How do I save a photo from Mail in Photos?

When I receive a photo from a friend via e-mail in Mail I have had the option of saving it to iPhoto.   The button at the top of the e-mail still says "Save to iPhoto."  How do I change this to "Save to Photos?"

If you have photos in an email:
Press the photo for as long until a list pops out; Save Image or Copy. To save the photo to your Camera Roll, tap Save Image.

Can I email a photo to my iPad Mail account and then transfer the photo to an album on my iPad Photo page?

Yes. When you open the email on the iPad, tap and hold down on the image and you will get the option to Save Image. Select that and the photo will be saved to the Camera Roll in the Photos app.

  • How do you save photos from import or Photo Stream to an album?

How do you save photos from import or photo stream to an album?  I have a MacBook Air (which keeps telling me my start-up disk is full) and I am trying to organize photos so there aren't duplicates and triples.  I have photos in events, last import, photos and albums....I feel like they are all taking up space.  If I move a photo from photo stream to an album, then delete the photo from photo steam its deleted from the album.  That doesn't make sense to me.  There should be a way to clean up photo stream, and events, and last import by putting photos into albums.  Even more bizarre; I imported photos from my 4S, and only a fraction of them transferred over.
I am completely lost.  Any help would be appreciated.
    Thank you!

    Sarah,
Only the photos you are seeing in the events and the Photo Stream will take up space. iPhoto stores each photo only one. After you import it, it will be assigned to one event.
Then you can use it in many albums and projects. Using the photo this way will only reference the one single copy of the photo in the event. The albums don't store the photos and do not require additional space. If you delete a photo from an event, it will be removed from all albums that have been using the this photos.
What you are seing are not actually duplicate photos but different ways to access the same photos.
The "Last event" is the same event as the last one you imported. It is there for a quick access to your recently imported photos.  Photos is a quick access to all photos in your library as an endless stream of photos. These are also no duplicates.
So if you want to save space and delete photos, do that by browsing your events. Deleting a photo from an event will delete the original image file and remove the photo from all albums, books, and other products. You have only duplicate photos, if you are seing the same photo twice in an event.
Even more bizarre; I imported photos from my 4S, and only a fraction of them transferred over.
That is a different problem, but it may be related to to fact that you need to free space.
If you get a warning, that the system needs space, don't do anything but update the backup of your mac and move files to an external disk to free space.
It is not save to keep working, when the system is running out of space.
How much free space do you have? Anything below 15GB free space is really critical.

I have real a lot of posts that say to click Command+Option while opening iPhoto and this will open the Photo Library Repair window, but... this is not happening.
Be sure you're holding the correct keys and that you're holding them long enough. Depress them before clicking on iPhoto and don't let go until the menu shows up.
If you don't want to lose those photos, make a back up now. Hopefully it's not too late.

  • How do I save my journals from editing (red ribbon).

I have iPad 2 and the iPhoto app.
How do I save my journals from editing (red ribbon).
My problem: I created several journals then I went back to iPad photos and deleted the photos I used in my journals which deleted them from my journals also.
The instructions stated if the photos were in a journal they would not be deleted. It did have a photo of a journal with a red ribbon, the red ribbon indicates journals can not be edited. I have not found how to apply the red ribbon to my journals. thanks for any help.
    iPad 2, iOS 5.1

I think the red ribbon only appears if you have downloaded a journal from a different device, i.e. it is more of a 'show' function than a 'share', and the red ribbon is not something you can attach/detach at will. I was testing iPhoto earlier and shared some albums to iCloud, and then deleted the entire iPhoto app. When I reinstalled it, the albums appeared back on my device with shiny red ribbons attached. That's the best I can think of at the moment. Good luck!

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
Do you mean back them up or share them with photo stream.
My webpage here might help you understand the various ways photos can be saved on your device and some of the advantages and disadvantages associated with each method.

How do I save my pics from my phone to iCloud?

iCloud will only backup photos in your camera roll as part of your iPhone backup (where they can only be later restored to your phone, not viewed separately).  It will also add them to photo stream in iCloud, but onkly for 30 days.  You can't use iCloud to permanently back up your photos.  To back up your photos, import them to your computer as explained here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083.

  • Plugin to transfert photo from Mail to iPhoto?

    Hi,
My mother is using 10.3 Mail and iPhoto 5 (ithink, not sure of the version!).
She received many times photos in Mail. She would like a simple way to move pintures from Mail attachement to iPhoto. 10.4 includes a feature like this.
I'd like to know if there is any Mail plugin or any (really easy) hint that can help her move her photos from Mail to iPhoto.
    Thanks

    Steve --
I'm not positive about panther, but what happens if your mother selects the "SAVE" button next to the Paper Clip "Attachments" notice at the bottom of the mail header? (Just above the actual message)
In Tiger, you get the option to download the files, or "Add to iPhoto." Have her check this, OK?

  • Hello, How can I save audios rcvd from whatsup in Iphone 5 ? Thanks

    Hello,
How can I save audios rcvd from whatsup in Iphone 5 ?
    Thanks

You might want to start with reading the iPhone user guide. Basic processes like synching are covered: http://manuals.info.apple.com/MANUALS/1000/MA1565/en_US/iphone_user_guide.pdf
In short, you must use iTunes to synch photos. You can also get more information in this knowledgeable article: iTunes: Syncing photos - Apple Support

All of sudden my Apple Mail won't transfer photos from Mail to iPhoto using the "add to iPhoto" feature in the drop down menu. Do you know how to fix this?

mmchisholm - just so you know you're not alone, I too am having the exact same issue as of latest software update bundle. Have to manually add each photo until Apple issues solution or minor software update.

how do i save my pictures from my iphone 5 to a flash drive?

You would need to import them to the computer first, iOS: Import personal photos and videos from iOS devices to your computer  then copy/move the photos from the computer to the flash drive. There is no way to save directly to a flash drive from the iPhone, there is no connection.
