How Do I Save My Default Profile Settings?

Hi - this is driving me crazy so there obviously is a simple answer that I just can't find.
In the Develop Module I want to enable Lens Correction and Camera Calibration (from Adobe Standard to Camera Standard) and keep those settings as my Default Profile.
If I understand correctly, this Profile will be used when I import images into LR (4) always.
I know I can make these changes and apply them to images already imported but is there a way to change the Default Profile so it remains set to my options and not goes back to "Adobe Standard" for example?
Thanks

No, this is not the same as creating a new profile. That involves converting one of your raw images to DNG and then modifying and creating a profile using the DNG profile creator. I played around with it a little a couple of years ago and decided I didn't want to bother with it. So I just use the profiles that are provided from Adobe.
If you have a Canon or Nikon camera you should have profiles that match the different camera settings. You can try the different profiles on any image to find your preference. If you find that one of those profiles is the one that you use most of the time then you can make that profile to be part of your default settings. Those default settings can be modified at any time, if you should find it necessary to do so in the future.

    Hi,
Try saving your settings as a Preset by clicking the Preset drop down and then select Save Current Settings as a Preset.
Next try changing the settings by selecting the saved preset.
That allow saving the settings for a specific printer, I assume it may also allow selecting these settings for another printer.

How do I save my CMYK font settings & make it avaliable for all files ? (adobe PS indesign file)

Could you explain what you want to do a little bit better? CMYK and fonts aren't really related to each other.
Also, are you using Photoshop or InDesign?

  • How can i save some image- profiles in the memory (RAM) of a system?

How can i save some  image- profiles in the memory (RAM) of a system?
(and then I want to read out the memory and save the profiles in a HDD, but first it has to write in a memory, because the write-speed is better by the memory )

There must be an underlying premise for this question that I'm missing... When you run code everything is in memory... Programming 101. Create a variable, set a value to it, and it's in memory. Create a front panel control set a value to it and it's in memory. Data carried by the wires you use to connect your code is in memory. Or are you asking about controlling how that memory is managed - physical vs swap file?

  • How do we change the default profile folder location?

I work for a university in Manhattan. We are trying to install Firefox 5 for our users but Firefox profiles are stored in the AppData folder which is a problem for us as it exceeds the user profile space.
We need a way to have Firefox create the profile elsewhere. Is anyone aware of how to do this?

    Hi,
Thank you for taking the time to offer a solution to our problem. Unfortunately, the Firefox profile information set under the administrative account does not transfer to the user accounts. Even though we created a Firefox profile set to open to a different location, when a user logs in the default profile, located in AppData, is created for them and they do not have access to the new one.
Are you aware of any way to set the profile of each user to automatically be created elsewhere? Thank you.

  • How do I create a default profile for all users of a computer in Windows 7/Vista for Firefox versions above 8? I'd like all new users on a computer to get the same defaults, bookmarks, homepage, etc...

I have found help for this on older versions of Firefox, but I can't seem to find anything for the latest versions above 8. There must be someway to accomplish this for imaging on a large scale.

You can create a defaults\profile template folder in the Firefox program folder for new profiles the same way as in older versions. That folder only isn't there anymore because all files have been moved to the omni.ja(r) archive, so you need to create it yourself.

  • How do I save my default wallpaper folders?

I went to System Preferences>Desktop & Screen Saver. I noticed that there is a "+" to add a default folder to the current list. I added a folder, but when i quit the window of settings and come back, its not there anymore and I have to redo the process again with no prevail. It's like the iMac forgets what I told it to remember. How do I make my iMac remember the folder in the list?

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities
Try resetting the Desktop settings file. Open Finder, select Go menu > Go to Folder, and type ~/Library/Preferences. Then, in that folder, delete "com.apple.desktop.plist" and "com.apple.systempreferences.plist", and restart. Finally, see if it works correctly

  • Within Pro 9, how do I remove/delete default security settings?

    All,
As a learning excercise, I recently password protected a document so that PRINT was disabled. However everytime I render a PDF, this security policy is applied by default requiring me to go the Security tab under Properties and select "No Security."
How can I permanently deleted this policy so that it is no long applied to newly rendered PDFs by default?
    Thanks in advance!
    David

I'm OK with how to remove the security settings from a document:  Documents > Properties (security tab; "No Security").
What I'm looking for is the path to removing the security settings such that they are NOT applied when I convert a document to PDF. What is happening now is that when I convert a MS Word doc to PDF, the security settings are applied by default, which means I have to go the process, albeit a short one, of removing the security settings from the document - as referenced above.
So again, if I simply launch Acorbat Pro 9 (without opening of a document), what is the correct path to removing (permenently) the security settings so that they are no longer applied to a converted document by default?
    Thanks in advance.

  • How do I control the default Develop settings in LR5?

