How do I save changes to about:config?

I change the keyword url in about:config but don't know how to save this change. If just close the tab or the browser, the old settings reappear.
How do I save changes to about:config?

Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
*Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

  • How do I save changes to a PDF with AxAcroPDFLib.AxAcroPDF?

    I am using C# and have created a regular Windows form. I have used COM and registered AxAcroPDFLib.AxAcroPDF. Here is my code;
    axAcroPDF1.LoadFile("myfile.pdf")
    axAcroPDF1.Show();
    MessageBox.Show("Showing...");
This works fine. But, just like the browser, I cannot save changes to the PDF. I have the full version of Adobe Acrobat installed, Standard 8.0. I also have the Pro. version 7.1.0 on another PC. When I click save I just get prompted to save it locally, just like I was in the browser.
If I edit these normally, just via Adobe Acrobat Standard, I can save my changes. I cannot do it via the AxAcroPDFLib library.
How do I save changes to my adobe acrobat pdf file in my program? Thank you for any help. please.

I did this after I wrote this. I have looked at the documentation but I can't find what I am looking for. Is there another way to open a file for viewing that has the full capabilities or using the normal program...one that uses something besides AxAcroPDFLib.AxAcroPDF. The sample that did have a view used AxAcroPDFLib.AxAcroPDF so it wasn't helpful. All I need is normal program functionality of adobe standard or profession within the application. The users have a full version installed on their PC.
    Thanks again.

  • TS3276 how do I save changes in mail accounts preferences?

how do I save changes in mail accounts preferences? I add and delete mail accounts but when I close and then reopen mail, my changes are not saved, despite messages within the mail window saying that my changes are saved.

You can use an add-on to set the zoom level for all sites. For example, [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/nosquint/ NoSquint] and [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/default-fullzoom-level/ Default FullZoom Level].

  • How do you save changes made in iPhoto, and export the changed file.  It keeps reverting back to the original.

How do you save changes made in iPhote, and export the changed picture file? When I select export, current format, it reverts to the original, wiping out all my work.

Try trash the com.apple.iPhoto.plist file from the HD/Users/ Your Name / library / preferences folder.
(On 10.7 or later: Hold the option (or alt) key while clicking on the Go menu in Finder to access the User Library)
(Remember you'll need to reset your User options afterwards. These include minor settings like the window colour and so on. Note: If you've moved your library you'll need to point iPhoto at it again.)
    What's the plist file?
For new users: Every application on your Mac has an accompanying plist file. It records certain User choices. For instance, in your favourite Word Processor it remembers your choice of Default Font, on your Web Browser is remembers things like your choice of Home Page. It even recalls what windows you had open last if your app allows you to pick up from where you left off last. The iPhoto plist file remembers things like the location of the Library, your choice of background colour, whether you are running a Referenced or Managed Library, what preferences you have for autosplitting events and so on. Trashing the plist file forces the app to generate a new one on the next launch, and this restores things to the Factory Defaults. Hence, if you've changed any of these things you'll need to reset them. If you haven't, then no bother. Trashing the plist file is Mac troubleshooting 101.

  • Save user modified 'about:config' settings in FF 9

Nifty YouTube vids about increasing speed. Go to 'about:config' and modify pipelining & persistent settings. However; when I restart FF and check, the settings are back to what they were before. So, how can I save the settings?

  • How can I set Firefox (in about:config?) to NEVER bother me with update notifications?

Welp, the question says it all. Or almost all of it. I DETEST the latest, MENU-LESS version of Firefox (and it DOESN'T help that, by standing on my head and spitting wooden nails in a particular direction, I CAN actually find everything contained in the old menus), and therefore I force-installed the previous version (28.0), but my problem is that I am still pestered with prompts that urge me to upgrade to version 29.0. I resent THE HELL OUT OF THAT! I resent ANYTHING NANNY-LIKE that is IN MY FACE!
So, I thought that by setting certain app.update parameters, I could be rid of that UPDATE SCOURGE - and in fact, it seems to have worked on my Linux-only desktop - but, alas, no, it is still there, still very much IN MY FACE on my dual-boot (openSUSE & Win7) desktop PC!
What, then, can I do to be rid of those update prompts? (Note that I am hoping that at some point in a not too distant future, Mozilla will offer, for each new version, a WUS and an I'M THE MAN variant, where the latter allows the user to steer the vehicle, as it were... if this never materializes, then at some point (when I deem Firefox 28.0 to be too unstable to use any longer), I will ditch Firefox in favor of an alternative that retains a semblance of the male's hobby-garage look (as oppose to HER slick, everything-hidden, kitchen-cabinet look!).
    Thanks!
I am running openSUSE 13.1 in dual-boot iwith Window 7, and it is only on the SUSE interface that I am having the problem (on Win7, earlier versions allow me to tick a 'don't install anything, ever' box via preferences, rather than having to seek a solution in about:config). Right now I am using Firefox 28.0, having force-downgraded from the latest version.

The Link I gave you above won't tweak Firefox but rather give you a brief overview on what's new in Firefox 29.
The link below will show you how to customize Firefox 29 to look like previous versions of Firefox before 29.

I also mentioned you can toggle some prefs in about:config to disable automatic updating
You can set these prefs in about:config to disable automatic updating:<br>
    app.update.auto - false<br>
    app.update.enabled - false<br>
    app.update.silent - false<br>

You can use an add-on to set the zoom level for all sites. For example, [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/nosquint/ NoSquint] and [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/default-fullzoom-level/ Default FullZoom Level].

