How do I revert my homescreen back?

I was playing around with my iPod, and checking out how the restrictions settings worked a bit, and managed to hit the don't allow use of the apps. My iPod touch's apps that I had arranged all disappeared. I wondered if it just hid them, but as soon I enabled it back, all of the apps were just alphabatized, one at a time. This isn't the first time this has happened, but definately makes for a very bothersome task of trying to remember were all of them go to place them back. I tried hard resetting in hopes it would somehow revert, or maybe some way I can get iTunes to revert that very select portion, but it won't do it unless I restore it from a backup. Is there another way to revert what this did?

- You do have iTunes version 11 on the computer, right. Saying the latest is not sufficient.
- Have you tried everthing here:
iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows
- You should

• How do I revert OS X back to a time before the last update on 28th June?

Hi.
Last Tuesday, 28th June, I authorised Mac Update to update two things. One was something to do with my Epson printer, and the other was some sort of security update for Mac OS X itself. The update, presumably the latter part, invoked a requirement to restart my Mac.
Since then things have not been good.
I have noticed that the fans in my MacBook Pro are on more or less continuously, even when it is asleep. Prior to last Tuesday they hardly ever ran, even when I was using it. (According to iStat my CPU is currently 76 degrees C, and both fans are running at about 6000 rpm.)
When I try to quit Safari it doesn't quit straight away as it used to. Instead I get the spinning ball for a while and then, after it quits I get a 'Safari quit unexpectedly' report, even though it was I who initiated the quitting...
Several apps have been acting oddly too, such as MS Word taking ages to launch.
So I want to revert my MacBook Pro to how it was prior to this last update. I have Time Machine enabled, but I can't work out how to get the actual OS back to a state it was on a date prior to 28th June. The OS isn't in the Apps folder, and I can't work out where it might be.
Can someone please point me in the right direction, or is this something that Time Machine cannot do?

• How do I revert Safari tabs back to pre-6.0 size?

The new resizable tabs are as ugly as sin. Is there any way to revert them back to a normal, standard size no matter how many tabs are open? Thanks.

At this point, the only path open to you is Apple feedback:
http://www.apple.com/feedback/safari.html
Apple doesn't patrol these forums except for the mods, or "Hosts," whose primary job is to keep the forums above water and break up the occasional flame war.
The feedback link goes to people who have some influence on product development and evolution.

• How do I revert outlined .eps back to normal?

I received an .eps file for a project that has already been outlined. How to I change it back to normal and allow myself to fill with color, etc?

Here is a screen cap. It is a film studio logo that is in 'outline mode'. It's hard to ask proper questions about something I don't understand. I selected it, tried to fill, and it did nothing. I tried to live paint, and it did nothing. I found a search result online that said to get it to this mode, you select Edit>Transparency Flattener Presets>And then you check a box that says convert all text and strokes to outline. I was searching for the reverse solution, but could only come up with that.

• How to I revert DirectX8.1 back to DirectX8.0?

denotator destroyer is a program that baisically "destroys" or uninstalls Nvidia video drivers completely, thus making it efficient to install newer drivers. When you uninstall your forceware or nvidia drivers normally using windows uninstaller, some files are not earased and thats when denotator destroyer comes in place to earase those "hidden" files. Anyhow, to revert back DX8.0 is only possible by "FORMATING" your hdd. this is what i know, if any one has any suggestion plz correct me !
Besides why do want to go back to DX8.0. It not much of a difference anyway.

• Firefox 31.6.0ESR updated to Firefox 37.0.1 -- How do I Revert?

My hard drive crashed and was replaced by a repairman who moved all the files but somehow 'updated' my Firefox 31.6.0esr to Firefox 37.0.1 (the About Firefox window shows 37 but the Update History shows last update as ESR ?!?).
This PC needs to be on the ESR channel.
How do I revert/convert/whatever back to ESR without losing the settings/add-ons/etc. for all the users?
FYI: This 'update' has broken a bunch of stuff:
* The Search Bar is now invisible. Already tried removing, re-adding, setting size, etc.
* Loading each page initiates an error message about a 'getter' and spawns new windows.
ALSO: I tried to attach an image of the issues and it kept hanging, even after creating a smaller version.
Since I can't attach the screenshots, please view them from my website:

http://sosayssunny.com/Firefox_Problems.png (Full-Size, 291 KB)
Please help! (I'm already at wit's end about the hard drive crash. :-P )
Thanks!

