How do i save bookmarks to my hard drive?

how do i save my bookmarks to my hard drive?

Firefox stores the bookmarks and the browser history in places.sqlite and no longer uses an HTML file or creates an HTML backup for the bookmarks.<br />
There are 10 rotating daily JSON backups (bookmarks-####-##-##.json) in the bookmarkbackups folder within the Firefox profile folder, one for each day that Firefox is started.
You can use this button to go to the Firefox profile folder:
*Help > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Directory: Show Folder (Linux: Open Directory; Mac: Show in Finder)
You can export the bookmarks in Firefox to an HTML file:
* Bookmarks > Show All Bookmarks > Import & Backup > Export HTML
You can also create a JSON backup:
* Bookmarks > Show All Bookmarks > Import & Backup > Backup
* An HTML backup doesn't support tags and annotations, so if you want to preserve those then you need to use a JSON backup.
* Restoring a JSON backup will replace all existing bookmarks, so existing bookmarks are lost.
* Importing an HTML backup will merge the imported bookmarks with existing bookmarks, so you do not lose the bookmarks that you already have, but you may get duplicate bookmarks if some already exist.

No sure I understand your question but in PSE you can save the file in almost most file formats from the editor window by going to:
    File >> Save As
If you want to send the file to somebody who can edit it in their copy of PSE then you should save it as .psd  or .pdd format
    Hope this helps.

Re: Plugins. To update Silverlight, I'm asked to save Silverlight .exe to my hard drive. I just don't know how to do this. Can you explain?
    Thanks.

Go to [http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkID=229320 http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkID=229320]. click on Save File. Then, after it is done downloading, double-click the file name in the Download's window, then let the program run (you will probably need to close Firefox)

  • How to I save to an external hard drive that is used on a PC also?

I have a Iomega hard drive that i have lots of stuff on from my laptop (windows) at home. I need to be able to se it both on mac and pc as I don't have mac at home.
Annoyingly the when it is plugged into the mac the external hard drive becomes read only.
Is there a way around this? I need to be able to save on it as I am running out of room on my user area in my place of work.
    Thanks
    Cat

It's probably formatted NTFS, which is read-only in Mac.
The only formats the Macs and PCs can both read and write to is FAT32 and EXFAT.
The simplest thing to do is, if you are able, back up the contents of the iOmega drive, wipe it and reformat it FAT32.  Then copy the contents back to it.
The drive will then be readable and writable in OS X and Windows.
There is a file-size limit in FAT32.  It won't store individual files larger than 4GB.  EXFAT does not have this limit.
OS X disk utility allow you to format drives as FAT32 or EXFAT.  I'm sure you can do it from the Windows side, too.
There is likely some 3rd-party software that will enable OS X to write to NTFS disks.  Something to consider if wiping the iOMega is not an option.

  • How can I restore bookmarks from a hard drive?

I had a hard drive problem and could not run windows in the hard drive.I was able to copy the drive to another drive.
Now what I would like to do would be to find a file that has the bookmarks on that drive at included on the new hard drive.
    Can this be done?
We would I find the files?

The bookmarks, along with the history is stored in a file called places.sqlite inside the profile folder. In Windows 7 the default location for the profile folder is:
    C:\Users\<Windows user name>\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\<profile folder>
The profile folder name will typically be xxxxxxxx.default, where xxxxxxxx is a random set of characters. The profile folder is normally hidden, to display it see http://kb.mozillazine.org/Show_hidden_files_and_folders
With Firefox closed you can copy the places.sqlite file from this location into your current profile folder. You can recover more than just the bookmarks, for details see [[Recovering important data from an old profile]].

  • How do you save voicenotes to your hard drive?

I am trying to save my voicenotes from my device to my laptop harddrive using the Media Manager software.  When I did this, it converted these .amr files to .mp3 files.  Now I cannot open or preview these mp3 voicenotes...when I try, I get a "Cannot Find Required Files" message.
Can't I simply save them to my harddrive as .amr files?

DVD Decrypter is definitely NOT legal, besides it's a Windows based app so it wouldn't run on a Mac. Here's the current info on DVD Decrypter.
On 24th of November, 2005, Macrovision Europe acquired full rights to the DVD Decrypter software and have changed its licensing terms. Effective immediately, they have decided to withdraw all distribution rights from all third party companies. Thus, distributing DVD Decrypter is now as illegal as it would be to distribute cracked copies of Windows operating system or pirated copies of games.

How do I save and import my bookmarks from another hard drive? When I try to open the installed Firefox on the old drive, it (obviously) opens a browser from the new main drive, free of bookmarks. Is there a way I can save the bookmarks on the old drive without opening a browser?
The guts of my computer were rearranged and I got a new main hard drive. My old one is still in there and I can get stuff from it, but when I go to the Mozilla folder on the old one, I can't figure out if there's anything I can do to get all my bookmarks from that drive to my new one, where Firefox is newly installed.

If you open Firefox then Firefox will always use the default profile folder as found via profiles.ini on your system drive.
You either need to import the file in your current default profile or copy the file to your current profile folder while Firefox is closed.
Firefox 3 stores the bookmarks and the browser history in [http://kb.mozillazine.org/places.sqlite places.sqlite] and no longer creates an HTML backup by default.
There are also (five) JSON backups in the bookmarkbackups folder within the Firefox profile folder.
You can either copy the file places.sqlite to your [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox Firefox Profile Folder] or import the most recent JSON backup from the bookmarkbackups folder of that old profile.

"Application Data" in XP/Win2K and "AppData" in Vista/Windows 7 are hidden folders.
    See http://kb.mozillazine.org/Show_hidden_files_and_folders
Go to: Control Panel > Folder Options > "View" tab > under "Hidden files and folders", select "Show hidden files and folders".
You may want to un-check the box "Hide extensions for known file types" to see the file extensions of all files.

When you import images or create other data files, file them in the appropriate places on your internal drive, don't delete them and let Time machine back them up.

I believe what the original poster wants to do is preserve the bookmarks of a Word file into the interactive bookmarks feature of the PDF specification, so that the bookmarks appear as a clickable linked table of contents when that Word file is converted to PDF. You see this in every ebook or iBook. This is easy to do when converting Word to PDF in Microsoft Windows, but I am not sure it is possible from Mac Word because everybody complains about it on the Mac side.
Converting bookmarks to a clickable PDF TOC is easy to do in other software on the Mac, like InDesign. Apple Pages might do it too, but I'm not sure.

  • Hope yall can help. my PC crashed, how to i get a copy of the bookmarks of the hard drive? There are 3 users on the hard drive!

You can find your personal data including the bookmarks in the Firefox profile folder.
    *C:\Users\&lt;user&gt;\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\&lt;profile&gt;\
The "AppData" folder in Windows Vista and later Window 7+ versions and the "Application Data" folder in XP/Win2K are hidden folders.
