How do I save .mov and audio files in QTX while using Safari?

I used to have QT7 Pro, which would allow me to save files directly with the plug-in with the drop-down menu at the right side of the player. With QTX, that panel is gone. How do I save stuff now from Safari’s windows or make 7 the default browser plug-in? Thanks in advance. Peace.

For most users just using a browser other than Safari solves the trouble.
When I encounter pages that don't show the Pro "pull down" (right end of the controller) I simply Control click on the video window to bring up the contextual menu.

Hello,
I am new to iWeb and also this discussion board!!
I am trying to create a web site for a friend and he wants about 8 movie files on one page - no I can't change his mind, believe me i have tried. First question, do I have to use the movie page template? as i would prefer to use the template i have created!
Second, how do I make it so the files open in a new window and large for the audience??

That would depend on how you place & access the movies on the iWeb page. It's better to separate out your videos from iWeb so they are not a part of iWeb's Domain file. This will reduce publishing time and time needed for Backing up your Domain file.
There are a couple of ways to embed code into iWeb that "points" to the videos located elsewhere. For example, you could publish them to MobileMe. This video tutorial shows how to publish from iMovie to MobileMe Gallery. And towards the end of this video tutorial it shows hows to incorporate MobileMe Gallery videos into your iWeb site.

How do I compress .mov and .mpg files

I have several mpg1video clips at 18.8MB each, how do I compress them into smaller files. I want to e-mail them at about 2-3MB each, and maintain good quality? Power Mac G5 2.3 OSX 10.4.4 My objective is to upload 30 second video commercials and 2-3 minute clips to my web site or e-mail them to various clients. Need help.

How do i slow down and audio file in itunes

I uploaded an audio file from my droid into Itunes, but the file plays back really fast. It sounds like the chipmunks and you can't understand it.

There isn't any way to slow it down in iTunes itself. Probably the Droid is using some codec to encode the file that iTunes doesn't fully understand. iTunes may think, for example, it is a 128k bitrate file whereas it's really 32k and iTunes plays it 4x too fast. What file format does the Droid produce?
You could try using a player such as VLC and see if it does it right.
Once we know the file format produced we might have suggests for solutions. You might end up having to re-code it which is not nice since it turns what is probably a low quality sound file into an even lower one.

How to Remove Embedded Movies and Audio From Package?

I made a presentation with many quicktime movies that has gotten too large to save efficently. I had the "copy audio and movie files into package" box clicked in preferences.
Does anyone know the best way to remove them from the package but still continue to have the presentation locate them in their own storage place?

I would send it to Audition and use the noise reduction tools there.

One of the most important reasons that one would choose to store multimedia in the database is to be able to manage this content safely and efficiently. Having multimedia in the database allows you to use database itegrity techniques to keep your data safe and consistent. If you choose to use BFILE storage, you will NOT have these advantages. You will have to back up the database, and the filesystem(s) where the multimedia is stored, and devise a way to keep this data consistent. You will not be able to rely upon the database backup entirely, you would need filesystem backups to be coordinated with database backups.
I would suggest that you store the multimedia in BLOBs within the database.
From the LOB application developer's guide:
* External (BFILE) LOBs do not participate in transactions. Any support for integrity and durability must be provided by the underlying file system as governed by the operating system.

Sync with iTunes.
Connect the iPad to the PC and launch iTunes.
Click on the iPad name on the left side under devices.
Click on the Music Tab on the right.

How can I move large audio files from my iPhone 4S (IOS7) to my iMac (OSX 10.5.8)?
I can not use:
- iTunes (will not install high enough to this ol'mac to work with IOS7)
- cloud-servers
- email, iPhone will not mail that big files...
- image transfer program (will not work with audio files)...
- etc.
Is there any cable that will work? Can I modify my iPhone? Is it possible to move back from iOS7 to iOS6?
This is kind of a big issue for me because I make long interviews with my iPhone but now I do not know how to move the files from my iPhone to my iMac for editing and pubishing.

You cannot use the iPhone unless you have the previous owners AppleID & password.

How do I move MPEG audio files from my iPod to my library on my computer???

Can someone tell me how to move MPEG audio files from my iPod to my library on my computer? Somehow all my songs on my iPod are MPEGs and they won't transfer to the library. I really don't want to loose the music, and there doesn't appear to be an option to convert the MPEG to a ACC file while the MPEG is on the iPod. Please help....

iTunes/iPod does not provide a way of copying tracks from an iPod to iTunes except for purchased music. But iTunes can play MP3 files without conversion.
Here are some ways of getting files from an iPod to your PC:
Copy from iPod to PC
It is important not to allow your iPod to sync with an empty library. If it is set to synchronise automatically you will get a message saying your iPod is linked to a different library and asking if you want to sync – it is important to press cancel as syncing with an empty library erases all music from your iPod.
You can also prevent auto sync by holding down shift & ctrl as you plug in your iPod and keeping the keys held down until the iPod appears in iTunes.
Once you are connected, you need to set your iPod to manage music manually.

I just purchased extra storage for my iCloud. How and where do I access it? I purchased movies and audio books to find out that I didn't have enough storage (the reason for the extra storage purchase). I have no idea where to find them now. Help?!

I purchased 4 movies and 2 audio books from iTunes only to find out my iPad2 didn't have enough storage, so I purchased more storage from iCloud.
My iTunes account only shows the 4 movies that need to still be downloaded (not the two books) After purchasing 20GB from iCloud I am still receiving the "There is not enough available storage. You can manage your storage in Settings" message. I have gone to my Settings, where it shows I have the new, extra storage. I have set all the iCloud settings as shown on the Apple website. In my iCloud settings, it shows I have 17GB available out of 25GB. In my General settings, it shows that I have a capacity of 28.6 GB, while my Available is 2.9GB. (????)
I don't know why I still can't download the movies. I wouldn't know where to go (how to get to) the iCloud if I could...
Also, iTunes has sent me receipts for the movies and audio books I purchased as well. Where are they???

Is this a particular sender, or all of your attchments? Google winmail.dat and you will see a number of returns that can explain this, but in short, this is the way some e mail providers deal with attachments. If all of your e mail is coming that way, you need to change a setting on your isp set up. Perhaps stary here...
