order in which files appear in Icon View option?

I took a lot of pictures on a trip recently, which I have uploaded to a folder in Finder. When I click on View Options and then Keep Arranged by Date Created, they get rearranged so that the most recent appears at the top, and the first ones taken are at the bottom. How can I reverse this order, so that they appear in chronological order?
    Thanks,
    Richard

    There might be another way.
There are utilities which can batch-rename files, including options that sort by date, begin all the resulting filenames with a common prefix, and then add a sequential "padded" filename suffix. If you then display the resulting collection of files in alphabetical order (as in Finder's Arrange by Name in icon view), they should be sorted chronologically.
I haven't tried any of these, but the site for [A Better Finder Rename|http://www.publicspace.net/ABetterFinderRename/index.html], shareware, states:
"A Better Finder Rename knows how to extract EXIF shooting date and time information from digital camera images and exploit them in creating sequence numbers or adding time and date information to the file name. "
There may be suitable freeware alternatives -search for *file renamer* in [Version Tracker|http://www.versiontracker.com/macosx>.

  • How do I reverse the order of file lists in finder?

When I display a finder page with icons the sort is ascending (A-Z), but when I use the list function it is decending (Z-A).  How do I reverse the list order?

Welcome to Apple Support Communities. We're users here and don't speak for "Apple, Inc."
In Finder icon view, click the Arrange button and select which column you'd like to sort by.
In Finder list view, click the top header of any column to sort by that column. Clicking the same header again reverses the sort order (and the small 'arrow' at the end of the column name reverses direction too).
And using Finder, View, Customize Toolbar the Finder window toolbar can be customized to display icons only, text only or both, as well as adding additional icons to the default toolbar:

  • Using Acrobat 9.5.5, I scanned a catalog in several segments, to merge later. How do I reverse the order of pages of the back side (odd) pages, and can I renumber each set as even numbers only and odd numbers only?

I scanned a catalog for my archive - double sided pages of course.
It was easy enough to scan the front pages first (odd numbers, 1-3-5) , in several sets of 30 pages, therefore several separate pdfs.
Then I scanned the back side (even numbers 2-4-6) pages but in their natural reverse order, rather than manually reordering all 300 pages.
Now I need to reorder the even pages which are naturally in reverse page number order (300-298-296...)
and I need to renumber all of the pages as only odd or even numbers - set 1: pages 1-3-5-7... Set 2: 2-4-6-8...
Then I can merge everything into one pdf.
How can I reverse the page order?
How can I renumber pages as only even or only odd numbers?
Anyone have these solutions?  I don't use much of acrobats features, but it seems to be a pretty basic demand to be included. I can't find any clue in the software menus or online help.

You can do such ordering with JavaScript. There is a recent post with a JavaScript for dealing with another aspect of page order that might provide what you want. You will have to search the forum for the post that was about 2 or 3 weeks ago as I recall.

  • How do I change the order of photos in ipad albums in ios 8 ?

    Hi
I've just upgraded my ipad mini to IOS 8.1.  I want to create a slideshow in Photo (iPhoto no longer supported) but can't find how to change the order of photos within an album.  Has anyone any suggestions/ideas ?
    Many thanks

Open the album. Tap select. Hold your finger on the photo till it enlarges then slide it to it's new position. Tap done when you're finished.

  • How can I change the order of photos in iPhoto so I can create the slide show I want?

How to change the order of photos in iPhoto on my iPad, so I can create the slide show I want.

Here's what I did to generate a slide show with Ken Burns effect on the iPad...with the exact same slide order I created on the iMac.  I have iOS 5.5 and iPhoto App on New iPad, and iPhoto 11 on iMac.
In iPhoto for the Mac, create a new Album and give it the name of your Slide Show. Drag or import the photos you want into the album.  Rearrange the order of the album photos as desired. Do this by selecting Manual Sort under View/Sort Photos or simply start dragging thumbnails to the places you want them (the sort method will automatically change to Manual).
When you have the order you want, shut down iPhoto on the Mac to make sure iPhoto's database gets updated with the new photos and their order.
Restart iPhoto and go to File/Export on the top menu.  Select File Export at the top left of the Export window. Set JPEG quality to Max, Size to Full Size, and File Name to Album Name and Number.  Set Subfolder Format to None.
Click Export to bring up what looks like the Finder.  Create an empty folder on your hard drive under Pictures and give it the name of your slide show. Click on the new folder and then click OK at the bottom right of the Finder-like window.  The new folder will contain JPEG files with file names in the form, Album Name - 001.jpeg, Album Name - 002.jpeg, etc.  There will also be an iPOD Photo Cache folder.  Click at the top of the Name column to order files by file name.  001 will be your first slide, 002 your second, etc.
Now start up iTunes. You are going to force the Mac to sync these new photos with the iPad.  Click on your iPad device in the list at the left.  Now click on the Photo button at top right. Make sure the Sync Photos check box at top is checked, then select Choose Folder... from the list at right.  In the Finder-like window that opens, select the folder where your slides are.  Make sure that All Folders is checked, then select Open at the bottom right.
Now click Sync at bottom right.  The slides will be copied to your iPad.  Both the Photos app and the iPhoto app will properly handle the slide order, and the Ken Burns effect is available using the iPhoto app.
I ran across this problem in preparing a Ken Burns slide show for a wedding.  Drove me nuts for a week why the order changes when syncing an iPhoto album from iMac to iPad.  But this worked and gave me several options.  I plan to use the digital AV adapter for iPad and show slides on a large screen TV using HDMI connection from iPad to TV.  TV essentially acts as an external monitor for the iPad.
    Hope this helps!

