How do I revert to an older IE 10 build?

A user is asking me to revert his IE 10 to 10.0.9200.16750, would there be a way to do that? i.e by uninstalling some updates or even better as I already tried to remove IE 10 completely to install an older build I found, to then apply updates up to the
build the user wants but the install is failing when I use this link :
http://www.microsoft.com/en-ca/download/internet-explorer-10-details.aspx it worked when I used this link :
http://www.oldversion.com/windows/internet-explorer-10-windows-7-x64 I was able to install IE 10.0.9200.16438, I have disabled IE automatic updates, and use the option in Windows Updates
to check online for updates, I'm trying updates related to IE and a few other ones one by one to try to get to the desired build, IE current installed build is 10.0.9200.16443, now the only one remaining is update is an optional update named Internet
Explorer 10 for Windows 7 for x64 - based Systems, I installed it and now the IE build is 10.0.9200.16866. Would anyone know what steps should be taken to get IE to the 10.0.9200.16750 build?

Hi Yann,
I would ask why the user want's/needs to downgrade their IE version....
Generally IE updates within a Major version number are security related... rolling back IE10 minor versions could place the computer at risk.
viz: which Addon or site can't the user use?
The proper strategy is to upgrade to the most recent version supported by the operating system... this is now IE11 for Win7 and 8.1
The Windows Update rollback, uninstalls the current Major version, and reinstalls the previous Major version. You can use Programs and Features>Intalled updates to uninstall IE10 back to IE9, then install IE10.... WU will then prompt you to install any
dependencies and updates...it is these updates that you want to manage....
Installing IE executables from a third-party is in breach of your company's IEAK license which states that you must source the exe's from MS sources.
these are public forums, we do not work for nor represent MS.

The user needs to reproduce a customer environment, this environment is probably not under his control hence why he wants to have this build. I understand the concerns of using resources from 3rd party websites and I'm evenrually going to remove IE10 again
from his computer and use the installer for build 10.0.9200.16521 found here  http://www.microsoft.com/en-ca/download/internet-explorer-10-details.aspx I tried to install updates 1 by 1 to reach the build he wants, I didn't try to do the opposite (installing
latest build and remove updates one by one. User says that the customer has group policies and their system gets updated only twice a year or once... there is an issue in the
customer's environment which is working fine in the user's local QA. He is not able to replicate the issue in his QA, the only difference between the client's servers and his servers is the IE 10 build, so he wants want to install the same build than his customer
and replicate the issue to fix it.

• How do I revert to an older version of iTunes?

I'm running OS !0.4.8, and software update upgraded my itunes yesterday. Now, it won't open - it says I need 10.4.9.
I CANT upgrade to 10.4.9, because every time I do, Airport Extreme update 2007-001, which is not compatible with 10.4.9, stops working and my internet gets cut off. So how can I revert to the older itunes?

hattrickpatrick,
Don't be in such a rush to downgrade iTunes ..... you are putting the cart before the horse!
I would strongly suggest that you upgrade the OSX 10.4.8 to the later versions ... 10.4.10 or .11 ...
but *first update the AirPort Extreme* in the following order:
1) http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/airportextremeupdate2007002.html
then
2) http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/airportextremeupdate2007003.html
Repair Permissions using (Applications/Utilities/Disk Utility/RP) ..... RESTART computer.
You should then be able to upgrade your Tiger OSX 10.4.8, which will enable the install of other applications.

• Bridge 6.1.0.115 will not run on Mac OS 10.6.8. Unfortunately, I upgraded to the new version. How do I revert to the older version that works with Mac OS 10.6.8?

Is there a way to download the previous or older version of Bridge CC. The current version will not run on Mac OS 10.6.8. Thanks for any assistance.

