How do I save a custom template in Numbers '09?

I have done this successfully in the past but cannot do it now. After creating a template, I have tried following the directions:
File > Save as Template
but there is no folder named My Templates in which to save the file. The specified path:
Library/Applications Support/iWork/Numbers/Templates/My Templates
does not exist. This is as far as I get:
Library/Applications Support/iWork '09 (with 2 subfolders, neither of which seems appropriate)
Thanks in advance for any help I receive with this!

As Jerry said, you should not need to find the My Templates folder. Choosing Save As Template from the File menu in Numbers (or Pages) will automatically select that folder. If the path doesn't already exist it will be created the first time you choose to save a template. Here is a screenshot of the save window when I choose Save As Template in Numbers.
Should you want to delete any templates you have created or want to place any you have downloaded in the My Templates folder you will need to navigate to the folder. You are looking in the main HD Library folder not your user/home Library. In Lion the user Library is hidden & you need to go to Finder & hold down the Option key while clicking the Go menu to reveal it.

  • How do I open a custom template?

I feel like I'm missing something very obvious here. I downloaded a custom template from the iWork community and I got a zip file with a bunch of pdf documents in it. In Pages, I can't seem to find a way to open anything in that folder; I don't know how to install a new custom template. Help?

Which template was it, so that we can check it out?
A Pages template will have .pages as an extension and all you have to do is click on it to open it in Pages.
Did you checked what you wrote ?
In the box or custom, a Pages template has the extension ".template", not ".pages".
In the box or custom, a Numbers template has the extension ".nmbtemplate".
Documents with extension ".pages" or ".numbers" aren't templates but standard documents !

  • How do I save a Pages template as a separate document?

How do I save a Pages template as a separate document? I madea schedule template, and now that it is filled in for Sept/Oct, how do I save it as such?

The first time you save a document made from a template you will get the new document/save as dialog. A template is a special kind of document that will open a new, untitled document when you choose it, either in the template chooser or by double-clicking in a Finder window. A Pages template has the .template file extension. If your "template" isn't really a template, you will need to duplicate the document & then save it.

  • How do I save a custom shape to use as a text box?

I've finally worked out how to define a custom shape. Is there any way to save it and use it in other documents?

Save the document in which it's defined as a template.
Every document created from this custom template will embed your custom shape.

  • How do you make a customized template?? When I customize an original template it does not apply it to the whole document! How do you apply style changes permanently to your document???

When one customize text styles or spacing between paragraphs. How do you apply settings permanently to a document???
Should you create a new template???

Happily, when you edit a document created by a given template, the changes aren't stored in the template.
If you want to get a template embedding your changes, you need to use :
    File > Save as Template
then use the newly created custom template as starting point.

  • How can I save a Custom Workspace in Illustrator CC?

I believe I've found a major bug in Illustrator CC ...or to put it more aptly...what appears to be an omission. The help topic path that tells how to save a custom workspace in previous versions does not exist in Illustrator CC. Has this option been reconfigured or simply forgotten? Please enlighten me if you have the answer. I'm using a Trial Version.

You can easily find the location of the new document profiles. When setting up a new document, go to the menu of profiles, then select "Brwose". THis takes you directly to the folder.
Use your operating system's tools to display that folder in the Windows Navigator.

  • How do you save a custom search filter for projects/ library?

Is there a way to save a customized default for the way I will use search filter options?
I've looked everywhere... It seems the seach filter for every project just wants to behave on it's own accord.
Most of the time, I just want to search different projects the same way with one, filtered result!

The Filter settings are sticky.  Every container listed on the Library tab of the Inspector keeps it's own Filter settings, set to whatever was last used.
I'm not aware of any way to set a default Filter.
You could create a Folder and put a Smart Album in that Folder with "Source" set to the Folder.  Any Albums or Projects you put in the Folder become the superset for the Filter you set in the Smart Album.  This is a pretty sophisticated set-up, however.  What is the filter you need, and how often do you need it?

  • How do you save a custom voicemail greeting when upgrading?

Upgrading my iPhone 5s to a 6 plus and need to save my custom voicemail greeting which was recorded by a celebrity. Don't  know the custom voicemail greeting is stored and don't want to lose it.

    Hey Reindeerdad!
If you are just looking to preserve that greeting, you could try www.SaveMyVM.com.  They can create a digital recording of that greeting for you.
However, there is also some third-party software you can install on your mac that gives you the ability to extract voicemail messages from your iPhone.  I'm not sure if it works for greetings, but I think it probably would here is a link: How To: Save Your iPhone's Voicemails For Safekeeping | pinglio
    I hope that helps!

  • How can I delete a custom template in Pages 09

I have just bought Pages 09.  I creates a custom template , however I would like to delete it from "My Templates"  . I am using Lion 10.74 and am new to Mac.

Pages stores those you created & saved as templates in (your account) > Library > Application Support > iWork > Pages > Templates > My Templates. The user's Library is hidden in Lion but it is easy to open. In Finder, hold down the Option key while clicking on the Go menu & your user Library will appear about halfway down the list.

  • How do I get the custom template working?

Hi, I have asked this here before and got a half answer, but on trying the answer things didn't work out, so I'm trying again as I feel the previous thread has been lost.
I want to create a custom list template so that I can display a list of News Announcements on a home page as described on this page Business Catalyst Help | Using custom templates for modules
I have done all it says; created a list template and saved it as listHome.tpl in the Layouts/Announcement folder. On the page I have linked to it with the following code
    {module,announcement,a template=”/Layouts/Announcement/listHome.tpl”}
But it doesn't generate a list, the page merely displays the code. Seems simple enough, yet it won't work. Can anybody tell me where I am going wrong please?
    Thanks

Thanks Adam, yes, I was getting the raw code, but correcting the code to module_announcement has fixed that. However, I am now getting 'No News found' instead which is not what I want either. On the news page I am using {module_announcement,a,}  This gives me the list of news announcements using the original list template, which is what I want on that page, you can see it here News  But on the home page, using this
    {module_announcement,78981, a template=”/Layouts/Announcement/listHome.tpl”}
I get 'No News found' as the output, I was expectign just the one news announcement with the id of 78981. Ideally I want the code to generate the latest 2 news announcements.
(This has also been posted on Linkedin BC Cafe, what ever solution I get I will post here for future reference for others).

  • How do you save a customized stationery email.

I can't seem to find a way of saving customized stationery.
I put my pictures into the stationery template, no problem and I could send this but the "Save as Stationery" option in the File menu is always greyed out. This means I can't find a way of creating my own Stationery for future use, I have to make it from scratch each and every time.
    What am I missing here

I was surprised that no one wanted to answer this question.
    I waited long enough.
I still don't have this working properly
