How do I revert to oem Apple screen color profile of iMac 27inch screen ?

In a series of desperate attempts for color matching my print outputs of " a Pro RGB printer " to my iMac, I made a mess of my iMac screen color profiles.
How can I revert to the OEM screen color profile that my iMac was running on the day it arrived.

System Preferences->Displays->Color->select the one labeled iMac.

IMac 27inch screen shutoff

hi my iMac 27inch screen shutoff automatically. Sometimes I can wake the screen up again but sometimes I can't. Sometimes the screen just turns back on after a few minutes. I sent it back to the place I bought it. They say the either the motherboard or the screen is broken. I have to pay something around 800 dollars to repair it. It almost half price of the computer. Is there any other solution to my problem?

Only if they are wrong about the screen or motherboard being broken.
How old is it? And you did not get apple care when you bought it?
Had you gone to system preferences>energy saver and adjust the time before the screen sleeps?
The "turns back on" kind of is a bad sign for you though... Sorry I am unable to help at ALL.

I hope that Apple will authorize Brett L. to provide us with some clear, honest answers to them . . . although, as I pointed out before, it would seem by the latest messages that have been posted in this thread -- that is, the *original thread* -- that through their actions, Apple has already provided us with their answer -- and solution -- to the yellow tinge issue; and that is the replacement of the LCD panel.
As to what the most recent display firmware update did, I am doubtful that Apple will allow Brett to reveal that kind of information, but we can be hopeful.
As far as when it will be safe to purchase a new iMac, I seriously doubt that Apple will say anything which would suggest that it is not safe to purchase a new iMac now. What company is going to say "Don't buy our product now. It's not safe"?
For my part, I have now contacted Apple regarding the issues that I am having with my 27" iMac, and I will wait over the next few days to see how things play out. Based on the testimonies of others here, I don't expect Apple to disappoint. I have the confidence that they want to leave me a satisfied customer who will continue to purchase their products in the future.

I understand that you are having issues with your HP 2310m monitor going blank and/or flickering. I am providing you with some steps you can try below:
Step 1. Unplug the power cord from the back of the monitor and the wall
Step 2. Hold the power button down for at least one minute
Step 3. Plug the power cord back into the monitor and then into the wall outlet (not a power bar or surge protector)
Step 4. Press the Menu button on the monitor
Step 5. Navigate to the Factory Reset option and select it

New iMac 27inch screen flickering/tearing/shutoff

I have been experiencing some problems with the all new iMac 27inch display.
At non-fixed intervals i will get one of the following:
Screen distortion/flicker somewhere random in the screen (feels like it is more in the lower part) that looks like a horizontal bar of about 2-3inches just popping in and out of the screen.
Screen will go completely black for a second and then come back on. Sometimes 2-3 times in a row.
Somebody else already made some video-clips about these problems, I am experiencing exactly the same behaviour.

Just to not that in the course of writing this post my screen has flickered 13 times and has gone black 2 times.

I received my 27" iMac three days ago and ever since i got it out of the box and turned it on it has done the same as the video shows.
Last night i watched a 30 min programme on BBC iPlayer and the 2-3 inch white lines kept popping up every few seconds horizontally across the screen. The screen also went black momenterally on 6 occasions.
I cannot believe after three days that this problem is so bad. I spome with Apple this morning on the Apple Care line and they told me to:
1. Shut down and take out power cord for 20 secs then turn back on.
2. Shut Down and then hold down "D" when turning back on which performed a hardware test...
Both had no effect.
Luckilly i am still within the 14 days of recieving my iMac and they are sending out a replacement but i am worried that this machine will have the same problems...
Is anyone happy with theres and is anyone not experiencing this problem... There seems to be a big issue here???

IMac 27inch screen flickering

The left bottom side of my 6 month iMac 27inch gets flickering and darker, and if I press on the screen, it gets the correct lightning. What should I do? Is there any way to repair this by software? Or do I have to call apple care? thanks

Flickering would be covered by the warranty. I would recommend buying AppleCare though, you can find it discounted by doing a little searching. For example on Amazon I see it for about $130.00

Weird Screen Color Profile

Dose any body have this problem.
It happens sometime when I active my Macbook screen after its sleep. The screen profile changed.
So I go to the screen preference and with out doing anything, it just comes back to normal.

I just started having this problem as well on a Mac Pro. Originally I had two displays plugged into a 7300gt and there were no problems. I then added a Wacom Cintiq to my workflow as well as a 8800gt to accommodate all of the monitors. Now I have my original two displays hooked up to the 8800gt and the Cintiq plugged into the 7300gt.
About one in three times that the monitors wake from sleep my first display on the 8800gt loses it's color profile. I have been setting it back to the way I calibrated it by going into my spyder 3 utility and clicking "before and after" in the spyderproof section. This has become very annoying, and I hope that Apple finds a way to fix it soon.

Quicktime/iTunes Full Screen Color Profile Issues?

