How do I screen capture an internet page to copy to a file?
I am recently trying to adjust to a Mac system from PC. Simple Question... How can I screen capture an internet page to copy it to a file?
To screen-capture a window so you can paste the captured impage, press Shift-Control-Command-4, and when your cursor appears as a crosshair, press the Space Bar and it will turn into a small camera icon. With this, place the cursor over the window you would like to capture and then click. Now the image will be on your clipboard, so you can paste it wherever.
However, screenshots take the image of what you see on-screen. If you would like to capture the entire Web page content only, then your best bet would be to print it to a PDF file. To do this, press Command-P and in the print dialogue that opens, choose the option to save the PDF to a file from the PDF menu. -
How to Improve Screen Captures?
I just downloaded Flash Professional CS5 to try it out. I have no experience with this but I have a general idea of the basics, tween, frames etc. My goal and interest is to be able to make small animations to enhance screen capture videos.
I started by capturing 5 minutes of Screen Action on my computer. I converted from WMV to Fla and brought it into Flash. I brought it in to the time line thinking Flash would make lots of key frames to handle all the changes between frames that were within the video. Instead all I got was a solid gray box from one end to the other indicating content with no changes!
I would now like to erase some black lines on a white background in the original video and make changes to them. I find if I go to the middle of the time line I can insert a keyframe but changes can not be made.
Is this something I should be able to do with Flash CS5?
BobOk,
I have discovered that what I want to do can be done in Flash CS5. I can play the video in a time line under my animation. I need to be able to create an animation layer that can match the exact speed and location of action in the underlying video. For example we will say in the video there is a pen moving for 10 frames or so. In the animation layer I want to exactly match the speed of the pen with a line that is created at the tip of the pen (but in another layer).
See http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xme5-l8DU0g to get an idea of what I am hoping to be able to do.
All ideas on this are appreciated. I just need a general idea how to start.

How to disconnect screen capture on IPad ?
The request is just de title's question
You can't disable the screen capture. You just have to be more careful if you are holding down on the two buttons at the same time for whatever reason.

How do I screen capture just one element of my computer?
I know there is a keyboard shortcut for it (Hold Command, Shift, and 4 keys, then press the Spacebar), but it doesn't work for me. Additionally, I can't find an option to adjust it in my Keyboard settings in my System Preferences. How can I turn this feature on or figure out the keyboard shortcut for it?
⌘ Shift 4 = Select to Capture to png. Shows measurements by curser.
⌘ Shift 4 then press space-bar = a shot of a single window & drop shadow
⌘ Shift 3 = Capture screen to png.
The pngs are put on the desktop.
Use control at the same time and just copy to clip board.
Check the Utility Grab for more Options. -
How do I screen capture video?
I want to video capture my screen while I'm working on a program (for a tutorial) is there any 3rd party application that enables you to capture video of your screen?
ThanksAloha Caleb, I can vouch for Snapz Pro X, I've used it for several years through Panther ,Tiger, and now 10.5.2 Leopard. It has a lot of options and choices for video sizes. I think they have a demo available go here:

How to display PSA screen capture on Front Panel
Any one know how to display screen capture of PSA series specturm analyzer on front panel. I can save the JPEG file in the C drive, but I can't display on the front pannel. Please see my labview code.
Solved!
Go to Solution.
Attachments:
Capture screen E4446A.vi 21 KB
reading and writing binary number.vi 22 KB
yumg.jpg 20 KBDo you actually need to save the front panel image? Or do you want to save a graph of the signal (spectrum) that you acquired? If the latter will do the trick, you can simply read the waveform over GPIB (or whichever means you control the analyzer) into an array that is plotted to a waveform graph in LabVIEW. You then save the image of the waveform graph as an image.
Since you have all the data, you can even save the data which can be viewed later (and not only by LabVIEW). -
How to screen capture in Mac OS
Can anyone advised me how to do screen capture please? Thanks.
Hi joengz!
Command-Shift-3: Take a picture of the screen
Command-Shift-4: Take a picture of the selection
Command-Shift-4, then press Control while selecting: Take a picture of the screen, place in Clipboard
Command-Shift-4, then Spacebar: Take a picture of the selected window
Additional instructions, that can be found in Mac Help.
"To take a picture of the whole screen, press Command-Shift-3.
To take a picture of part of the screen, press Command-Shift-4, then drag to select the area you want
in the picture.
To take a picture of a window, the menu bar, the Dock, or other area, press Command-Shift-4, then
press the Space bar. Move the pointer over the area you want so that it's highlighted, then click. (If you
decide you want to drag to select the area, press the Space bar again.)
If you press Command-Shift-4 and decide you don't want to take the screen shot, press the Escape
key.
Screen shots are saved as PDF files on the desktop. If you want to put the screen shot in the Clipboard,
rather than create a file, hold down the Control key when you press the other keys. You can then paste
the picture into a document."
"You can also take pictures of the screen using the Grab application (in the Utilities folder)."

