How do I save my wireless password in 10.6

Hello, I have to networks where I live and each time I restart my computer I have to log back into my network. I can't figure out how to save my password so I don't have to log in every time. Can anyone help me with this?

Your wireless network passwords should automatically be saved no matter what kind of router you have. Try repairing your keychain - in the Applications/Utilities folder, launch Keychain Access, and click on the "Login" password on the top left of the window. Go to the Keychain Access menu, click FIrst Aid, and type your Mac login password, then click Repair and Start.
Also, try searching in the keychain (the search box is on the top right of the Keychain Access window) for your wireless network passwords - (they'll all be listed as Airport Network passwords)
Make sure also, in System Preferences - Networks, under Airport - Advanced, that you tick "Remember networks this computer has joined"
Hope that helps
Matt

The website may be using autocomplete=off to prevent Firefox from saving the name and password.
You can remove autocomplete=off with a bookmarklet to make Firefox save the name and password.

How do I change the wireless password on my Apple Airport extreme?

On your Mac......
Click the Finder icon (that smiley face on the left side of the dock)
Open Applications
Open Utilities
Open AirPort Utility
Click on the picture of the AirPort Extreme, then click Edit in the smaller window that appears
Click the Wireless tab at the top of the next window
Edit / backspace out the current Wireless Password entry
Do the same to Verify the new password
It might be a good idea to write down the new password and store the info in a safe place
Click Update in the upper right corner of the window and allow a full minute for the AirPort Extreme to restart

Why are you still using that old version of Firefox?
3.5.19 is the latest of the Firefox 3.5 version, and that is about to be no longer supported by Mozilla.

• How do I save a new password if it doesn't ask me if i want to save it?!

There was a password saved on a site. The site made me change the password. Firefox never asked me if i wanted to change it, i deleted it as i didn't know how to change it. Now it is not asking me if i want to save the new password... ?!

I have a similar problem which is not answered in the above link:
I had to change my remembered username/password on a site.
I used password manager to delete the old info. Now I do not know how to make it remember the new info. New username is there when I start typing it, but it does not give me the option to remember it, nor does it remember the password.

• I changed a password to a frequesntly used site. Firefox has not asked me if I want to save this new password and I have to keep changing the saved one to the correct one. How do I get it to save the new password?

I have websites I use for my employer that require a password. The employer requires these be changed periodically. Always before, if I changed the password, about the second or third time I tried to log in and changed the saved password to the correct one, Firefox would ask if I wanted to save the new password. It is not doing this now. How can I get it to save a new password? It keeps putting in the old one.

Make sure that you do not run Firefox in permanent Private Browsing mode.

*You enter Private Browsing mode if you select: Tools > Options > Privacy > History: Firefox will: "Never Remember History"
*To see all History and Cookie settings, choose: Tools > Options > Privacy, choose the setting Firefox will: Use custom settings for history
* Deselect: [ ] "Permanent Private Browsing mode"
The website may be using autocomplete=off to prevent Firefox from saving the name and password.

Hi,
From the Safari menu bar click Safari / Preferences then select the Autofill tab. Select the box next to:
User names and passwords.
Navigate to a site you normally log into with the user name and password. Click Yes when prompted. That will save that information to a new keychain for you.
Passwords are actually stored in your Keychain Access application. (Applications/Utilities)
