Hi there, I've seen this asked on these forums but haven't seen an answer... maybe there isn't one. I really need to revert back to an older version of iTunes from 11.1.0.126. The most recent version has so many problems (and no real improvement from the older version) that I've come to the conclusion rather than solving each of them one by one (and I've had no luck with any of that so far!), it would be easier to go back to the previous release. Someone nicked my Album Cover flow, without asking. I have snow leopard. I was happy. Just before Christmas as if I havent got enough to do Thank You. I've given Apple loads of money this year--presents and all, the least they could do is tell me, they're going to take stuff off of My computer that I enjoy,/ find very useful/ and worked hard to update all my album covers and have a gallery of my own artwork for my mixes--it was beautiful. When I went to add some more, the facility had been taken away from me. Was so dissapointed. They send me emails all the time to buy the latest must have products. I even did a questionair to help them. They really care for their customers--right. So why couldnt they warn me about this update, its only polite.
If I bought a warm coat some years ago, then the manufatures came round without my knowledge and cut off the left arm, and later told me, their reserch says that people dont use the left arm so much so they have to get rid of it. 1. I think that would be illegal. 2. its impolite not to ask if they could do it. 3. why not give me an options to keep it, seeing as i bought it. 4. its ludicrous.
I trusted Apple-but then -they took my YouTube off my ipad. I cant update to newer software as I will lose some expensive programms (Im not made of money). I also have 2 oldish defunct but fully working laser printers (if they were compatible with new software).
Im not a techky-I just use the stuff, I do art and music and Cover Flow was equipement I used.

With Firefox 7 my computer is slower to boot up and shut down. When typing the website I want in the address bar the old firefox took me straight to the site now it takes me to Google. If i do anything on my computer besides play the new Itunes by itself, I get horrible audio distortions. How/where do I download a previous version? I was running just fine with multiple applications open before this painful 'upgrade'.

If you look in the folder where your library file is stored, iTunes creates backups, replace the newest file with the file created before the install.
On my computer, files were in "my music->iTunes", file named "iTunes Library.itl", with backup files stored in a folder called "Previous iTunes Libraries" in the same directory.
As for this release, it's buggy as heck. I had deteriorating audio problems like everyone else, then when I quit out it gave me an error when I tried to restart it, and I could no longer even open the program. Now I'm happily back at v6.0.5.2, fortunately I still had the installer on my computer.

You can't. It's already downloaded and filled the drive. The only option is to erase and reinstall.
You may be able to Target Disk Mode if you can connect the Mac to another with FireWire or Thunderbolt Cables (USB will not work and it cannot be connected to a windows PC)
Do you have a Time Machine Backup?
If not best option is getting it in somewhere where they can transfer the data you need off before Erase and Reinstalling OS.
Unless there is nothing on the Machine you need anymore that is, in which case you may be able to Erase in Recovery. It May not work though, if the Disk is too full.

Hey Chris, thanks for all the keeping up with us and stuff. I have an issue and i'm not sure if this was already discussed (if so sorry). Windows 8 IE 10 I'm getting an error tying to downgrade my customers to the beta. The message i'm getting is

I have done my research and I cannot find how to fix this issue. I have ran the uninstaller multiple times and restarted blah blah all the goodies. It will not let me install the beta.

I'd like to have the ability to deny an update, some kind of dialogue box. It just went to 9.0.1 with no approval whatsoever.
The reason why is that FF main appeal is the range of extensions, having over half of them non-functional because developers can't keep up with frequent Firefox updates is frustrating beyond compare.

You should take a look at the Knowledge Base article [[Installing a previous version of Firefox]]. This will show you how to roll back to an older version.
If you want to turn off automatic updates, just take a look at [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/Updating%20Firefox#w_how-do-i-configure-update-options this article]. That will prevent Firefox from updating automatically.

I'm running OS !0.4.8, and software update upgraded my itunes yesterday. Now, it won't open - it says I need 10.4.9.
I CANT upgrade to 10.4.9, because every time I do, Airport Extreme update 2007-001, which is not compatible with 10.4.9, stops working and my internet gets cut off. So how can I revert to the older itunes?

Don't be in such a rush to downgrade iTunes ..... you are putting the cart before the horse!
I would strongly suggest that you upgrade the OSX 10.4.8 to the later versions ... 10.4.10 or .11 ...
but *first update the AirPort Extreme* in the following order:

then
2) http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/airportextremeupdate2007003.html
Repair Permissions using (Applications/Utilities/Disk Utility/RP) ..... RESTART computer.
You should then be able to upgrade your Tiger OSX 10.4.8, which will enable the install of other applications.

That message is usually caused by an incompatible add-on. You need to do a little bit of troubleshooting to determine which one, and then disable that particular add-on until you can find and install an updated version which doesn't cause that error. <br />