Imported screen capture avi looks pixely in pp2 cs3
Okay this is my first post on here so please bear with me, I will try to make this any easy one.
I am using Adobe Premiere Pro cs3 and I have been trying like mad to get a usable screen capture incorporated into my videos. I work for an internet company and I am charged with the task of creating tutorial dvds for training new employees and new website owners how to use our software. I am a professional, but I have never had to use so many screen captured elements, to be truthful, I have not used any until recently.
I have tried importing flash files of the content I need into premiere, which as far as I can tell is impossible and not the way to go about this. I then aquired a program called Hypercam that allows me to screen capture directly to AVI which I thought was wonderful until I brought the avi movies into premiere. What I am seeing is the source go from looking near perfect when not in motion in the source window, then the instant I hit play, the pixels turn to crap and it looks terrible, unusable for my purposes as smaller text gets completely obscured. The same is true if the avi file is brought into the timeline, no matter if it's rendered or not.
Upon closer inspection it appears that the pixels become wider and blurred when the video is played than when it is at rest.
The AVI files default properties copied directly from what premiere is telling me are as follows:
Type: AVI Movie
File Size: 22.6 MB
Image Size: 1280 x 1024
Pixel Depth: 1280
Frame Rate: 10.00
Total Duration: 00;00;17;17
Average Data Rate: 1.3 MB / second
Pixel Aspect Ratio: 1.0
Depth is 16 bits.
Compressor: 'CRAM', Microsoft Video 1
My project settings are:
720x480
dv ntsc PAR .9
29.97 fps
My system is a Dell XPS 710 Quad core with Nvidia 768mb 8800 GTX card and dual monitor set up.
I have read through the other thread dealing with this and as far as I can tell, it is either a PAR issue or a problem with using an AVi in premiere. I need help friends, and I guess the questions I need answered would be one or many of the following.
1. How do I screen capture into a usable format for Premiere with no loss of quality?
2. How can I use/convert my existing files so that I may edit them without loss of quality?
I will continue looking and I will be monitoring this thread until I get something that works. I'm not afraid to spend money to do this right so any and all suggestions are welcome. Please HELP!So I have been doing some more homework and I took Harm's suggestion to get Camtasia. Thank you for that, I love it. It is quite versatile and looks great(It should for $300). So now I am able to produce a screen captured video that is workable though I am having a couple of issues still. The Dv/NTSC standard of 720x480 PAR .9 is not the easiest to match up. I have output my camtasia video as an AVI, 640x480 with a PAR of 1 and set it to 30fps, I also set my premiere project to 30 fps. The AVI file I created is about 14 gigs as the movie is 9 minutes long. I tried importing it but only the first 2 minutes of the video come into the project which makes no sense to me. I am getting low on Hard Drive Space ~30 gigs left of 320, so maybe there are safeguards in the machine or program which won't let me use the whole file as it would bring me too close to the limit(don't worry, I'm getting a 1TB external drive later today). So now I am pondering my options and again asking for help.
My first question is why would a 9 minute avi cut itself off to 2 minutes when imported into premiere and how can I get it to import properly?
Second question, perhaps I am approaching this the wrong way, is there a better way to make a tutorial video with the screen captured AVi that I now have? I want to do some fancy stuff with AE an PP to make it shine but neither seem very willing to comply. What I'm considering is just producing an intro and ending separately and then importing the finished videos back into Camtasia, even though their transitions are kind of basic, it would work I think.
I am going to be using this alot as I have 12 different lessons to create so if Harm or anyone else wants to offer suggestions on the best way to approach this and/or fix my importing/compatibility issues, I would greatly appreciate it. -
How to get a custom screen capture size smaller than my slide size
Hi,
I'm trying to capture a fixed sized screen on my computer (a softphone) for use in a youtube hd size format training video. I can't seem to figure out how to customize the size of my screen capture so it fits only around the phone and leaves me blank space on my slides. Any ideas?
Thanks!
NikkieHi there
This should be simple. From Captivate, when you set it up to record you simply define an area there.
Or are you possibly saying you cannot consistently get a size set so that you can record many different projects perhaps over several days? If that's the case, perhaps you need to investigate using something like the freeware Sizer utility to configure things a bit.

When I was checking out the new tab view this morning, I noticed that there were screenshots from by accounts page on my banking website. I turned off the tiled display, but they came right back when i turned it on again. the problem is 1) I don't know where these screenshots are being stored, and how detailed they are (the thumbnails are blurry, but recognizable to me) and 2) how do I blacklist a domain from being screen capped for this purpose at all? The screen capture seems to not be related to having the tiles show up in the tab, since they came right back after toggling this setting.
these screenshots are stored in your browser's cache at the moment, but in future versions of firefox they will (together with the previews for tab panorama) be stored as plain picture files in a folder in the local applications data folder of windows & the number of screenshots will be optimized (reduced). the resolution is quite low, they are only available in the blurry format you already see.
you can remove sites by clicking the x button on the thumbnail - this will be remembered in a blacklist, however i'm not sure if this is affecting the whole domain or just the exact url (i suspect the latter). -
