How do I save documents in iCloud?

I create documents on my iPad using iNumbers.  When I sign in to iCloud on my PC the documents are not in iNumbers.  How do I save the documents that I create on my iPad in iCloud so that I can review/modify them on my PC?  Thank you.

If you're not planning on saving to iCloud, do this:

Re: How do I change the default save location for new files in Pages back from iCloud to my Documents folder?
Jul 29, 2012 2:01 PM (in response to JGinDC)
System Preferences > iCloud > uncheck "Documents & Data"
Unfortunately this will not be helpful if you happen to use iCloud for Documents at times, but with the option unchecked Pages, Keynote, & Numbers remember the last folder saved to again.
Cheers.

Where are you expecting to see "iCloud document?" Pages stores copies of your documents in iCloud but the documents appear in the Pages app. When you edit the document changes are automatically saved to iCloud. You do not go to iCloud to look for documents to open or copy.

  • How do i save documents to iCloud on my mac

I have put Lion on my iMac and iOS5 on my iPhone and iPad. The problem I have is where do I save things on my iMac so they will appear in iCloud? iDisk used to be an option within my folders...

Unfortunately iCloud doesn't allow this type of syncing. The only way to actually sync your Mac iWork files with iCloud is by going to the iCloud website and then dragging the file into the window to upload it.
So if you want to edit a file you have on iCloud you have to go to teh icloud wbsite. Download it to your mac. Edit it. Then drag it back to iCloud.
Hopefully in a not to distant upgrade to iWork the ability to directly sync from the mac (like iDisk and dropbox allows) will be implemented.
If you want to be able to sync like your asking your best bet woudl be to use dropbox. It makes thigns a little tricker on the ipad end. For one you'd need to get a secondary app called iSMEStorage. This app allows you to download via Webdav to dropbox. Essentially you just need to pay for it to set it up but don't use that app directly.
Then rather than directly opening the file you want to edit from numbers (or pages or whatever) you'd have to use the drop box app, find the file, open it in numbers. Once your finished editing it in Numbers youd had to export it via Webdav to dopbox.
So currently the only way to sync ipad and mac iWork files is to use icloud and download then re-upload on your mac, or use dropbox and have to download and re-upload on your ipad.

You can't.  iCloud doesn't support general file/document storage.  Try a different cloud service like Dropbox.

How do I save documents from the new Pages into a Word Document?

Thank you so much - so simple!  I had been using the 'share' option (worked in old Pages) and only had icloud or email as options.  I have to attach word documents to emails to send to work. I don't want to use icloud because it's too public and I don't trust it.  Also, you have to be able to access the internet and I need word documents on my USB stick for work where there's no internet.
I love my Mac but I do wish Apple would remember those of us living in less-than-perfect computer-land.
    Thanks again

how do i save games to icloud using my macbook?

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities
You cannot save games in iCloud. That's not the iCloud purpose.
Instead, if you have "Documents & Data" enabled in System Preferences > iCloud, your iCloud-compatible games may save your progresses and settings in iCloud, but nothing else.

  • HT204053 how do i see documents in icloud

How do I setup Icloud to view documents.
I checked it in the preferences box but do not see an icon nor know where to store documents in order to be seen

    Hi,
In fact, document can only be seen from within apps.  On your Mac, it will be from within Pages, Numbers, etc. and from your iOS device, it will be again from the related apps.  These updated apps for Mountain Lions have a feature to select where to open/save document; on iCloud or on Mac.
From iCloud.com, you can go on the iWork icon to see all your documents.
Again, this only work with Mountain Lion.

how do I put documents on iCloud?

You would have to turn on iCloud first (Mac: System Preferences > iCloud > Documents & Data; iOS: Settings > iCloud > Documents & Data). Then you could use the latest version of apps like Pages, Numbers and Keynote to store documents on iCloud and sync it between devices.

I don't have enough storage space on my iPhone 4S to download the new OS7 so how do I save it to iCloud and remove it from my iPhone to make room but not loose the deleted stuff from iCloud?

You can't use iCloud like that.  It isn't a general file storage service; it's designed to sync data across your devices.
Some options are to sync all your music or other media off your device, then sync it back on after you update.  Another is to import your photos to your computer (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083), then sync them back to your phone after you update by putting them in a folder, then selecting the folder on the Photos tab of your iTunes sync settings and syncing.

How do I save documents on iwork/pages on my ipad?

Many images from the web can be saved to the iPad's camera roll by tapping and holding on the image itself. A dialog box pops up with "Save Image" as one of the options.
Facebook handles some images slightly differently, since it's trying to respect its users' privacy preferences. If the tap and hold trick doesn't work, the image may have a "Download" link beneath it and to the right. If you tap the "Download" link, you'll then see a bare version of the image in Safari. You can then tap and hold *that* image to save it to the iPad's camera roll.
If there's no "Download" link either, it means the user has set up their privacy settings such that you can't download the image. At that point your only workaround would be to snap a screenshot by clicking the home and power buttons simultaenously. That saves the current screen to the camera roll.

Please check out this App: "Save to Cloud"

You can add all the documents to the App's local via iTunes Files Sharing. Then send those files to iCloud from the App. Then you will see them on all your iOS Devices.

  • How do I save documents from iBooks on iPad to my iMac?

I am upgrading to iPad Air 2. Yeay! I am backing up everything on my old iPad (3rd generation), preparatory to erasing it to hand it on to a family member. There are documents I have saved into iBooks on my old iPad that are nowhere else, all categorised, and this represents a lot of work over several years. I have already lost a lot of these, when I updated the system recently. (Why is that?) I can easily save documents or other media to my iMac (27 inch, late 2013, Yosemite 10.10.2) from just about every other app, Apple and non-Apple, but not iBooks! What is that about? And how can I save the ones I still have? Do I have to email each one to myself? (The only solution I have thought of so far.)

You can manually add the files to your iTunes library...on Apple's support pages:
"To add PDFs to your iTunes library on your computer, drag and drop the PDF into your iTunes Book library. If you're using OS X Mavericks or later, drag and drop your PDFs into your iBooks library using iBooks for Mac."