I've used LR for many years but have never figured out the following:  When I work on a batch of photos in Develop, most of the time the Develop settings are on their normal defaults (e.g., 0 for most sliders; blank for lens, etc.)  As I process each photo and move to the next, the settings jump back to default.  Sometimes, however, this second step doesn't occur; when I open the second photo the Develop settings remain where I left them in processing the first photo.  Recently, LR sometimes opens with the settings I used in the last session, even though I have closed LR in the interim.
I know how to use Copy and Paste but they don't seem to be involved.  I don't know how to use Sync; I've watched a couple of tutorials but they assume a knowledge of Sync which I don't have.
    Any help appreciated.

If Auto Sync is enabled and more than one image selected, any editing done to one of the photos will be done simultaneously to all the selected photos. If only a single photo is selected, it will be the only one affected. Thus, moving to a new photo that was not selected together with the previous one it will open with the default settings. Auto Sync can be enabled when multiple photos are selected either from the Settings menu or by raising the toggle switch on the Sync button at the bottom of the right-side Develop panel.
"Recently, LR sometimes opens with the settings I used in the last session, even though I have closed LR in the interim."
This is as it should be. LR should always return to the editing done in an earlier session because every edit is immediately recorded and saved in the catalog database and the old edits are reapplied to the image preview every time it is opened

  • How do I save as default, not to: Rely on sytem fonts only, do not use document fonts

I get odd characters all the time until I uncheck this box in preferences before I print.   I want that as my default, but I can't see how to change that setting to a default setting.  I don't understand why you would not want it as a defualt unless the printing speed is 1/2 second faster using sytem fonts.
Anyone have and idea how to change this so I don't have to preview every web page I want to capture to make sure it printed correctely instead on a bunch of gibberish.
You get to this point by chosing Adobe as the printer, then clicking on preferences, then unchecking this box.   I just can't see how to make that change the default setting.
I am using Acrobat Standard version 9.4.6

Open your Printers, (right click Adobe PDF) select Properties, fromt the Printing Preferences tab, make the change

  • If I change internet providers, how do I save mail and change settings?

I am going to have a representative from a different broadband service come over tomorrow and see if my house is within the area served by her company (Clearwire). If it is I plan to drop my satellite service and go with this, assuming it is faster. In case I do this, I realize there are a few things I need to know first that I hope someone here can help me with.
    1. If I go with the new service provider, my email address will change. Does this mean that what is in my current mailbox (I have several folders with emails I have saved) will no longer be accessible? How do I backup what is in all the folders now in a way that I will be able to get into it with a different provider? (I have an external hard drive, but it is usb so cloning is not a possibility.)
    2. If the new service works, I think I will have to make changes like DNS numbers and such. Hate to admit this, but I do not remember where to find and change these things.
    3. What else might I be forgetting to think of that I need to know?
Thanks very much in advance for all advice and suggestions.

Do not change the settings for the existing account.
You should create a new account in Mail for the email account provided by Clearwire.
Before deleting the email account in Mail provided by your Satellite internet provider, create an "On My Mac" location mailbox - one for the account's Inbox mailbox and one for the account's Sent mailbox. Transfer messages from the Satellite account's Inbox and Sent mailbox to the user created "On My Mac" mailboxes. When completed, delete the Satellite provider's email account.
You shouldn't have to change anything with the new provider. I assume Clearwire provides an Ethernet modem and sends an installer to set up the equipment, etc.?

  • How can I save my main screen settings?

For example, I like to have more than just the 4 default audio tracks, and also have them start off in stereo as opposed to the default mono. So instead of having to make these changes every time I open Logic, is there a way to have these settings saved so that they appear every time automatically?

I'd much rather have a Q & A with an actual human being, rather than sift
through that encyclopedia of confusion they call a manual!
    gee now wouldn't we all?
this was just a light warning to you.. the people here are nice, very knowledgeable and ready to help, but I don't think any of us are receiving a paycheck from you as logic trainers. if you keep asking very basic questions that seem like a laziness to not help yourself or to put in the effort to learn the program, you are going to find that people will tire of your questions very quickly and will ignore them. please don't take this as rude, it's just FYI. we've all put in years to achieve our level of fluency in logic and most of us are very keen to help kindred spirits. but none of the experienced users here are much into spoon feeding.
btw, there's a pdf manual too, in case you weren't aware. you can open it directly in logic, and then type in whatever you are looking for in the search field. have a read and a look around at what it comes up with. if it doesn't answer your question, or if it raises new questions, then come here and ask.

  • How can I replace a *.default profile with a new one?

I had several problems with a laptop being infected with malware. As a result FireFox would not open and thus I couldn't export the bookmarks before reformating the drive. Before reformatting the drive I copied the FireFox files in user/appdata/mozilla/firefox/ both the Local and Roaming subfolders to another drive. I installed FF 4 after the reformat, replaced the *.default files in the new profile with those I saved from the old installation and got the error message " . . all ready running."

Delete the '''parent.lock''' file, if it exists in that Profile.
