How do I save a Pages doc as a jpeg on the NEW Pages version?

On the old Pages I could just click print and it came up as an option under the pdf button but the new one doesn't have that. Does anyone know how to do this? thanks!

I never saw such item in Pages Print dialog.
Maybe you installed some filters from an other application.
Here is what I get (with the ABRACADABRA filters).

How do I move page order in Thumbnails view in the new pages? (which is driving me nuts btw)

I'm really struggling with the new pages, having used the old version so much I just can't get the hang of this one - so much has changed:( Really wish I hadn't bothered but now have too many documents created in it that I can't open on old version as it doesn't let you (mump mump - well I am scottish).
So in the old version I used thumbnail view to move about the order of the pages (really useful when making up artwork for magazines etc). Anyone know how to do it on the new version?
Also can't seem to view document in '2 up' - 2 pages side by side (also very handy for magazines etc).
Also the tables facility doesn't let you move borders of individual cells - you can only move the whole column - I can't even select them.
I could go on but will go before I start the 'pages shake'.

Scottish or not, your best option is to retreat to the last good version of the app, Pages '09.
Cut your losses.

How do you copy one page from a document into a new document? The new pages does not allow you to copy a thumbnail

In the old pages you could simply copy the thumbnail and past a certain page into a different document.
The new pages does not allow you to do this.

That and 95 other things it does not let you do.
Pages '09 should still be in your Applications/iWork folder, use that instead.

Is the new Pages now in control

I'd like to continue using 09 Pages, but the new Pages downloaded on my iMac without my request or permission now seems to be in control -- that is even if I do not have the new Pages running, all my previous docs produced with 09 Pages come up in the new pages with a query do I want to convert it to the new pages...which means as long as the new pages is in my applications I will never be able to use the 09 Pages. Catch 22 +. Is the new pages that good, and am I going to lose some features I like by going to this new version which has been forced on me. Maybe I'm overreacting, but I would like to have some say in the matter.

Take a look at the FileSelector
First make sure the FileSelector is expanded so you can see the directory and sidebar. That's what the little disclosure triangle up by the filename is for. Once the FS has been expanded to look like the above picture, look to see what subdirectory has been selected. Use the SideBar to select an appropriate one.

Thanks for the quick reply. I figured out how to get the desired results by using tagging. For anyone who may reference this post in the future, I went to "Customize" in the top right corner of Adobe, then selected "Create new tool set...", looked under "accessiblity and found the "tag" option. Hit ok, tag is added to the toolbar. Then I highlighted the dataset in the PDF that was relevant to the output format, then clicked "tag", saved as spreadsheet. Sorry I can't provide more details on how tagging works or if there's a more elegant solution available, but I'm sure one's out there.

You can't. You can export Pages files as PDF documents but you cannot save a PDF into Pages. It does not support that feature.
There are tons of PDF apps in the App Store aside from iBooks. Adobe Reader makes a pretty decent PDF app that will store, annotate, rename, highlight, use form fields, sign pdf's, and organize in folders. It is free as well. There are other apps, you just have to Serach for them.

Thank you so much - so simple! I had been using the 'share' option (worked in old Pages) and only had icloud or email as options. I have to attach word documents to emails to send to work. I don't want to use icloud because it's too public and I don't trust it. Also, you have to be able to access the internet and I need word documents on my USB stick for work where there's no internet.
I love my Mac but I do wish Apple would remember those of us living in less-than-perfect computer-land.

Is there any way to save a pages document as a Microsoft document? Additionally, is there any way to save a numbers document as an Excel document?
Since I have downloaded the new Mavericks software with the new Pages, Numbers, and Keynote, I can't save anything as a Microsoft document anymore. Can anyone please help? I'm a student needing an answer because most institutions only use Microsoft. This is an extremely upsetting fall back for Apple if there isn't a way to accomplish these activities.
Also, if anyone has any information if Apple is going to provide new drivers for old HP printers and scanners, please inform me. My multi-functional printer is obsolete (according to a phone conversation with HP). Currently, I have to jump through hoops to get the scanner to work and Preview crashes most of the time (with the Mavericks update).

iWork does not let you save a document as an Office document by default, so you have to do some extra steps. First open the document and go to File menu (on the menu bar) > Export to, and choose the Office app to create a document for Microsoft Office.
Respecting to printer drivers, Apple does not provide newer drivers for an obsolete printer. Instead, see if Gutenprint works > http://gimp-print.sourceforge.net/MacOSX.php

Anyone know how to change the default font for the new pages? Apparently it does not even come up when I search the 'Help' section of Pages. The level of incompetence in this new version seems breathtaking

I cannot find how to change the default font in the new Pages. It does not appear in the Help area when I search for it. I am never sing Helvetica for my standard documents and cannot seem to change it. What am I missing? And why does Pages help not have an easy answer?

You open a blank template and change the font to you liking. Remember to also get all the styles changed with new font. Then Save As Template. Now you have a template with the font you like.

Pages app unexpectedly quit whilst I was in the middle of a document. I can now not open it AT ALL. I find it's not just that particular document that won't open, but any of my Pages docs will not open using the current version of Pages. Any help?

I also managed to read a few other discussions about Pages and files not being able to open. I actually went to the last back-up and restored the computer from that and everything seemed to work ok again, which is great!...advice from another discussion I think you may have been involved in PeterB. Thanks for the advice...also this advice, as I will make a note of trying to open using the Shift key if it happens again and see what happens...might be an easier first option than restoring from a back-up. Thans heaps for the help!