The current version will not run on Mac OS 10.6.8. Thanks for any assistance.
The easiest way would be to update to at least 10.7.5 (supported on most older Macs) but maybe you have strong reasons not to do so, however it will put you in to more trouble in the future because newer applications have more often the habit of not being able to support older OS versions due to limitations of this old OS.
Here is the announcement of Adobe:
http://blogs.adobe.com/creativecloud/moving-ahead-with-mac-os-x-10-7-and-higher/
However PS CC should still work on your system and otherwise CS6 should. As a cloud subscriber you still have access to both CC and CS6 on the Adobe CC download pages. But only PS is a major upgrade (changed to version 2014) and Bridge has just a minor update and should still work on 10.6.8 I would think?
Installing the updates and upgrades did not remove or uninstall the CC versions of PS, otherwise use CC application to install CC again.

Is it possible to pull the older version of iTunes off of an install disk? I still have my Panther install disks, and I'm still running Panther in my G4. I upgraded iTunes last week to 7.6 and it seems to be running fine, although I haven't tried to hook up my iPod (previous generation) to it yet.

• I updated to the latest version of Safari now I cannot log into certain websites like my online banking.  How do I revert back to an older version?

I updated to the latest version of Safari now I cannot log into certain websites like my online banking.  Another reason I loved using this computer was autofill, now that does not work the same either, I have to respond twice to get my info to fill in.  I fill out many forms in a day and this change has been so bad that I have downloaded Mozilla Firefox to use instead.  I hope apple fixes these issues but until then how do I revert back to an older version of Safari?

Quit Safari.
Open Keychain Access   /Applications/Utilities
Select Passwords on the left. Delete any keychains for sites you have problems logging into.
Relaunch Safari. Go to Safari / Preferences - Autofill. Make sure all three boxes are selected.
Now navigate to a site, login with your user name and password. You should be prompted to save that data to a new keychain. Click Yes.
If you still have problems, go to ~/Library/Cookies. Move the Cookies.plist file to the Trash.
~ (Tilde) represents your Home folder.
Try logging into a site again.

• I hate the newest version of itunes. how do i revert back to an older version?

i cant stand the newest version of itunes. and now i cant figure out how to revert to an older version.  i watched the tutorial but i still cant stand it.  is there anyway to downgrade back to the way itunes was before this completely different version.

You can get closer to the old look with ctrl-b to turn on the menu bar and ctrl-s to turn on the sidebar, then select Artists from the selection of views across the top.
If you still want to roll back to iTunes 10.7 first download a copy of the installer fromhere, uninstall iTunes and suppporting software, i.e. Apple Application Support & Apple Mobile Device Support. Reboot. Restore the pre-upgrade version of your library database as per the diagram below, then install iTunes 10.7.
See iTunes Folder Watch for a tool to scan the media folder and catch up with any changes made since the backup file was created.

• How do I uninstall quicktime so it stops reverting to an older version?

How do I uninstall quicktime so it stops reverting to an older version despite having chosen to download 7.5.5?
I seem to be in a vortex!!

What exactly is happening?  I'm not understanding  your description of the problem but going purely on your mentioning Quicktime and seeing you are running Leopard I suspect you re-installed your operating system and the answer is:
QuickTime 7.5.5 for Leopard - http://support.apple.com/kb/DL27
QuickTime 7.7 for Leopard - http://support.apple.com/kb/dl761
= New version of Quicktime installed but application reports it needs to have that version installed =
Open Application > Utilities > System Profiler and check the Quicktime version in Frameworks vs. the version in Applications.  One person had re-installed their operating system.  It had kept the newer Player application but had reverted to an earlier version of the underlying support framework files which many applications utilize.  Re-installing Quicktime 7.7 took care of the problem.  Do this manually, not with Software Update.

• Firefox 31.6.0ESR updated to Firefox 37.0.1 -- How do I Revert?

My hard drive crashed and was replaced by a repairman who moved all the files but somehow 'updated' my Firefox 31.6.0esr to Firefox 37.0.1 (the About Firefox window shows 37 but the Update History shows last update as ESR ?!?).
This PC needs to be on the ESR channel.
How do I revert/convert/whatever back to ESR without losing the settings/add-ons/etc. for all the users?
FYI: This 'update' has broken a bunch of stuff:
* The Search Bar is now invisible. Already tried removing, re-adding, setting size, etc.
* Loading each page initiates an error message about a 'getter' and spawns new windows.
ALSO: I tried to attach an image of the issues and it kept hanging, even after creating a smaller version.
Since I can't attach the screenshots, please view them from my website:

Please help! (I'm already at wit's end about the hard drive crash. :-P )
Thanks!

