How do I save clips to a new length?

Sorry if this is basic, but I can't get it working, and can't figure out how to search for it.
I'm using FCP 5.0.4 on a PPC (non-intel).
I have 11 original source clips which are an HD Apple Intermediate Codec. I need them to be native HDV and each trimmed to a specific length.
I've imported all 11 files into an FCP project that uses Easy Setup for HDV 1080i60.
I have edited all 11 clips to desired length on a sequence.
I've TRIED to use Media Manager to recompress the media to HDV 1080i60 and delete the unused portions of the clips...
BUT
the clips end up getting saved with their original durations (that is, they haven't been saved to the lengths I edited them to in the sequence).
What am I doing wrong? Can anybody walk me through the steps?

In order to let this work with MM you must ONLY select the sequence in the browser.
And DESELECT 'include masterclips outside selection'.
(optional you can select to have handles (=extra length) of your clips.
If you one of those wrong you are asking MM to recompress all your footage.

Thank you so much - so simple! I had been using the 'share' option (worked in old Pages) and only had icloud or email as options. I have to attach word documents to emails to send to work. I don't want to use icloud because it's too public and I don't trust it. Also, you have to be able to access the internet and I need word documents on my USB stick for work where there's no internet.
I love my Mac but I do wish Apple would remember those of us living in less-than-perfect computer-land.

I have an existing Excel file that I am using and making changes to... how do I save it as a new file name?
I click on the 'disk' icon on the top ribbon but that just saves it as the same file-name with an updated time-stamp... that won't work for me.

How do I save clips individually

I'm somewhat new to GB, so this should be an easy one. I started working on a project, then decided that since I'll be importing many clips into a Final Cut Project, that I want all my clips to be saved/stored individually. I checked the package contents of my GB project, but didn't see them there. Is there any easy way to save each clip separately?

for the photos, other music/movie not from itunes, you'll be needing a third party application
for contacts, calendars , photos from camera roll : you could just directly transfer it from your phone to the computer.

How do I save clips as separate files?

I'm new to Premiere Elements but I'm sure that this is a very common situation. I have a bunch of video tapes that I have imported. I set up one project per tape. Each tape has several unrelated sequences for instance Christmas, a basketball game, a couple of birthdays and a vacation. I want to break these into totally separate clips, tag each clip with the pertinant information and use those clips to build movies or albums, for instance all of my kids birthday parties, highlights from all of the basketball games, etc. I've cut the first tape into clips but don't know where to go from here. I would really appreciate advice or pointing me to a good turtorial on this subject. Thanks jimadavis1

HOW DO I SAVE APPLICATIONS INSTALILNG A NEW HARD DRIVE WITH NEW OS?

I recently purchased a used G5 that is loaded with programs. I am getting signs that the hard drive is getting ready to crash. I installed a 1TB hard drive and formatted it. What I want to do is install leopard on the TB hard drive but still transfer all the applications and programs over from the old HD. A lot of the programs I don't have serial codes for. Can I do a new OS instilation on TB HD with new users and everything and still transfer all the programs over that I don't have serials for and them work perfectly without entering in new serials.

How do I save clips without saving an entire project?
I take video of stock car races and I need to save crash clips to make a crash video at the end of the season. I don't have the room to save all the videos from all the nights of racing. I just want to save the clips to a file. Can someone please tell me how to do that in CS3?
I used to use Premiere 6.5 and it was not an issue. I have just started using CS3 and don't see Save Clip As on the menu.

Place the video clip in the source monitor and mark your in/out points around the clip you want to keep. Then, with the source monitor still selected, chose File > Export > Movie. Then, in the export options choose "In to Out" instead of "Entire Clip." You have to set the in/out points and export one at a time (no batch options here).
Another way to approach this is to set your in/out points in the source monitor, drop the clips on the timeline one after the other and then use the project manager function to export a trimmed project. This will actually go through and save an individiual file for each of the clips on the timeline. There's only one "gotcha" here, you just need to make sure that you have a good amount of space trimmed from the original video between each clip (needs to be at least 5-10 frames in my experience...if you add handles in the project manager settings, you need to account for that duration between clips as well).
For example, if you have a crash scene at 01;11;00;00 until 01;11;30;00, but your next scene begins at 01;11;31;00 you will probably want to trim some frames off one clip or the other, or else it will become a single clip.

I have Real-time Infocube (ZCUBSDID) with me. Planning has been done on the cube using BI-IP (like Aggregation level, filter, planning function and planning sequence are present there).
As an Input i have everything in Quality system like I can access query in Bex Anlyzer (Input Ready Query) and also i have workbook associated with the query. SAVE button is also present on workbook which is giving result based on fiscal year and version.
Now my task is to create workbook on Development system with the same functionality as Quality System.
I have same Query available on DEV system also. I created new Workbook but SAVE button is not available in my workbook.
Can anyone suggest how to create SAVE button in my new workbook.
I am new in IP side so please let me know if i can get any help from workbook which is already present in Quality system.
Which type of analysis i should do to come out with solution.....otherwise let me know step by step procedure to create SAVE button on workbook using BI-IP functionality.

The guts of my computer were rearranged and I got a new main hard drive. My old one is still in there and I can get stuff from it, but when I go to the Mozilla folder on the old one, I can't figure out if there's anything I can do to get all my bookmarks from that drive to my new one, where Firefox is newly installed.

If you open Firefox then Firefox will always use the default profile folder as found via profiles.ini on your system drive.
You either need to import the file in your current default profile or copy the file to your current profile folder while Firefox is closed.
Firefox 3 stores the bookmarks and the browser history in [http://kb.mozillazine.org/places.sqlite places.sqlite] and no longer creates an HTML backup by default.
There are also (five) JSON backups in the bookmarkbackups folder within the Firefox profile folder.
You can either copy the file places.sqlite to your [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox Firefox Profile Folder] or import the most recent JSON backup from the bookmarkbackups folder of that old profile.

How can I save a pages document with a new name

I often make changes to pages and numbers documents and save them with a new name. This seems to be impossible under LION. To remove the save as command is very shortsited. The only way I found to get around that is to save the changed document as a templete, remove the changes I made to the original document, Open a new document using the templete I just created, saving that document under the name I would have created using the save as command if it was still there, and then delete the templete. How in the **** is this better? Lion has disrupted almost everything I used to do in Snow Leopard.
The only thing that syncs with mobile me is email. Everything else quit working. I reported the mobile me issue to Apple and am waiting for them to contact me.
