How do I save a specific layer as an audio file

I needed a second audio file and created a layer and placed my video file that has the audio I want in that layer. I edited the audio in that layer and now I want to save the result as an audio file.. preferably an MP3 file. How do I select a specific layer and save just that layer as an audio file?

I would think with Photoshop you may be able to save it as a video mp4 file then find a Video splitter program to split out the audio. Or use and Audio program in the first place rather the using a program like photoshop that can do some basic video editing.

You could try to see if the "Free PDF to Word Doc Converter version 1.1" will work for you....
I know it will not get you a single page .PDF but if the program works you could get a .Doc of which you might have the possibility to save a single page after editing it !(?)

Would suggest that you make a Bootable Clone of your Drive...
By far the easiest way to make such a Backup, is to use something like
SuperDuper http://www.shirt-pocket.com/
or CCC http://www.bombich.com/
That way, should anything untoward happen...
You will NOT LOSE ANYTHING.
(Get an EHD that is at least equal to your current Drive...)

Yoi should be able to do so.. but unfortunately, for some unknown reason.. you cannot at this time.
Selecting or deselecting the 'Include audio files' option makes no difference... so one can only assume its an unfixed bug at this time.

You can't.
Although kind of roundabout, in Pages you can export as PDF then open in Preview and export as JPG.

IMovie crashed, lost project. How do you SAVE in iMovie? Where's the file?

Just spent 4-5 hours building a complicated movie from a year's worth of footage. At some point, iMovie crashed. I think I lost all those hours of creative decision making, since I cannot see the file when I reopen iMovie.
There is no "open" command in the file menu. There is no "save" command in the file menu.
This would imply that Apple was autosaving for me to save me trouble. Hmm. I can save in almost every program I use, and revert, and save versions.
How do you save a project in iMovie? I don't see save in the file menu, as has been the steadfast tradition of Apple applications since I purchased my first Mac in 1984. What in the blazes have you done with SAVE? It is so basic.
Along the same line, where is the project file located on my hard drive? I would like to open it. Since I assume you have been autosaving to somewhere, could you please let me know where my file is saved.

This just appeared to happen to me too. I tried clicking on the file in Movies/iMovie Projects. That didn't work.
Then, I made a copy of the file in a safe place. I noticed it was 2.2 MB, so something had to be in there. Next, I started iMovie and clicked the Project Library arrow. The project was listed there. I opened it and got back most but not all of the work. It lost a lot of my audio changes. Here's the thing. I worked until about midnight, and then left iMovie up and running til noon. You would think it would have autosaved the changes by the time I came back. I suggest making your own copy of the file now and then, just in case.

Here is one solution, hope it helps. I would like to see this done using clusters and less shift arrays, I'm sure there are a few ways to do this with less wires but i guess that's what sub vi's are for...

Your Waveform has time and data information. You should unbundle it (Get Waveform Components) and use the data array as an input for the Snd Write Wave File.vi (Functions>Graphics&Sound>Sound>Sound File). The 'sound format' input refers to the sampling rate of your waveform, which will tipically be 8000,11025,22050,44100 Hz.
The file is in a PC wave file (.wav) format and can be read by the Snd Read Wave File VI or other applications.
A good example to look at is: Help>Examples>(Directory Structure)Sound>sndExample.llb>Simple Audio Player.vi. There you'll find everything: since how to store and play music, since how to code and decode wav files.

How do you save data into a tab delimited text file?

It sounds simple if we just save the data, but here I have to enter few text entries and write values beside them. For example, if we have results like..
Voltage 5 V
Current 2 mA
Power 1 mW
What VI do you use to save the entries like this in the file. I don't want to use Report Generation VIs as it adds overhead...

I prepared a small vi to give you an idea how it is done. There are probably much better examples available if you look around. But here goes...
It is actually simple. The attached example is not the best approach, but as I said, it is to get you going..
The vi allows you to create a file with the extention of your choice. You can substitute the write to file vi with a write to speadsheet. The appropriate approach is to first open the file, decide if you wish to create, append or overwrite the file, write to the file and close the file.
All the necessary vi's are located inside the Functions Palette under File IO.
