How do I roll-back to the previous version of Firefox? An auto update occurred and now one of the programs used at the office (ACT! v6.0 SwiftMail) won't run with the browser.
The office I work in uses a very old version of ACT!, an accounting package. This package has a component called SwiftPage, an antiquated email system that enables us to email from the ACT DB. SwiftPage runs via the web browser.
Firefox just did an auto update (that I will have to find out how to turn off) and now SwiftPage won't run as it is not compatible.
Can I "roll-back" my version of Firefox or do I have to uninstall and try to re-install an older version?

Many add-ons do in fact work if you force them to run. The procedure to roll-back is given in this article: [[installing previous versions of firefox]]
Unfortunately the official Firefox policy is that you downgrade to 3.6 which is supported for a while longer, and not the now unsupported Firefox 4. If after installing and running the ''add-on compatibility reporter'' you still have problems there are ways around the official policy.
I think it is absurd that Firefox 4 may be used by tens of millions of users one day and a few days later those that upgrade to Firefox 5 should be not only told not to use a now unsupported browser, if they need to revert due to problems, but are actually obstructed in attempts to do so. Until Evernote updates their add-on to mark it compatible with Firefox 6, you can use the [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/add-on-compatibility-reporter/ Add-on Compatibility Reporter] to try re-enabling it yourself.
You can also downgrade to a previous version of Firefox from [https://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/releases/ this archive], but please be warned that some old versions of Firefox have known security bugs that are fixed in later versions. Symantec need to update their Firefox add-ons so that they are compatible with Firefox 4. I do not know about the time scale for updates for other Norton products. Pending the update by Symantec, if you want to use the Norton add-ons you will need to downgrade to Firefox 3.6.
To downgrade to Firefox 3.6 first uninstall Firefox 4, but do not select the option to "Remove my Firefox personal data". If you select that option it will delete your bookmarks, passwords and other user data.
You can then install the latest version of Firefox 3.6 available from http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html - it will automatically use your current bookmarks, passwords etc.
To avoid possible problems with downgrading, I recommend going to your profile folder and deleting the following files if they exist - extensions.cache, extensions.rdf, extensions.ini, extensions.sqlite and localstore.rdf. Deleting these files will force Firefox to rebuild the list of installed extensions, checking their compatibility, and reset toolbar customizations.

The bar at the top lists back and forward. However, there used to be a drop down arrow next to forward where I could click it and select from a list of pages (sites) that I had just visited in this session, without having to click back, back, back, back, etc. You get the picture??
Click-hold the unified Back / Forward button, or right-click it to get the Back / Forward history for that tab.

After downloading Firefox 4 Beta, my personal website does not display as it used to. The text is now aligned left when it was centered. Also, when I try to log in to You Tube, everything freezes. That sounds like the difference between the new Firefox home page '''about:home''' and the previous Google Search page which has '''GMail''' at the top if you used GMail.

I am using windows XP, and have a DSL connection that is not very fast. I think the new version of Firefox may be too complex and have too many things going on for my connection.

My iPod Classic (160G) used to sync flawlessly with iTunes (93G).
Recently, there seem to be fewer folders syncing. In particular, it is not syncing more recent adds. It also occassionally refuses to sync at least one mp3 downloaded from Amazon.com, giving an unable to sync message with an error code or 50.
I'm running iTunes version 10.7, and the software (2.04) on myiPod is current.
I only use the iPod for music. I have only one playlist.
Reset and restore did not fix the problem; I'm considering rolling back to a previous version of iTunes. Are there any other ideas to consider?

iTunes and its sync process with your iPod have been know to choke once the amount of data that needs to be transferred, replaced, or updated, reaches a certain size limit in GBs.

I have an email account at a university where I am teaching. My email address there is [email protected] . With the previous version of Firefox I was able to access my email account. After I installed Firefox 4, I no longer have access to this account. Instead I get a message telling me to reload from my browser, but I cannot see how to do this. I need to have access to this email account from my desktop computer, and so I was thinking of uninstalling Firefox 4. Also, on another website that I use as my home page, which is www.marketamerica.com/signewaller , I had it set up to automatically remember my username and password when going to my "back office" from that site, but now after installing Firefox 4 I have to retype my username and password.
