How do I scan photos to my macair?

How do I scan photos using an HP M2727 Laserjet printer?  I hooked it up, but I don't get all the features.

how do i add photos to my ipod without losing photos that already exist on the ipod but not the computer?
Well, If you've deleted the photos off your computer, then when you connect your iPod, they'll probably be automatically deleted off of it.
Try this, though:
Open iTunes.
Go to "Edit -> Preferences -> iPod". Without the iPod connected, it should say "No iPod connected". Leave this Preferences windows up and running; I believe this may prevent iTunes from seeing your iPod as a connection.
Then, if you want to copy photos from your iPod to your computer, then see these programs:
iPodPhotoCopy
CopyPod Photo
Then, move those photos that you have transferred to your computer to a new folder, for example. Name the folder, then add the other photos that you previously were wanting on your iPod into this new folder.
In Edit -> Preferemces -> iPod -> Photos, select this new folder to sync to your iPod ("Browse" for location).
I hope this helps,

  • How to get scanned photos to open directly in iphoto?

I'm beginning a photo project that requires a lot of scanning. I purchased a new scanner but I can't seem to get the photos to open directly into iphoto. I'm using an Epson scanner - the Epson Perfection V600 - and it offers only options to open into "My Pictures" or on the desktop. I was hoping to have images imported directly from scanner into iphoto, eliminating that extra step for me to have to do manually.
Any suggestions to help me get acquainted with this will be much appreciated!

No - you can not "open" photos in iPhoto - you must scan the photos and then import them into iPhoto
There is an "auto import" folder in the iPhoto library - I have not played with it but I suspect that if you save photos into it they will automatically import into iPhoto

How do I scan photos to the computer so that they show as a photo image?  When I scan a photo, the printer does not recognize the edge of the photo.  Instead it scans the entire glass and shows me a photo in the corner of a large white document.

What format are they? Tiif? Jpeg? You can compress them with a lot of apps - including Preivew and just about any graphics editor out there. I'm not sure that 45mb would crash iPhoto thogh, are yo sure that's the cause? I know that some folks have mentioned pixel dimensions causing issues, as can color profiles.

  • How do i enlarge a scanned photo in my f4100 series

how do i enlarge a scanned photo in my f4100 series

    To scan to a computer
    1. Place your original with the side you want to copy or scan face down on the left front
    corner of the glass.
TIP: For quality copies, ensure that the scanner glass is clean and that there are
no foreign materials adhering to it. For more information, see Clean the glass.
    2. Press Scan.
If the original is a document, the HP All-in-One scans it automatically. If the original
is a photo, a preview image of the scan appears on your computer, where you can
edit it. Any edits that you make apply to the current scan session only.
The HP Photosmart Software has many tools that you can use to edit your scanned
image. You can improve the overall image quality by adjusting the brightness,
sharpness, color tone, or saturation. You can also crop, rotate, or resize the image.
    3. Make any edits to the preview image, and then click Accept when you are finished.
You can use the tools in the HP Scanning software to modify a preview image. Any
changes that you make, such as brightness, image type, resolution, and more apply only
    to this scan session.
You can make additional changes in the HP Photosmart software after the image is
    scanned.

  • How to get larger scanned photos in I-photo on a Mac

Want to get larger scanned photos from scanner to I-Photo files on a Mac.

Thanks for providing that information Fudgeface.
Are you using the Full Feature Software and Drivers?
HP Photosmart 6520 e-All-in-One Printer Full Feature Software and Drivers - OS X 10.9 Mavericks.
Check the driver name that is installed for the printer. The Airprint driver might be installed instead of the Printer's driver. (usually defaults to Airprint)
Click the Apple menu and then click System Preferences. Click Printers & Scanners, highlight the printer name on the left side and on the right side of the screen should show the name.
If the printer name shows Airprint, then that is the Apple drivers. Delete it and add the printer name back in from the list. Click the - sign to delete the driver and then click the + sign to add the driver, might have to click the drop down to select the printer's name to add it in.
With the HP Software, once you go into Edit, you should have the option for custom sizes.
Using the Apple Printer and Scanners software, you will also have the option for custom sizes.
I have provided a document for how to scan with HP Software or Apple's Software and make changes.

  • How do I get my HP 7525 scanned photos to show up in my Windows Photo Gallery?

When I scan photos on my HP 7525, they show up in Documents on my Dell PC. I want them in my Windows Photo Gallery. How can I make make this happen? My PC is connected to the printer with a USB cable.
Thanks for any help you can offer.

I don't have a windows photo gallery on my PC (I'm running Windows 7).
I pulled the following from the Microsoft help page:
When I import pictures and videos from my camera, how do I change where they are saved and what they are named?
By default, all pictures and videos are saved to the Pictures folder in a folder named for the current date and the tag you assign to the pictures when they’re imported. Each picture is given a name that includes the tag. To change the way your pictures and videos are saved to your computer, do the following:
Open Windows Photo Gallery by clicking the Start button , clicking All Programs, and then clicking Windows Photo Gallery.
Click the File menu, and then click Options.
Click the Import tab, and then do one of the following:
Click Browse to change the folder that pictures and videos are copied to.
Click the Folder Name list to name the folder using other elements, such as the range of dates in which the pictures were taken. You can add several items together to create a more descriptive folder name.
Click the File Name list to change the information that is used to create the picture's file name.
When you are finished making changes, click OK.

How do I scan a photo to a file and then send the file as an attachment  via email.

All of this depends largely on what printer /software you have, which Email client you use and to some extent which OS you are running.
Most HP printers have HP Solution Center which is used to set up scanning, choosing where to save, etc. Once a file/photo is scanned and saved to the folder, open the folder.Select the file and at the top of the window should be the option to 'Email'.

  • How do i scan a photo into iphoto

I have a brother DCP-7020 printer scanner and I would like to scan photos into my iphoto, how do I do this?

I don't think you can scan directly into iPhoto.  I just did a search and found this on iPhoto FAQ:
Question 10: Does iPhoto work with flatbed scanners or film scanners?
Answer: Yes. To use iPhoto with your flatbed or film scanner, simply scan your negative, slide, or print with the scanner and save the resulting files to a folder on your Mac. You can import the images directly into iPhoto with the Import command. You can also drag the folder of images directly onto the iPhoto interface and add photos that way.
I also found this thread on these forums, which does verify what I said above ... hope it helps.

How do I re-assemble two halves of a large scanned photo to create the original picture in CS3

    Good day!
Is there overlap between the scans?
If so File > Automate > Photomerge might be enough, otherwise you can load both images in one document and manually align/distort them and address color/brightness-diferences with Adjustment Layers.

    Hello SusieMacBook,
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!
You can definitely get these photos into iPhoto if they are the correct file type (JPEG, GIF, TIFF, and PNG).  The way you import the photo attachments depends on where you check your e-mail.  The following article is for iPhoto 11 (but should work for previous versions as well).  It outlines how to import photos from Mac Mail, other e-mail applications, and web browsers, so just look at the section that applies to you.