  • How to remove duplicate entries in about:config

I've got duplicate listings for browser.cache.memory.capacity in about:config. I'd like to remove one and leave one, but I can't seem to do this, nor have I found any FAQ etc. with directions on how to do this. Please advise. Thanks very much

Right-click (or control-click) on a preference and choose '''Reset''', then re-start Firefox. This preference does not exist by default and this method will delete the preference. This preference should be an integer, if you have one set as a string then reset that one to delete it.

  • How do I save changes to "Energy Saver" that stay in effect after rebooting.

I have changed the sleep settings for the hard disk and display for my iMac but after I shut down and the start up again, the settings are back to the default settings.  How can I save these changes and avoid having to do this change every time I boot up?
    Tim

Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, or by a peripheral device.
Set the Energy Saver preferences the way you want them.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Boot in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output andWi-Fi on certain iMacs. The next normal boot may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin. Check the settings while in safe mode. Have they been reverted? If so, set them again. After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test.

  • How to make/save changes to the file - /etc/httpd/httpd.conf - in Terminal

I'm new to Unix/Terminal and am attempting to make changes in the Apache Web server's configuation file - /etc/httpd/httpd.conf - so that I can use PHP locally. (The "LoadModule php4" has a "#" mark in front of it which I am attempting to remove.) This approach is suggested in the book "Dreamweaver MX 2004 with asp, coldfusion, and php." The book includes instructions on how to adjust the files using pico in Terminal. But the book doesn't explain how to work with Unix/Terminal to enable the right access permission to save the changes in Terminal. I've been able to make the changes in pico the book recommends, but I'm not able to save the changes. I'm the only user of the computer.
Please advise how to be able to save the changes. Thank you!

    jamesk,
httpd.conf is owned by 'root'. therefore, to save your changes you need to use 'sudo' when editing the file. before you do that, you should type in
    man sudo
and read about what sudo actually does. be aware that it can give you all-encompassing power to do many things - including messing things up.
once you have read about sudo, first do (substitute full paths, if necessary - e.g. /etc/httpd/httpd.conf for httpd.conf)
    sudo cp httpd.conf httpd.conf.bak
to backup your httpd.conf file (in case you make an error), then do
    sudo nano httpd.conf
to make your changes, then save the file.
    then do
    sudo apachectl configtest
to test changes to the server config (it should let you know if there is an error).
    finally do
    sudo apachectl graceful
to restart the server and re-read the config file.
    cheers,
    b

I afraid you cannot save these changes with the F12 developer tool. You could copy these changes to an external editor.
Note  The Changes tab will clear if you close the F12 developer tools, but the changes you made with
DOM Explorer persist until you refresh the webpage.

  • How do I save changes to Transitions?

I have searched the Forum, but can not find the answer.
If I change a setting in Transitions (e.g. change the font in text scrolling) how do I make that change permanent, so that when I use that same Transition again, the 'new' font is used?
    Thanks for the help.

    Sorry about my poor description.
Are there any text tool plugins anyone could recommend that do save any changes you make?

I lock my photos after editing is complete ...
The beauty of non-destructive editing and snapshots (and, now, publish services) is that, just like negatives of old, your editing never has to be "complete."
When I say "complete", I dont mean "finished forever", I mean "finished for now".
I dont know how I do it, but sometimes I end up with AutoSync turned on by accident - last time it happened I hadnt even used AutoSync recently, it turned on by itself, upon restart after a crash I think. Even if my analysis is wrong and its entirely due to operator error - the result is the same: massive inadvertent edits until I detect the condition.
Also, I make another mistake sometimes (I think its me): when fast typing, I end up normalizing exposure across a whole sh-load of photos... - still havent figured out how I do that since I dont even see a shortcut for that. Sometimes I catch it right away, sometimes not until much later.
Another frequent mistake made by newbies a lot and seasoned users upon occasion: forgetting when edits will target multiple photos vs. just one.
I could go on and on... - I love that I can tweak edit settings on a whim, non-destructively, but I dont love it when changes are made inadvertently. Locking does not keep you from editing, just reminds you that it had previously been considered "finished for now" - you can proceed to edit if you wish, or revert to locked state after viewing a detalied list of changes. "Save Metadata" has now become obsolete for me, replaced by "Snapshot & Lock". I dont know about you, but my workflow is:
    - After import, spend a good while editing, until done for now (at which point I snapshot & lock), then optionally at some point in the future:
    - Revisit for re-editing until done for now... If thats just one change: say Exposure +.1, and it was intended, I confirm intention then move on. If I plan to make a few more changes, I unlock until I'm done with it, then relock).
To each their own, but ChangeManager has become my all-time favorite plugin. - Gives me a very warm and fuzzy feeling knowing that my photos will never be changed inadvertently - only intended changes... - I hope Adobe builds this into Lightroom proper in Lr4, but even if they dont, I'm covered. I never realized how much stress it was trying to be ultra-careful all of the time when using Lightroom, to not make inadvertent changes, until that stress was gone...

  • How to delete or change prefs about coloursettings?

    FXPX:
In de text/font-caracter-choise department (rightcorner at top) by clicking on NORMAAL you can make a choise and you save the settings you made in three way's. Then it is stored between the other pre-made-settings by fcpx.
    Question:
    1. how to remove an (self-made) setting or changing the name of it?
    2. how to set my preference (self-made) at the top for quick finding?
I did't found anything about this matter in the help.
    Thanks for a suggestion!

From the Finder, hold down the Option key and select Go > Library.
Navigate to Application Support > Motion > Library > Text Styles
There will be two files for each style: one ends in .molo and the other in .png
Delete both to remove the style.
If you want to rename the style, use the style for some text then Save All Format + Style Attributes with the new name. To get the name to "sort" at the top, precede the name with a number.
You can go into the finder afterwards and delete the old style (I think you should probably quit FCPX first before deleting any resources.)
