How do I save a spreadsheet as xls?
I have created a spreadsheet for work and am sending it via e-mail. How do I save it as XLS?
I am new to Macs but previously on my PC there was always a 'save as' option.
Thanks.
I am able to answer my own question;
Under the file tab, go to export!

How do I save a spreadsheet in a format compatible for windows users in X mavericks?
How do I save a spreadsheet/ doc/ presentation in a format compatible for windows users in X mavericks?
If you have iWork applications (Pages, Numbers, Keynote), they can export documents / spreadsheets / presentations in formats compatible with Microsoft Office.
Otherwise, you can purchase Microsoft Office for Mac 2011 or Microsoft Office 365 (or Pages and Numbers and Keynote) for your Mac. -

"save as" was removed in the creation of Yosemite (File > Save as) How can I save an existing spreadsheet so that I can modify the data, rename it , and save it as a new document?
rkaufmann87
To address the first part of your response; as unnecessary as it was; save as has not been gone for years!! It is predicated on the operating system in play on ones computer. The software that I was using as recent as six months ago had a "Save as" option in the menu bar. Further, as you may have noted in "babowa's response it is clear that it still exists to this day in apple's most recent software "Yosemite 10.10.2. This appears to be true whether talking about numbers or pages (apps.) Oh, and by the way I am employing the most recent versions offered by Apple! Your car may be five years old but I am sure you still find it very useful. Case and point; it's not gone!!! -

How do I save a spreadsheet in the cloud, for access by iPhone?
The subject says it all.
Until Apple updates the desktop versions of the iWork apps you have to use iCloud.com in a web browser or iTunes to sync files. You could also try e-mail or DropBox. Apple's "official" way is here.

}The xls file is modified but not saved, how do I save the file?
Some of the cells in the xls file contains formulas, because of that, the cells containing formulas dosen't update its value.
if I however save the file manually then the cells are updated. I want to save the xls file automatically from Java.
Any ideas on how to do that? -
How do i save a multi page spreadsheet as a multi page pdf
how do i save a multi page numbers 3.5 spreadsheet as a multi page pdf? has this feature been removed?
I don't use Numbers - so I don't know if it had that option. Here is a kluge, if you print a Numbers sheet to PDF using print from the File menu, then open that PDF file in Preview, then choose the Thumbnail View options you can drag any desired page(s) from that Numbers converted to PDF file to your desktop or folder. Those files will have a (dragged) #.pdf name in them.
Edit: I misunderstood you to say how do you print multiple page PDF Numbers as Multiple page PDF.
To Jerold's reply below, you have to make sure you select all pages. I think it defaults to current page. You can also export via Numbers to PDF. -

Hi,
I know the function "write to spreadsheet file.vi"
can append the data
to file. You can use the "concatenate strings" to display the date,
time as well as data... Hope this help.

I just sent an email to to 50 people and would like to save those email addresses as a list in Thunderbird.
How do I do that?
And how do I save an address List in Thunderbird in an Excel spreadsheet? (I can do the reverse -- copy a column from Excel into a New List and it will create a List.)
I am involved in a nonprofit and these issues are very important in terms of managing email mailings, etc.
Thanks.A Mailing List is a sub list of an address book
An address book can have more than one Mailing List..
Any contact in an address book which has a valid email address, can be placed in a Mailing List.
download this addon:
https://nic-nac-project.org/~kaosmos/morecols-en.html
install addon info:
https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/add-ons-and-extensions-faq?esab=a&s=insyall+addon&r=0&as=s#w_how-do-i-install-an-add-on
Then in the header of an email you sent where it says TO and lists the contacts.
click on one of those email address/contact name and from the drop down selection choose:
'SAve recipients addresses' > 'as list(all)'
A pop up appears with all the names listed
make sure you have selected the correct address book under which the list will appear.
give the list a name
click on OK
You should then see a sub list under the selected address book in 'Address Book'.
You can save any address book.
Select the address book
Tools > Export
choose where to save
Give filename
Save as type 'comma separated .csv
click on Save,
This csv file can be opened by Excel -
How do I save a PDF as an excel file when the PDF is horizontal. Adobe tries to rotate the page, but the data is entered in an horizontal format.
Thanks for the quick reply. I figured out how to get the desired results by using tagging. For anyone who may reference this post in the future, I went to "Customize" in the top right corner of Adobe, then selected "Create new tool set...", looked under "accessiblity and found the "tag" option. Hit ok, tag is added to the toolbar. Then I highlighted the dataset in the PDF that was relevant to the output format, then clicked "tag", saved as spreadsheet. Sorry I can't provide more details on how tagging works or if there's a more elegant solution available, but I'm sure one's out there.

Currently, I have the following basic VI setup to save Data from my PCI6221 Data Aquisition Card. The problem I'm having is I keep getting the last iteration of the while loop in the measurement file and that's pretty much it. When I try to index the data leaving the loop it gives me a 2D array of Data which cannot be input into the "Write to Measurement File" VI. How would I save this to a useful Data/time step format? I was wondering of a way to continuously collect the Data and then save it in a large measurement file that I would manipulate in Matlab/excel? Am I using the wrong type of loop for this application? I also noticed my Dynamic Data array consists of data, time, timestep and then a vector of the data taken. Is it possible to just get a vector of the time change per sample alongside the data? Sorry for the barrage of questions but any help would be greatly appreciated, and thanks in advance!

basic DAQ.vi 120 KBThere is a VI in the Express > Signal Manipulation palette called "From DDT" that lets you convert from the Dynamic Data Type to other data types that are more compatible with operations like File I/O....for instance, you could convert your DDT into a 2D array and use the Write To Spreadsheet File.vi. Just a thought...
