How do i save STACKS of images (e.g. TIFF) as a SINGLE file in IMAQ?

I would like to save stacks of images (movies and time series) as single files (TIFF in particular) but i can only find support in IMAQ for saving single images to single files. Does anyone know how to save STACKS? (As far as i know that is a common feature in most frame grabbers).
I am using a PCI-1408 card for analog acquisition and NI-IMAQ driver in Windows 2000.

Bernhard,
There are no utilities in IMAQ to save image sequences in a single file.
One possible solution, if you aren't trying to compress the images, is to extract the 2D array of pixel intensities and save them as a standard array. You would be able to store as many arrays as you want in a single file.
If you want to compress the images, there are utilities for creating AVI files. I have used a wavelet compression utility that I wrote LV drivers for, also. If you are willing to spend a little money, that might be a good solution. You can contact me at bruce@ammonsengineering if you want to discuss it further.

    How do I save an HDR image from silver FX to a jpg in photoshop. when I go to file - save as then option of a jpg does not come up?

    Since the hdr image is probably 32 bits/Channel, you would need to go to Image>Mode and choose either 16 or 8 bits/channel.
    Then in the HDR Toning dialog use the Exposure and Gamma Method with the Exposure set to Zero and Gamma set to One.
    Then you should be able to save out your image as a jpeg.

    How do I save an edited image from Elements back into my iPhoto gallery?

    You have two options:
    1. Set PSE as your external editor, send the photo from iphoto, work on it in PSE and save it without changing the name or format (you don't want to see the Save As window) and iphoto will remember your original + last saved version, although you'll have to lose the edits to see the original again. This doesn't work for raw files and you will probably need to set the Editor preferences>saving files>on first save to save over existing to get it to work for other formats.
    2. Export the photo to the desktop, use file>open in PSE, make all the changes you want, save the file in any format with any name you like, then import the edited photo to iphoto as a new file.

  • How can i save an extracted image to be able to edit it

    How can I save an extracted image in pse9 to be able to edit it - i.e. move it around on the layer to another spot and also to be able to resize it to make it bigger or smaller before repasting it back into another image/background?
    Thanks

      A really simple method is to use the quick selection tool to outline a person or object in a photo. Holding down the alt key changes the tool action from plus to minus - so you can perfect your selection as you go along (e.g. if you accidentally select part of the background)
    When you are happy with your selection of the person or object press Ctrl+J - this will automatically create a new transparent layer with your selection as shown by the checkerboard background.
    You can then add any other picture or background - here I’ve used a simple green background to illustrate the point by selecting Layer > New Fill Layer > Solid Color
    I then clicked on the transparent layer in the layer pallet and dragged it to the top - to reveal the green background behind my person selection.
    I then selected the hand tool and the bounding box appeared - by holding down the shift key you can drag the corner handles or sides of the bounding box to resize and then click the green checkmark to confirm OK. You can then drag the image to any position in the frame of your chosen background. Save as PSD to keep your layers for later or click Layer > Flatten Image to save as Jpeg.

  • How do you SAVE a scanned image from my printer?

    I have an HP Deskjet 3510 Printer.  How do I save a scanned image from my printer to a folder?  This is my first MAC.

    It's automatically saved,  if you use the Image Capture application already pre-loaded on your computer you specify the folder, file name, and type of file (jpg, pdf, etc...) right there. You didn't say what scanning app you use but I'm sure it is very similar.
    BTW because this is your first Mac I'd suggest book marking and using the Intel-based iMac Support link.

  • How do you save a transformed image?

    Windows Store App 8.1.
    I have an image that the user has rotated, scaled and clipped etc.  How do you save the transformed image?
    There are solutions of the forums but these use the System.Media.Imaging library that isn't available, classes like the TransformedBitmap etc. are not available.
    I'm playing around with this approach but the decoder throws a "The image format is unknown";
    imageManipulation is UIElement.Image.
    Any ideas on how to achieve the saving of a Transformed image in a 4.5.1 8.1 store app?
    RenderTargetBitmap rtb = new RenderTargetBitmap();
    await rtb.RenderAsync(imageManipulation, (int)imageManipulation.ActualWidth, (int)imageManipulation.ActualHeight);
    IBuffer buffer = await rtb.GetPixelsAsync();
    using (InMemoryRandomAccessStream ras = new InMemoryRandomAccessStream())
    await ras.WriteAsync(buffer);
    await ras.FlushAsync();
    BitmapDecoder dec = await BitmapDecoder.CreateAsync(BitmapDecoder.BmpDecoderId, ras);

