Use the Rotate, Crop, Ken Burns Tool. You will find it on the middle toolbar.

How do I rotate film clips in iMovie3?

I recently took 4 15 sec. movie clips in my digital camera and imported them into iMovie 3. The clips were shot by turning the camera vertical. Once the clips were imported they played vertical as well.
I don't know how to rotate them, if it's even possible. If not, is it possible in newer iMovies? I don't have money to upgrade them if it costs, but I'd still like to know. Any help would be appreciated!

I decided to use Bit Player since it seemed simpler to follow than the others. I couldn't use the QT Pro suggestions because I don't have it nor do I wish to pay to upgrade since I hardly ever use it.
Anyways, I downloaded the player and opened my movie, turned it the right way and exported back into iMovie to add titles and such. It looked fine when I played back in BitPlayer but once I exported it, the picture was so compressed, it doesn't look good at all. Everything looks squatty! -.-
Is there a way I can fix this? I exported it in DV format since the instructions said to if you're bringing it up in iMovie. Perhaps another one of the formats is better?

I have already created and shared one movie project from the clips and from photos but now want to make another. However, when i go to the library it only shows me the content of the first project, including the photos, not all of the video clips i originally imported. I can't believe that I need to import them all again.

It seems to me that you must have imported your clips using iMovie 9, (that's why they are all in the Events folder which belongs to iMovie 9). Then you must have upgraded your current project to iMovie 10 which will have put the clips used in that project (but not all the others) into your iMovie 10 library. iMovie 10 has a totally different storage arrangement for media. You should be able to update your other iMovie 9 projects by choosing File > Update Projects and Events in iMovie 10. See: http://help.apple.com/imovie/mac/10.0.8/#/mov902ad0c31
This does not stop you from continuing to use the projects in iMovie 9 though any further editing you do will not be transferred to the other version of iMovie.

On the imovi project I have created there are now yellow warning triangles saying the the clip is missing. How do I get the clip back?

I have created a project in Imovi and when I went back onto it all the clips had a yellow warning triangle with the error message clip missing. How do I retrieve the clips after all my hard work?

I don't use the latest iMovie version, so the steps may be different....... but, you can try a couple of things:
when you got the warning that the clips couldn't be located, was there an option to "find them"? If so, click on that and then navigate to that folder on your desktop (after that, leave the folder where it is - iMovie will need to find them again the next time); or
attach your camera and see if you can get iMovie to 'find' them there, or
simply try to import the clips (File > import) and see if you can integrate them that way.
The next time you start a project, I'd suggest you either
leave the camera attached when you work on the project (as that is where iMovie expects them to be) or
download everything from your camera to your desktop into a folder. Then import into iMovie from there. Do not throw out or move that folder until your project has been finalized,, exported, shared, or burned - those processes will result in having a complete project which includes all the files, clips, etc. Until then, iMovie just "finds" all the files it needs in their original location.

Drag the clip from your Event to your Project. Then use the Rotate, Crop, Ken Burns Tool on the Middle Toolbar to rotate it

you will not see the audio meters from within fcp move while capturing.
If you only see the captured clip in the finder, not within fcp, there's something wrong. You might try deleting your fcp preferences

I have to send an idoc to 2 Receivers by spliting the message.
Based on the occurance of a particular source segments i need to create those many instance of targets.
IDOC ---> Rec1 (More than one message instance)
     ---> Rec2 (More than one message instance)
I have taken messages of Receiver into a multi line container1
and messages of Receiver 2 into another multi line container2.
HOW can i rotate the loop as many lines of multi line container.

There are two webservices are 2 receivers.
In the idoc there is specific segment , which occurs unbounded,Each occurence we Need to check the value of a particual field and send to corresponding Receiver.
For Ex:
ZE1KONH (1..Unbounded)
   >MSFGN =004 --> Rec1
>> MSFGN==0009 Rec2
It could be like , 1 or more segm for Rec1 and 1 or more segm for Rec2
                        all are for Rec1 or All are for Rec2.
so in the tranformation we need to put all message of Rec1 in corresponding multiline container as well for Rec2. Then i need to send to correspongind Receiver.
So here i need to send all splited messages to appropriate receivers

Thanks folks, I see there are photo editor apps for the iPad. I am downloading one now, and it should work. Good to know I wasn't missing something in the iPad itself. It does not have the capability to rotate or edit pictures without outside help. Thx

Numbers does not have rotated text within cells. You can place a text box over the cell that has rotated text but you cannot rotate text within a cell.

Try plugging it into a computer with iTunes opened. If you see anything that says restore, say no.
Sometimes these issues resolve themselves when you connect the device to iTunes.
What happens when you hold the home and sleep/wake button? I know it doesn't work, but does it shut off at all?