First, use the refresh Firefox feature to create a backup of your user profile.
The Refresh feature (called "Reset" in older Firefox versions) can fix many issues by restoring Firefox to its factory default state while saving your bookmarks, history, passwords, cookies, and other essential information.
Note: When you use this feature, you will lose any extensions, toolbar customizations, and some preferences. See the Refresh Firefox - reset add-ons and settings article for more information.
To Refresh Firefox:
# Open the Troubleshooting Information page using one of these methods:
#*Click the menu button , click help and select Troubleshooting Information. A new tab containing your troubleshooting information should open.
#*If you're unable to access the Help menu, type about:support in your address bar to bring up the Troubleshooting Information page.
#At the top right corner of the page, you should see a button that says "Refresh Firefox" ("Reset Firefox" in older Firefox versions). Click on it.
#Firefox will close. After the refresh process is completed, Firefox will show a window with the information that is imported.
#Click Finish and Firefox will reopen.
Next, download Firefox ESR. Then uninstall Firefox and install Firefox ESR.
Last, follow the instructions in this article to restore your backed up profile: Back up and restore information in Firefox profiles

• I updated to new ios and now it is not syncing properly.  How can i revert back to the previous installed version?

I updated to new ios and now it is not syncing properly.  New songs are not showing up on the ipod display but when I view the device on my computer, they are in the playlist but there is a dashed circle beside the missing songs.  It previously synced perfectly before the IOS update.  How can i revert back to the previous installed version?

Downgrading the iOS is not supported by Apple.
Try:

• How do I revert back to previous (before 11) itunes. Someone nicked my Album Cover flow, without asking

how do I revert back to previous (before 11) itunes.
Someone nicked my Album Cover flow, without asking. I have snow leopard. I was happy. Just before Christmas as if I havent got enough to do Thank You. I've given Apple loads of money this year--presents and all, the least they could do is tell me, they're going to take stuff off of My computer that I enjoy,/ find very useful/ and worked hard to update all my album covers and have a gallery of my own artwork for my mixes--it was beautiful. When I went to add some more, the facility had been taken away from me. Was so dissapointed. They send me emails all the time to buy the latest must have products. I even did a questionair to help them. They really care for their customers--right. So why couldnt they warn me about this update, its only polite.
If I bought a warm coat some years ago, then the manufatures came round without my knowledge and cut off the left arm, and later told me, their reserch says that people dont use the left arm so much so they have to get rid of it. 1. I think that would be illegal. 2. its impolite not to ask if they could do it. 3. why not give me an options to keep it, seeing as i bought it. 4. its ludicrous.
I trusted Apple-but then -they took my YouTube off my ipad. I cant update to newer software as I will lose some expensive programms (Im not made of money). I also have 2 oldish defunct but fully working laser printers (if they were compatible with new software).
Im not a techky-I just use the stuff, I do art and music and Cover Flow was equipement I used.

Unfortunately, that's the way the cookie crumbles nowadays. Sir Jony Ive's GUI design for iOS7 has been met with much skepticism (to say the least). But until the company sees the compelling need for an adjustment or reversal, it "ain't happenin' ". So amble over to the feedback page ( http://www.apple.com/feedback/ ) and make your displeasure known to the company, OR make it known by not purchasing its products. Because as long as the iGadgets continue selling as fast as they can make them, they will see no need for change.
BTW, do note you are NOT talking to Apple here. This is just a user-to-user forum.
Edit: for now, you can also try out any of the alternate calendaring apps available in the App Store.

• How do I revert back to the old operating system?  The new upgrade that came out totally disabled my WiFi and the default backgrounds changed to white instead of bla k.

An upgrade was sent to my Samsung Galaxy S5 phone on 3/27/15 and it ruined my phone.  I no longer have the ability to Wi-Fi.  When I swipe the phone on there is a clicking sound and the scree goes directly to my keypad.  I want the phone to go to my home screen like it did before.  My apps that had a black background now have a white background which is impossible to see outdoors.  I want the black background back for settings, clock, and calculator.  Samsung tech support says this stuff is default with the new upgrade.  How do I revert back to the version I had before without having to put the phone back to factory settings and lose all my pictures, memos and other files I have accumulated over the last year that I have had the phone.  I am desparate.  Please help me.  Send an e-mail to (removed)

You cannot revert back without voiding warranty and we cannot discuss the methods to do so.

• How can I revert back to Snow Leopard (10.6)?

Hello,
I've had it. I can't take Lion any more!! I am one of the idiots who downloaded Lion the first hour it became available. Since then, my life has become a nightmare. Lion is so buggy---Apple blew it big time with this software. Multiple crashes every day, I've lost thousands of saved emails, my calendar is all messed up....I am at my wit's end and I want NOTHING to do with Lion any more.
I don't care how difficult it is---I'm willing to do it. But I don't even know where to turn to get started for such a task, but how can I revert my Operating System back to 10.6.8 (Snow Leopard)? I've been a Mac user since 1985 and I have never EVER had these types of problems. I thought that Apple would have released a software "patch" or something by now---but nope---the drama continues.
I am using a MacBook Pro, my OS is 10.7.1. Please---can someone point me in the right direction so that I can begin the process of dumping this terrible software so that I can go back to something that works?
Thank you very much.

Well, if you made a bootable clone with SL before installing Lion, it's easy - if you didn't, it's a bit more difficult. It will involve having to erase your hard drive, so back up your stuff first. Then, if you have the clone, simply boot from it, erase your drive and clone back. If not, insert your SL install disk, boot from it, erase your drive and reinstall.
