    I think the file has somehow been corrupted. Can you have the person that sent it to you send another copy?

  • How can I rotate view of a pdf file, like in earlier versions?

      How can I rotate view of a pdf file, like in earlier versions?

    Adobe Reader Touch (Windows Store app with "Modern" UI) for Windows 8 is a relatively new product, which was introduced in December 2012.  Adobe Reader XI, X, or older is a completely separate product - a traditional desktop app with classic UI.  The desktop version has been available in the market for 20 years (!!) and it does not share any common components with Adobe Reader Touch.
    Adobe Reader Touch does not support page (view) rotation yet.
    For Windows 8, you can download and install Adobe Reader XI from the link below.

    For Windows RT, you can use Microsoft Reader (built-in PDF viewer), instead.

    How to insert page numbers in a PDF document using Adobe Acrobat X Pro 10.1.2?
    Thanks.

    OK, I found it myself:
    1. Tools - Pages - Edit Page Design - Header & Footer - Add Header & Footer.
    2. Select the font and size, etc, place the cursor on the appropriate site to insert the page number, click the "Insert Page Number" button, and click OK.
    That is!

    Hi Erika1987,
    If you have not saved the document and Acrobat closed then it's not possible to retrieve the lost data on the pdf file.

  • I received a PDF document with jpegs in it....how can I take the photos to iPhoto

    I received a PDF doc with jpeg photos within it.  How can I move photos to iPhoto??

    Here's how to get a pdf file or any file into iPhoto as a jpeg file:
    1 - open the file in any application that will open it.
    2 - type Command+P to start the print process.
    3  - click on the PDF button and select "Save PDF to iPhoto".
    Note:  If you don't have any of those options go to Toad's Cellar and download these two files:
    Save PDF to iPhoto 200 DPI.workflow.zip
    Save PDF to iPhoto 200 DPI.workflow.zip
    Unzip the files and place in the HD/Library/PDF Services folder and reboot.
    4 - select either of the files above (300 dip is used for photos to be included in a book that will be ordered).
    5 - in the window that comes up enter an album name or select an existing album and hit the Continue button.
    That will create a 200 or 300 dpi jpeg file of each page of the item being printed and import it into iPhoto.

  • Email PDF Documents

    I've been using Acrobat Reader for quite some time but am a Newbie with Adobe Acrobat's features. I need some information, if someone out there would be so kind. Once you create a PDF document, of lets say 10 pages, is it possible to email only CERTAIN PAGES, or do you have to send the entire document?
    Thanks
    Mike Shepard

    you might use XSLT:
    create a xml document with the required data (valid to a special DTD you 'd have to design).
    create a xsl stylesheet which transforms this xml document to pdf
    how it might work:
    - servlet receives the request
    - servlet generates (FileWriter) the xml document
    - servlet transforms the xml document using the given stylesheet (javax.xml.transform)
    - you could link the output (result) directly to the servlets output stream, alternatively you could write the result to a temporary file and redirect the request to the given file which will be deleted after a while...
    hope it helps :)
    PS: you might also use cocoon which is (as i think) java based - but i didn't work with it now - sorry

  • How to position text in an existing PDF document with X,Y coordinates

    There used to be a CFX PDF tag that could do this.  the company (www.easel2.com) does not appear to exist any more.
    This is what i want to do.  I have an existing PDF file that is uploaded by a user.  I want to receive the file, then put a registration number (some text) in the lower left corner of the 2nd page (I don't know the exact x,y coordinate but I can figure that out later).
    Does anyone know how I can do this?

    Unfortunately, I can not create the PDF.  It is uploaded by the user, and I have to open the PDF, insert the text and save it.  BUT, I did find the solution in a slight roundabout way.
    1) Create an image file containing the text I need
    2) Use that image file as a watermark with 10 opacity and use the tag's x,y coordinate setting.
    Below is the code I found to work:
    <!--- Create a blank image that is 500 pixels square. --->
    <cfset myImage=ImageNew("",500,500)>
    <!--- Set the background color for the image to white. --->
    <cfset ImageSetBackgroundColor(myImage,"white")>
    <!---Clear the rectangle specified on myImage and apply the background color. --->
    <cfset ImageClearRect(myImage,0,0,500,500)>
    <!--- Turn on antialiasing. --->
    <cfset ImageSetAntialiasing(myImage)>
    <!--- Draw the text. --->
    <cfset attr=StructNew()>
    <cfset attr.size=50>
    <cfset attr.style="bold">
    <cfset attr.font="Verdana">
    <cfset ImageSetDrawingColor(myImage,"blue")>
    <cfset ImageDrawText(myImage,"PROOF",100,250,attr)>
    <!--- Write the text image to a file. --->
    <cfimage action="write" source="#myImage#" destination="text.tiff" overwrite ="yes">
    <!--- Use the text image as a watermark in the PDF document. --->
    <cfpdf action="addwatermark" source="c:/book/1.pdf" image="text.tiff"
        destination="watermarked.pdf" overwrite="yes">
