How do I save photos in iPhoto to a USB?

I'm in iphoto how can I save these photos onto a USB or external hard drive?

Select the photos in iPhoto, export to a desktop folder and using the finder drag that folder to the USB stick
You can do the same with an external hard drive or export directly to it

Hello! Could someone please help me? I am trying to save vidoes from iPhoto to a USB flash drive. After I export them, I open my flash drive to play them back and they are all zero seconds long in Quick Time Player. What am I doing wrong?

    How are you exporting?
Try to export using the "File" menu and select "Kind > Original".
Then drag the exported video file to your USB flash drive.

  • How do i save photos in iphoto but not in photo stream

When I take photos with my iphone, it saves a random number to the photo stream.  For instance, if I take 5 photos, they all go to the photo stream on my iphone, but on my Mini, one might appear, or more, it is seemingly random.  I want to save them all to my hard drive on my Mac mini.  Deleting them from photo stream deletes them permanently, from everywhere.  Sometimes it saves the random number to an event in iphoto, sometimes not.  When it does this, deleting them from the photo stream may or may not delete them from the event.  Again, it appears random.  I want to save photos, and have access to them, without keeping everything in photo stream.  How do I do this?
The problem is that saving seems to be completely random.  I have vacation photos that I don't want to lose.

They should all be in the Photo Stream.  Sometimes it taks a while for the PS to refresh itself. In your iPhoto library set the Photo Stream preferences to
This will automatically import any photo added to the Photo Stream into your iPhoto Library.
If waiting for a while for the PS to refresh itse'f doesn't show all of the photos taken the try the following:
Disable Photo Stream in the System/iCloud preference pane
and in iPhoto's Photo Share preference pane.
Reboot and reenable both respectively. That should jump start Photo Stream.
Rebooting your iPhone can also help.

  • How do i save photos from iPhoto to jpeg

when i import photos from my camera they save in the iphoto section but how do I then save those as jpeg files so that i can upload them to emails or to kodal gallery etc.

Another easy method if you're only dealing with a small number of photos, just drag the best shots from  iPhoto to the desktop.  Then they're easy to find for uploads.  Delete off the desktop when your done.  (they're still in iPhoto).

  • How can I save photos to iPhoto direct from Photoshop Elements

Does anyone know how I can save a photo direct to iPhoto after editing in PSE?  Currently I save to the desktop and then "import".  Its a bit of a fiddly way espectially if you  are editing a number of photos direct from iPhoto.  It would be nice to save them back to the relevant Event or Album.
    Regards

    This may help:
Using Photoshop (or Photoshop Elements) as Your Editor of Choice in iPhoto.
1 - select Photoshop as your editor of choice in iPhoto's General Preference Section's under the "Edit photo:" menu.
2 - double click on the thumbnail in iPhoto to open it in Photoshop.  When you're finished editing click on the Save button. If you immediately get the JPEG Options window make your selection (Baseline standard seems to be the most compatible jpeg format) and click on the OK button. Your done.
3 - however, if you get the navigation window
that indicates that  PS wants to save it as a PS formatted file.  You'll need to either select JPEG from the menu and save (top image) or click on the desktop in the Navigation window (bottom image) and save it to the desktop for importing as a new photo.
This method will let iPhoto know that the photo has been editied and will update the thumbnail file to reflect the edit..
NOTE: With Photoshop Elements 9 or later the Saving File preferences should be configured as shown:
I also suggest the Maximize PSD File Compatabilty be set to Always.  In PSE’s General preference pane set the Color Picker to Apple as shown:
Note:  to switch between iPhoto and PS or PSE as the editor of choice Control (right)-click on the thumbnail and select either Edit in iPhoto or Edit in External Editor from the contextual menu.

  • How do I save photos from iphoto to external hd without Time Machine?

I have a seagate 320gb freeagent external hard drive and would like to know how to save my iphoto pictures on it. I cant seem to drag & drop folders from the application & Help only mentions using Time Machine which I dont particularly want to do (I had a Lacie hd connected to Time Machine & it made a very loud humming noise then I knocked it over so that was that, so now I'm starting again with the Seagate). Please could someone explain in very simple language how I can achieve this as I need to back up a couple of thousand photos to make room on my imac.
    Thankyou
    Sara

    Sara
Use a back up utility such as DejaVu to make incremental back ups of your Library. The first time you run it it will back up the entire Library, thereafter it will keep the back up up-to-date with the changes in your Library. There are other apps that will do this job. Search on MacUpdate

  • How do I export my photos from iPhoto to a USB in my desired sequence?

How do I export photos from iPhoto to a USB in my desired sequence? I've tried exporting them one by one & in whole albums but they always revert to the original time sequence.

When you export from iPhoto you're limited to the sorting options of the Finder, which is where you're exporting to. This principally leaves you with sorting on filename or date. The Finder doesn't so manual sorting.
The trick is to set up your album in the order you prefer.
Then when that's done, title the photos to reflect the sequence. So, John and Angela's Wedding 001, John and Angela's Wedding 002, John and Angela's Wedding 003 etc - you can do this using the Photos -> Batch Change commant
Then export the snaps from iPhoto using the option to rename the files to the photo title.

  • How do I save photos from email directly into correct album of iphoto?

how can I save photos to the correct album in iphoto directly from email?  I've been emailed photos I can't figure out how to save.  Thanks!

You can drag a photo from the email window onto the Album in the left hand pane of iPhoto and it will be added to that Album.  The photo will be in its own Event but will also be in the Album you dragged it to.

  • HT1229 how do i save all my photos in iPhoto to a USB?

How do I save and transfer all my photos in iPhoto to a USB?

Do you want to save the photos or your complete iPhoto Library?
To backup the library on an USB thumbsdrive, select it in the Finder and drag it to the icon of the thumbsdrive. Only make sure, the drive is formatted correctly. By default it will be formatted for windows systems and not MacOS Extended (Journaled) as required for photo libraries, see:  Format external drives to Mac OS Extended before using with Aperture or iPhoto.

  • How can I import photos from iPhoto-library to edit in Photoshop CC? - and save it back to the iPhoto-library?

How can I import photos from iPhoto-library to edit in Photoshop CC? - and save it back to the iPhoto-library?

How to access iPhoto images for use in Photoshop
    1. In the Finder, navigate to Users > [user name} > Pictures > iPhoto Library.
    2. Control-click the iPhoto Library file and choose Show Package Contents.
    3. A Finder window opens that shows the contents. The Masters folder (or called Originals folder) contains all of the photographs that are in iPhoto.
Photoshop cannot access this folder, but if you make a duplicate of the folder, the dupe will be accessible -- so:
    4. Control-click the folder named Masters (or Originals) and choose Duplicate.
5, Drag the duplicate folder which is named "Masters copy" or “Originals copy” from the iPhoto Library Finder window to the Desktop.
    6. Open images in Photoshop from file on desktop.
7  Rename the folder and move it elsewhere (probably to the Pictures folder), if desired.

If I receive photos in "Mail", if I save them they go to my folder "Pictures".  How can I save them to iPhoto?

What is your iPhoto version? With the most recent MacOS X 10.9.4 and iPhoto 9.5.1 you can select the attached photos in Mail, ctrl-click them, and use the command "Export to iPhoto". This will add them to your iPhoto Library in a new event.

You're question is very vague, but I'll guess that you want to export from iPhoto (file -> export) to a folder on the desktop and drag that to the flashdrive.
