This is pretty sad, having to ask this question, it should be easier to find, but on the itunes>music>audio books section, there is book genres but no search? i dont want to have to go through pages and pages when i can just type in the book name. is there any way to do this? audiobooks are not availble on the app store right?

How do I search for a specific artist in the itunes store? I can't find a search bar.

I am trying to find a specific artist who's music I want to purchase but I can not locate a manual search bar to input the artist name. I do not want to nor do I have the time to look through all featured artists to locate the specific artist to purchase. At this point I'm about to go to a brick and mortar store and just buy the CD.

If you are missing the Search field you may be missing the entire top section, together with the progress bar when playing and the red, yellow and green buttons. This can happen if iTunes overlaps the top of the screen (which of course it shouldn't do).
If this is the case, click and drag on the very bottom right-hand corner of the window (when in Library/Music or the iTunes Store) and drag upwards to reduce the height of the window. Then click on the bottom bar and drag downwards.

The search function is still very much there, upper right corner of the iTunes Window.

However when you go to Playlist view and choose a specific playlist there is no search bar or option anywhere to search for a specific song, artist, genre etc.

I like to listen to audiobooks but find some of the itunes audiobooks to be a little pricey! there are some good bargains but it is hard to find them. Is there a way that I can search the audiobook section of the itunes store for items by PRICE rather than author or name of book? thanks in advance~

The way I do it is when I look up a track, I click the artist name,
And it goes to listings by that artist.
As far as a text search by artist, I haven't had much success with that since iTunes 9, even using the search in the top bar (which changes from "Search Library" to "Search Store" once you open the store. Store searches still don't find what I'm looking for most of the time.

When I try to search for music by a specific artist in the iTunes store on my iPhone 5, I get an error that says "Can't connect to the iTunes store". This only happens when I search for music by this band. I can search for other artists and listen to song clips and everything seems to be connecting to the iTunes store just fine. But for some reason, it doesn't work with this artist. The band name is July for Kings. Not sure if anyone else has had this issue, but I hope so!

hopefully they can help. You may also be interested to know that for some reason it is just not available to a lot of people at the same time. Appears to be an issue of more users than their servers can handle. Has happened periodically for at least 6 months that I know of but apparently users are able to use within several days if there are no other issues with the users device.

You did not tell us where you might be searching, so I will assume you are searching in the iTunes Audiobooks Store.
Open iTunes, go to the iTunes Store, and click the downward arrow to the right of "Books" toward the top and select Audiobooks. Then if you don't see what you're looking for, type the search words in the search area toward the upper right of the iTunes window.

Dear all, first of all thanks for your support.
Please don’t hit me but I am currently a BlackBerry user, since this is the standard I got from the company I work for.
That said, new server technologies allows now to use also other devices with the same company server, something that gives me the chance to switch to an iPhone.
Basically it’s all ready for the switch, but just one thing holds me from making the step.
It’s the email messages filing procedure.
With the iPhone, assuming I am not missing something (something that I hope), when you want to file an email in one of your folders you select the “file” function and then you scroll with your finger across the folders list you have in your email account.
This is all right if you have an handful of folders, but if you have hundreds, if not thousands, of folders it will take forever to find the one you’re looking for.
With a BlackBerry, once you selected the email messages you’d like to file, and after you selected the “file” function, you can also scroll, but – very important for me – I can also start typing the initial letters of the folder I’m looking for. The more I type the less folders will appear, as less folders will match with letters I typed. Once the list is short enough to easily see the folder you want (usually after you typed two or three letters, which takes no more than a second), you can pick the folder you wanted in a blink of an eye.
This makes email messages filing a very fast operation, and since I use this for my job I can’t live without email filing.
If someone of you knows how to perform the same with an iPhone, and possibly with the original apple mail software, I will very glad to make the switch.