  • How can I change the order of photos within an event?

iPhoto o9 won't let me change the order of photos within a single event- really annoying! I tried to view photos then click manual sort- but when I look back at the event it is not in the right order. what's wrong? Or can I even do this?

Yes you can do that - IF you go through and assign titles to every photo
You also can change the date/time on photo and iPhoto will then sort them in the new order
And you could assign unique key words to each photo such that the sort order is what you want and sort by key word
But you can not change the order in the sense most people mean - grab a photo and move it to a new location in an event
    So yes you are right

  • How can I change the order of photos in my fotostreams?

When selecting photos for a fotostream to share with friends the exported files appear in the order they were taken. If I add more pictures later, they are added at the end of the stream as if they were ne lastest taken pics.
    How can I change that?
Exporting all of them and then creating a new stream brings back the real order, but destroys all comments.

Aperature is the same with PS - PS is PS
Lightroom - has nothing to do with sharing photos in any way - it is a photo manager with no connection to any other Apple products
FLickr and integrated into iPhoto and are easy ways to share photos - SmugMug also is popular
    Google will bring you others

  • How can I keep the order of photos in an album when I upload it to Flickr?

When I share an iPhoto album on Flickr, the order of the photos in my album is lost. Apparently Flickr uses the photo date, but that defeats all the manual arranging I have done in my album. How can I preseve the photo order on upload?
Also, the description of each uploaded photo appears in small print and not in the main Flickr label box. This means the description cannot be seen if a photo is viewed in full screen mode. How can I automatically transfer the iPhoto descriptions to the main Flickr label boxes?
Is there a better way to share iPhoto albums on the Web (Picasso)?

I'm glad you found a solution
For for others and you in the future it is important to understand
Albums are a way to VIEW photos in your desired order within iPhoto - the photos do not have any order (in fact they are in files scattered essentially randomly accross your hard drive)
When you move the out of iPhotoand view them in another program that program determines teh order they are viewed in
An easy to see an example is the finder - files exported from iPhoto and viewed via the finder can be viewed in many different sort orders including name, date created, date modified, size, kind and label - none of these have any relation to the order the photos were in the album UNLESS you cause that to happen (like by exporting using sequential file names so teh finder name sort matched the album order) - the order you see photos in is totally determined by the program you are using to view them - if you understand how it views them then you may be able to export them so that the destination program view martches the iPhoto view
To make suggestions to Apple re exporting to Flickr (or any other outsidside service) -  iPhoto menu ==> provide iPhoto feedback - and to make suggestiont to thrid party suppliers like the Picasa export plugin contact the developer of that plugin

  • How do I determine the order of photos displayed in slideshow?

I'm using my ipod to teach art, using a dlp projector. I've got pictures sorted by topic. But I need to know how to organize the photos to display in the order I want them to. Can you help?

You need to rename your photos using 001.name.jpg, 002, ect.
Your best bet is to open the set of images in your photo editor, like Aperture or Lightroom then sequence them to your liking then export the set of images to a seperate folder numbering them 001 to 999.jpg should be good to go.
Although I would think there must be a better way.

  • How can I control the order of photos in a Ravel slideshow?

I'm using the web version.  After I uploaded my photos, I discovered that Ravel does not display them in alphanumeric file name order.  Instead it appears to order them by file date.  Unfortunately, I have always altered the file name to set up the order of my photos.  In the future, if I use PhotoShop to manually alter the date of the jpeg files, and then upload them, will Ravel "see" the altered date and change the order?  I've used up my upload limit, so I can't just try it and see.
On a slide note, I tried the method of sharing an album on PC as described in the Adobe FAQ, and it worked pretty well.  Two minor things I'd add:  (1) You have to first click the URL field before the copy, and (2) the URL includes two non-functional characters at the end (#!) that can be deleted from the e-mail.

Yes, as you noticed, the only option for Revel is to sort by date.  If you change the date that the photo was taken, it will indeed change the order.  This is something you can also do within the Revel app, though not currently with the web version you are using.
