  • How can I save the order of photos in albums? Even though I have set as album order they revert back

How can I save the order of photos in albums in Elements 11? Even though I have set as album order they revert back to original order.

Could you confirm that when you re-open the sorted album, the display order on the top bar just over the browsing space is still in 'album' order ? That order may have been changed to a date order. For me, I get the order of the last album I opened, not necessarily the 'album' order of the present album.

  • Using O2M I imported my contacts into Address Book. However upon exiting the contacts are not saved. This is on a new Macbook Pro Lion OS. How does one save the newly imported contacts?

Using the program O2M I successfully imported emails from Outlook 2003 to Mail, and calendar events to iCal. However, repeated attempts to import contacts to Address Book have failed. The contacts appear to import, but when I close Address Book and reopen it, the contacts are gone. I tried File-Save, but Save is greyed out. This is a new Macbook Pro with the latest Lion OS. I wonder if O2M has not been updated to work with Lion. Or is there something I am overlooking in the import process?

Hi Denisej and others who have encountered the same problem,
I tried your work around. Unfortunately it did not work out for me because in my contacts there are an unknown number that still "refused" to be imported like that. When such a contact was in the group I selected for import the whole lot would be lost again after re-opening Address Book. Finally that meant that I had to import each contact one-by-one, each time with the need to close down Address Book. A job to go nuts and end up with a mouse injury. So I decided to use the Migration Assistant that Lion now offers
    https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3284404
together with Windows Migration Assitant on my old PC. Obviously both Mac and PC have to be on the same network. For this I did not need to do anything special. Both make use of the same router and that is apparently sufficient. When migrating the contacts Lion creates a new account, so you need to log in to that new account to see your migrated contacts. I used the Export Address Book Archive function in the Address Book menu to copy the lot to my own Apple account. I got rid of the new account and I was finally where I wanted to be in the first place.

  • How do I transfer some folders of photo from one macbook to another? I do not want the complete library right now

How do I transfer some photos from an external harddrive (with backup data from one macbook) to another macbook? Ideally, I'd also like to transfer albums as well that photos are linked to.  I need to do this because my macbook is broken and I need to work on photos for the holidays.  I'm not interested in transferring the full library necessarily at this time..but if that is the easiest thing to do let me know.  There are already some photos in the "new" computer's iphoto.

Thank you very much Terence for your input.  I successfully transferred the library and attempted to open it on my "new" mac.  However, unfortunately, I discovered the OS and iphoto have not been updated for some time so it couldn't open..argh.
My photos were in a 9.4.3 version of iPhoto, so it looks like to get that on this new computer I have to upgrade to snow leopard and then to Lion (not wanting to go all the way up in OS necessarily if it will slow my computer down more).  However, is there a way to open a version 9.4.3 library on an iPhoto app from snow leopard?

  • How do I burn a DVD of photos on my MacBook Pro

I have tried several times to burn photos but I get messages that it is unable to burn the disc.
I also tried to burn a slideshow with music to a DVD and that didn't work, either.
So, basically, exactly what kind of DVD should I be using?
And which of the options should I choose for the kind of DVD I want, which is I want to be able to play it on a DVD player to watch on a TV.

You have to buy an external Blue-ray player.
Check this site out. Click on the "CD/DVD/Blue-ray tab.

    Hope this helps.

  • How do i save my documents and move to another macbook

Hi I have to give my macbook pro back to my boss as I no longer work for him , but I have a lot of word documents, pictures and my itunes collection on here. I will buy a new macbook pro soon but he wants it back this week. What is the best way to save all the data so I can put it back to its factory settings. Although he may want some work files.

Thanks A Brody for your reply, it is a 2011 version. I have just spoken to apple as I needed to buy a new one so just bit the bullet and got one. They have said either by drop files or through connecting through usb cables ( or something) They have kindly sent me some info.
Need to save some work files so cant do a full restore, but appreciate you giving me the answer.
I love this macbook pro 17 inch but interested to see if I love the newer 15 inch more, probably as it will be mine.
Thanks for the advice and quickness of response, great to know we have forums like this.

  • How do I save a photo or video to sd card?

How do I save a video or photo to SD card?

If you have created one on the phone, then you can use the file manager in the phone to copy and move from phone to SD.  If it is on your computer, plug in the phone and use like a flash drive.  If you want to make videos on the phone and save to SD, go into the camera settings and select Storage location.  Make sure it is SD.

  • How can I save zoom setting for a DOCUMENT so it opens at that setting?

I find an optimal zoom setting for a document I'd like to use (say 42%) and want the document to open at that setting.  I save the document with File>Save Copy.  However when I open the document, it opens at the DEFAULT zoom setting set in the Preferences for program.  If I change the zoom level here to what I desire for that document, obviously all documents will open at that default setting.
How can I save my desired zoom level for a document, which will most likely be different for EACH document, and have the saved document open at that setting?
This seems like a trivial exercise / feature that should be easy to implement BOTH by the programmers of the software and the user setting the zoom level.
Also, I want to suppress the bookmarks sidebar.  I save without the bookmarks but the documents opens with the side bar.  Can't THIS be set for each document?
Why is it so difficult to tailor the viewing of a document to exactly what the viewer wants?

OK.  Sorry for the mistake in posting the question here.
Again it seems like it should be trivial to save a document in the Reader with a viewer's desired zoom setting.  I find this very helpful as I like to use a zoom setting that when scrolling down the document only one full page of the document is viewed (like turning the pages of a book).  Without this feature, partial pages are displayed when scrolling unless one experiments to find the correct zoom setting (often it is 60%).  One must do this every time one opens the same document, unless one remembers the zoom setting.
    Oh well ....

  • How can I save photos to a CD?  (Elements 11)

How can I save a group of photos to a CD?  Elements 11

    lolagolucky:
Welcome to the Apple Discussions. I'm not sure how you burned that CD but one way to get a PC compatible disk of the jpgs is the following:
1 - insert a blank CD in your drive and mount it on the desktop.
2 - select all of the files you want to transfer.
3 - go to the File->Export menu option.
4 - in the Export Photos pane click on File Export
5 - select full sized images and check the Use extension box.
6 - click on the Export button.
7 - in the navigation window that comes up navigate to the CD on the desktop and select it and click the OK button.
8 - when the export is complete check the files on the CD to make sure they are the full sized files (I got aliases one time so check before all burns).
9 - drag the CD to the Trash icon to burn the disk of photo.
This method create a universal format readable by both PCs and Macs. Good luck.

  • When a .jpg is received from an e-mail, how do I save it to a library?

When I receive an e-mail that contains a .jpg photo, how do I save it to a photo library. If this can be done, does it have to be in photo library, or can I create a new photo folder just for example, e-mailed photos. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Have searched, but could not find the answers.
    Thanks Guy

Thank you very very much. That worked. Only one small problem. I created a folder named ( Family Library ). Added two photos to it, checked the box to synch, and it added it perfectly. Except that in the main ( Photo Library ) there were originally 9 photos, and now there are 11. The two additional photos are the two I just created in the ( Family Library ). Is this correct, or am I doing something wrong. Again, thanks for your prompt and very helpful reply. Guy