I'm running Yosemite now, but this has been an issue long before I upgraded from Mavericks as well. The default color calibration in OSX is overly bright and blown out on my monitor, so I have a custom calibration set up and in use on my Mac Mini. The profile I created looks great for general viewing, movies or anything else I want to do.
However...there seems to be an issue with Quicktime in either the app itself or when playing a movie from my iTunes library. If I play a movie in a window there are no issues, but the problem comes when I play a video in full screen mode. The color calibration looks just fine UNTIL the play controls automatically disappear from the screen. That's when it seems to go back to the default color profile that's blown out and muddy looking. Move the mouse so the controls come back up, color profile goes right back to the one I have set....until they go off the screen again, when the default profile is back.
Anyone else experiencing this and maybe found a workaround or way to fix it? I've found a couple mentions of it on the web in forums, but no answers or even replies were ever given.

Me too and it's very annoying. Exactly the same symptoms of the colour changing when the fullscreen controls disappear.
I've used a colormunki to create a custom profile for my monitor for photoshop use. Has everyone else done something similar?
I created the profile before Mavericks & Yosemite updates so I might try deleting it and creating a new one to see if that helps.

You have the display set in Extended Desktop mode with the MacBook as the main screen. The Menu Bar and Dock will be on the MacBook display and your background screen on the TV but you can move the cursor onto the TV screen.
In System Preferences>Display on the MacBook screen there should be an Arrangement tab when you have the MacBook hooked up to the TV and both screens working. When you click the Arrangement tab do you see two monitors side by side? One of them will have a Menu Bar at the top. Just click on the Menu Bar and drag it to the second monitor. That will make the second monitor your main screen.
The TV will now have the Dock and Menu Bar and windows will open on it. But you can move the cursor to the MacBook screen and move windows from the TV over to the MacBook screen.
You can now use your MacBook in Clamshell Mode with a wired or Bluetooth keyboard and mouse. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3131 When you disconnect from the TV your Menu Bar will automatically change back to the MacBook.
Or if you want to work on the MacBook screen while showing it on a TV you can check the Mirror Display box on the lower left hand side of the Arrangement tab under the two monitors box. That will give you the same screen at the same resolution on both the MacBook and the external monitor.

How do i get help if apple will not help me - crack in screen

i have a crack in the inner part of the dispplay despite never having trauma to the scree...apple tells me there had to be trauma...i told them they cant tell me there is NEVER a faulty screen....a pinpoint crack could and does spread...they insisted i should have seen it..what may have been PINPOINT...a $1200 repair on a 5 month old machine that has been taken care of...i need advice on who and where i can go to get action...the supervisor told me she was the end of the line...im furious!!!

I am assuming that you called AppleCare to see about service to your display, is that correct?
If you have not done so, I would suggest taking the display in for an evaluation by an Apple retail store or Apple Authorized Service Provider. Be sure to make an [appointment|http://www.apple.com/retail> before going to one of Apple's stores - if you don't the wait to see a genius can be rather long.
I realize you are unhappy about this, but a calm non-threatening attitude when you show up at the store will go a long way towards getting you help.

I am using an Emerson led tv as a monitor, and when I tried to adjust the display settings to get a better resolution,I chose a resolution that wasn't supported. Now it is telling me to change the settings, but I can't see the screen anymore.

2. Locate the following keys on the keyboard: Command, Option, P, and R. You will need to hold these keys down simultaneously in step 4.
3. Turn on the computer.
4. Press and hold the Command-Option-P-R keys. You must press this key combination before the gray screen appears.
5. Hold the keys down until the computer restarts and you hear the startup sound for the second time.
6. Release the keys.

How can I use my ADC apple cinema display on my iMac 2006 with mini display port?

I got this new screen on eBay for £20 and its an old ADC display and to my annoyance I found there isn't a way to hook it up to my iMac with a mini dvi port . So I was wondering if there is a work around that the community has come up with or if its just best to sell it ( bearing in mind that the next best screen from apple that I know will work is around £80 on eBay)

Actually it did not solve my problem. But I probably did not explain it correctly. I want all my devices to get the same messages. At home I have an Imac and an Ipad and then i use one ipad at work. They were set up with one Apple Id and used to work perfectly on that id. However suddenly the Ipad at work rejected the apple id and I thus do not get any messages. The Imac also stays inactive. I have checked the apple id and nothing is wrong. It all works well. Except imessage no longer functions. Any suggestions?

How do i transfer my old Apple Mail to a new iMac

I have a new iMac running OS 10.10.1 and Apple Mail 8.1 and an old Mac Pro running OS 10.7.5 and Apple Mail 5.3. I have a LOT of unwanted apps and other material on my MacPro which I don't want to transfer so I can't use migration methods that just transfer everything. So, I am generally struggling to transfer applications and files but particularlyy Apple Mail. I have lots of saved mail in folders (stored, I believe, locally on my Mac) which I DO wish to keep.
So, the questions are:
1. what is the best way to transfer a large and complex Apple Mail set of files?
and
2. Is there a tool to there that enables me to selectively transfer files between Macs?
