How do I rewrap text in a quoted message?

Is it my imagination, or did there used to be a command in one of the menus to rewrap paragraphs?
I am drafting an email this morning with an extended quote and it has those terrible ragged edges you get with oft forwarded excerpts.
Do I need to manually remove all the line breaks?
Seems there used to be an Edit/Rewrap Paragraphs command. Am I imagining things? Did it move? Have I got the wrong name for the command?
Nothing is coming up in Help.
Thanks in advance,
Will

Will,
I'm looking for the same functionality: if I can't reformat the (quoted) text I've hacked about and whose lines I've had to chop and join before sending - to make it all tidy - I don't think I can switch (from Mailsmith, which can do that easily to Mail.

  • How to do a global search in quoted messages?

    Using Thunderbird 24.4.0 on Ubuntu. Is there any way to do a global search in quoted messages? I read https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Mozilla/Thunderbird/gloda, section "Content whittlers". I take it from that description that it's a feature to exclude quoted message content from global search? Is there a way to enable global searching in quoted text?

    Thanks for pointing there's a third way to search through messages, hidden deep in the Edit/Find submenu! The global search with CTRL-K seemed global enough to me, and was right in my face... I didn't even think of looking in the menus for more...
    So this worked:
    * Edit/Find/Search Messages
    * Search for messages in (select my whole mailbox)
    * Tick "Search subfolders"
    * Criteria: Body contains
    There you have it. It found all the messages in all the subfolders that contained the string, regardless of location in the body i.e. it found it in quoted text and everywhere else.
    Thanks!

  • How can I add text to a reply message on Mac

    When replying to an email message via the Mail.app (on Mac), I would like my lines to have my name at the beginning of the line, and have it in a different font (similar to what Outlook does).
    I was thinking of writing an AppleScript that will insert my mail, and change its font. The script will be bound to some shortcut.
    1. Is there a script / option that is already doing it?
    2. If not - how can I insert specific text into the current place in an existing email, preferably not by writing it somewhere else and simulating command-v?
    Thanks

    Thanks for your reply. The line that you mention is added at the top of the message, and includes the original sender's email. I would like my name to appear, next to each line I add in the text of the original mail.
    For example:
    Assuming my name is Joe Smith, what I would like to have as the final reply is described below.
    The lines that start with "[Joe Smith]" are my replies, to the original items in the original mail.

  • How to attach a text file as an attachment to email message?

    Hello Everybody,
    I have a .csv file, in which details about emp-id, emp-name, e-expenses for Reimbursement and email address are stored.
    My application reads this .csv file, and sends a mail to each employee with his id, salary details in text format. (by changing content type to "text/plain") The code is working fine. But,
    My problem is:
    The message is sent as message body to the end user.
    The end user / the person who receives this mail will not be a technical person. So,
    1) If he trys to take a print out of this e-mail, He get only half of it.(as no. of colums will be more than paper size).
    2) I am finding alignment problem. IF employee name is too big, other columns will shift to right and data will not be exactly under column header. (it is going in zig zag way)
    So, I thought sending text file with all the details as an attachment might do well.
    But, I don't know how to attach a text file to email-message body.

  • How to add body text to smartform email?

    Hi,
    In release 620, how can you add text to the mail message that is generated from e-mailing a smartform.  I need to add a small message to the body of the message in addition to the attachment.
    i.e. Please find attached your invoice. [attachement.pdf]
    Thanks,
    Guy

    I don't know SmartForm so there may be another way to do it but the following approach was fine for Sapscript.
    Basically have a look at the SAP sample programs bcs_example_* where * = 1 thru 5. I think bcs_example_5 is the one to focus on. This creates a simple email and then adds an attachemnt to it. In your case you want the attachment to be your SmartForm's output.
    For the SapScript I was able to call the form from abap, receive the output into a table whose contents I could then attach to the email.
    The attachment code needs to be changed to set type to OTF:
    i_attachment_type = 'OTF'
    I'll speak in SAPscript and hope there are equivalent terms in SmartForm. I created the following abap form to run the SAPscript and get it's output into a table:
         Form  GET_OTF_CODE
    FORM  get_otf_code
    USING us_work       TYPE zsd_fet_signup_confirm
    CHANGING ch_otf_out TYPE solix_tab.
      DATA: BEGIN OF otf OCCURS 0.
              INCLUDE STRUCTURE itcoo .
      DATA: END OF otf.
      DATA: itcpo LIKE itcpo.
      DATA: itcpp LIKE itcpp.
      CLEAR itcpo.
      itcpo-tdgetotf = 'X'.
    Start writing OTF code
      CALL FUNCTION 'OPEN_FORM'
        EXPORTING
          form     = 'ZSD_FET_COVERFAX'
          language = sy-langu
          OPTIONS  = itcpo
          dialog   = ' '
        EXCEPTIONS
          OTHERS   = 1.
      CALL FUNCTION 'START_FORM'
        EXCEPTIONS
          error_message = 01
          OTHERS        = 02.
      CASE us_work-recipient_type.
        WHEN c_agent_recipient.
          w_recipient_name = us_work-agent.
        WHEN c_asm_recipient.
          w_recipient_name = us_work-asm.
        WHEN OTHERS.
          w_recipient_name = 'IPL Agent/ASM'.
      ENDCASE.
      CALL FUNCTION 'WRITE_FORM'
        EXPORTING
          window        = 'MAIN'
          element       = 'HEADER'
        EXCEPTIONS
          error_message = 01
          OTHERS        = 02.
      CALL FUNCTION 'WRITE_FORM'
        EXPORTING
          window        = 'MAIN'
          element       = 'TEXT'
        EXCEPTIONS
          error_message = 01
          OTHERS        = 02.
    Close up Form and get OTF code
      CALL FUNCTION 'END_FORM'
        EXCEPTIONS
          error_message = 01
          OTHERS        = 02.
      MOVE-CORRESPONDING itcpo TO itcpp.
      CALL FUNCTION 'CLOSE_FORM'
        IMPORTING
          RESULT  = itcpp
        TABLES
          otfdata = otf
        EXCEPTIONS
          OTHERS  = 1.
    Move OTF code to output structure
      REFRESH ch_otf_out.
      LOOP AT otf.
        APPEND otf TO ch_otf_out.
      ENDLOOP.

    Qualcuno sa come collegare il testo in due o più caselle di testo nella versione 5.0 di Pages. Grazie per le vostre risposte.

    It's just one of the many, many features that have been eliminated or changed. Leave feedback for the Pages team using the link in the Pages menu and review & rate the new versions in the Mac App Store.

  • How to download / read  text attachment  in Sender Mail Adapter  IN XI

    I would like to know how to download / read text attachment in sender mail Adapter & sent same attachment to target system using file adapter.

    Regards
    DSR

    I would like to know how to download / read text attachment in sender mail Adapter & sent same
    attachment to target system using file adapter.
    Take help from this blog:
    /people/michal.krawczyk2/blog/2005/12/18/xi-sender-mail-adapter--payloadswapbean--step-by-step
    From the blog:
    However in most cases
    our message will not be a part of the e-mail's payload but will be sent as a file attachment.
    Can XI's mail adapter handle such scenarios? Sure it can but with a little help
    from the PayloadSwapBean adapter module
    Once your message (attachment) is read by the sender CC, you can perform the basic mapping requirement (if any) to convert the mail message fromat to the file format.....configure a receiver FILE CC and send the message...this should be the design...

    Abhishek.

    Hi there,
    Download a piece of software called TinkerTool - that might just solve your problem. I have used it myself to change the system fonts on my iMac. It is software and not an app.
    Good wishes,
    John.