First, use the refresh Firefox feature to create a backup of your user profile.
The Refresh feature (called "Reset" in older Firefox versions) can fix many issues by restoring Firefox to its factory default state while saving your bookmarks, history, passwords, cookies, and other essential information.
Note: When you use this feature, you will lose any extensions, toolbar customizations, and some preferences. See the Refresh Firefox - reset add-ons and settings article for more information.
To Refresh Firefox:
# Open the Troubleshooting Information page using one of these methods:
#*Click the menu button , click help and select Troubleshooting Information. A new tab containing your troubleshooting information should open.
#*If you're unable to access the Help menu, type about:support in your address bar to bring up the Troubleshooting Information page.
#At the top right corner of the page, you should see a button that says "Refresh Firefox" ("Reset Firefox" in older Firefox versions). Click on it.
#Firefox will close. After the refresh process is completed, Firefox will show a window with the information that is imported.
#Click Finish and Firefox will reopen.
Next, download Firefox ESR. Then uninstall Firefox and install Firefox ESR.
Last, follow the instructions in this article to restore your backed up profile: Back up and restore information in Firefox profiles

• IDVD 08 is a bummer. How do I return to an older version?

I had iLife 04 on my Mac for ages, but I just bought and installed iLife 08.
Mistake!
IDVD 08 will not open any of my old iDVD projects; it just sits there with the beachball spinning or doing nothing at all. All the old projects now have the blue and white iDVD 08 icon, but they don't open. Likewise "Open Previous Project" doesn't work.
So, I attempted to recreate some of my old projects in iDVD 08 by dumping the Quicktime movies that were originally used to create the old iDVD 4 projects (QuickTime movies that were exported from Final Cut Express), but I can't seem to drag and drop them into iDVD's background like I could with iDVD 4. When I drag the icon of the QT movie over into iDVD's window, the + sign does not appear, indicating that it's ready to drop, and when I let go of the mouse button, the QT movie's icon returns to the folder where the file resides.
Most of the time, when trying to open or create any project, iDVD just sits there with its beachball spinning, or does nothing at all, so that I have to force-quit it (and then I trash the .plist).
This version of iDVD seems like a real bummer. I can't get it to do anything.
How do I return to iDVD 4? Can I Trash iDVD 08 and then reinstall iDVD 04 from the iLife 04 DVD?
Tom

Very rarely do I recommend reverting to an older version of iLife once the current version is already installed. But in your own situation, perhaps this is best ..... given the fact apple's iLife'08 isn't intended for a G4. You need a G5 or better for iMovie apparently within iLife 08. iDVD's system requirements call for at least a G4 733. But I haven't seen anyone post on this iDVD forum who has the latest version of iDVD successfully running on a G4.
Use the following app at your own risk to remove iDVD:

Good luck!

• How do I revert my iPhone OS 3.0 back to 1.2.2?

I just uploaded the new 3.1 iPhone operating system but found out some of my apps do not work with the new system. How do I revert back to the older operating system? Where do I go to find the older version operating system for my iPhone?
Now I am locked out and don't know how to unlock the iPhone.
Can this be done?
Thank you,
JKai

If you've updated from a very old 1.2 software version to 3.0.1 then you are out of luck. The modem software has been updated in the process, and going back is almost certainly not an option. You'll just have to wait until the apps are updated.

• Reverting to an older version.

Yep, I know it's an odd question, but how do I revert to an iTunes version 6 series? iTunes 7 series works well, except that it will not sync my Outlook contacts. Aparently it doesn't like any Outlook older than 2004, and I'm not willing to upgrade something that works just fine.
So, how do I dump iTunes 7 and reload iTunes 6?