    Hi,
    You can use BitmapEncoder to apply transforms such as scaling and cropping, set metadata and properties, and edit pixels while preserving any unedited
    data. After transform the data, you can copy the contents from the in-memory stream to the original file’s stream and close all of the streams. That make you can save the encoded image to the file:
    memStream.Seek(0);
    fileStream.Seek(0);
    fileStream.Size = 0;
    await RandomAccessStream.CopyAsync(memStream, fileStream);
    fileStream.Dispose();
    memStream.Dispose();

  • In iphoto, how do i save a photo after editing, in the same or higher file size, it's saves in a lower size

    in iphoto, how do i save a photo after editing, in the same or higher file size, it's saves in a lower size

    It's rather more complicated that this.
    iPhoto is a lossless editor. You don't lose any quality on your shot in iPhoto.
    The file size you see reported is the size of your iPhoto Preview: this is what gets used if you access the data via a media browser. It's a "good-enough-for-most-uses" version of the shot. Email it, upload to websites, use it in Presentation, Word processing file etc
    If you want to set the quality yourself then Export the photo using the File -> Export command.
    You can choose to export to Jpeg, Tiff or png. Tiff is lossless but the file sizes are up to 10 times larger. Jpeg allows you to choose different qualities: High, Medium or low. The difference is the amount of compression involved. High quality means very little compression. It's not unusual for photos exported at this setting to have a larger file size than the original.
    Which setting you choose depends on the use you intend. Further editing, printing then high is important. Sending to Facebook? Well low will do just fine there as they're going to trash the file anyway.
    But the key point: the file size only becomes an issue when you export.

    TD

  • How do I save a modified image?

    I am a total beginner and have just managed to modify an image (I think). How do I save it? One tutorial said you do not save in Photoshop you export but I cant find an export button.
    Second question is - there are lots of tutorials and videos but is there a simple logically progressive instruction manual or something for total beginners?
    Thanks

    Exporting is for Premiere Elements.

  • How do I save modified RAW images in JPEG format?

    Hi,
    I have several RAW images that I mass modified with the "Camera Raw" editor (I modified one and applied the changes to all other images). How can I now save the modified images as JPEG images? I know I could open each file in Photoshop and save it as JPEG there, but that would take A LONG time.
    Thanks for any pointers!
         Mark

    They have to be opened, one by one, before the adjustments are applied and the image files saved, but the process can be automated.  For instance through the already included Image Processor, or Image Processor Pro, also pre-installed, or through Actions and Droplets you create yourself.

  • Cp6 - How do I save custom button images?

    Hello all,
    I have a project which uses custom buttons. When I click on the button, from the stage, I see the button and other custom buttons in the Properties/General section (as Image buttons).
    The problem is that these buttons are embedded in the project. How do I save them to the hard drive so that I may edit them? I see no option to save them in their 3 states (over, up, down).
    BTW, as I mentioned, they are currently embedded in the project and they are not located in: Adobe Captivate 6 x64\Gallery\Buttons
    Anyone?
    Thank you,
    Doug

    Hi Charles,
    last week Kirby Krieger and me did a little investigation in vanishing button sets; you may wish to have a look at this thread: Control Bar Button Sets Drop-down shows non-existing Sets "Wedding", "Sports", "Animals". I wonder, if your button sets vanish for the same reason, switching between libraries.
    When you close Aperture and restart (a regular "quit", not "force quit", I assume, otherwise all will be discarded ) then the button sets will be stored in your Aperture Library, and in the System Preferences file
         ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.Aperture.plist Aperture stores the name of the button group last selected.
    So the button sets are bound to your library. If you switch between Aperture Libraries, and the other Library does not have a button group by the name you last selected, then Aperture will fall back on the default button set. By clicking the "Edit button" in the keyword controls and selecting one of your previously defined set in the left columm of the button editor, usually your button sets should reappear. Does that apply to your case? Do you switch between multiple Aperture Libraries? Then make sure to select a button set group that is defined in all libraries before quitting and switching to another library. Also your Aperture Preference file might be locked or corrupted. Then it might help to remove the preference file as described in Aperture 3 Trouble Shooting Basics http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3805
    The import/export buttons:
    You can save your button set to a file, and when you switch to another library, you can import the saved file to use the same button sets with that library. Export and Import should not be necessary, if you are only quitting and reopening the same library.
