How do I search the folder tree by parts of a folder name. Is there a folder library similar to the bookmark library to aid folder organization?

How can I search by email account folder names and bookmark folder names by keywords or parts of folder name? Is there a way to enter and associate keywords to email/bookmark folder names?
We file all our email transactions and bookmarks in an inverted tree structure under the appropriate ISP account and user name but often end up with duplicate taxonomical entries under multiple ISP accounts such as one for Roadrunner or Google-mail address for the same Windows user account and name. I sometimes create an identical folder in both accounts. Being able to search by foldername across email accounts in the same Windows username would be wonderful to correct bifurcations in folder name taxonomy.
What am I not doing right - Please?

Thank you ever so much. That was exactly what I'd wished for and need. I have installed it on all five of my computers.
I have been working on electronics and computers component level and programming since I was a Ham radio operator at age 14. This is one of the few times I've ever asked for an answer to a question and had it so fully satisfied by someone else rather than having to muddle my way through to a solution on my own.
Now that might not seem to be much praise (if you figure I might be 15) but I was 14 in 1963 and I held the position of senior corporate technical support engineer for Data General Corp. (old mini-computer manufacturer) I've been working on computers since bits were wooden!

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling premiere elements 10, but that did not have any effect on the video. Do you have any suggestions? I researched codec, but do not understand them at all.

If you are a Premiere Elements 10 user whose Windows computer uses a NVIDIA GeForce video card and you are experiencing
Premiere Elements 10 display and/or unexplained program behavior, then your first line of troubleshooting needs to be rolling
back the video card driver version instead of assuring that it is up to date.
Since October 2013 to the present, there have been a growing number of reports about display and unexplained workflow
glitches specific to the Premiere Elements 10 user whose Windows computer has a NVIDIA GeForce video card. If this applies
to you, then the “user to user” remedy is to roll back the NVIDIA GeForce video card driver as far as is necessary to get rid of
the problems. The typical driver roll back has gone back as far as March – July 2013 in order to get a working Premiere

TS1205 My iPhone 4S doesn't even show the sound bar. Even if I go into music, there's no sound bar at the bottom. What's wrong?

I admit, I did drop my phone into a cup of juice, but only up to the home button was submerged. From then the sound wasn't working. I put it in a cup of rice, and the sound resumed working again, but soon after it stopped working again. Not only is it not working, but sound bar isn't even displayed. When you press the side bars nothing happens, when you go to music there's no volume bar at the bottom of the page, but my ringtone continues to work. Is there anything I need to do to fix it, or should I buy a new iPhone all together?

Did you try to reset your iPhone? Hold down Power and Home buttons together until Apple logo appears.

I have a "welcome" sound byte on my web site, The Northern Bard. Whenever I open it in Firefox, there is a QuickTime crash and the sound byte doesn't play.

I have had a web site on Tripod since 1997. The opening page has Madeline Kahn doing the Lilly von Schtupp welcome from "Blazing Saddles", which plays on IE, Chrome, and other browsers, but NOT on Firefox. It's very annoying, when I keep getting updates from QuickTime on my desktop, to keep getting the "QuickTime has crashed" message, I keep REPEATEDLY sending crash reports, I've done all you tell me to do to get it to quit doing that, yet the problem continues.
How about either giving REAL solutions to the problem or fix whatever bug Firefox has up it's chimney so that people using Firefox to visit my web site can hear the music and sound bytes I programmed in to make my pages fun?

Sharing to vimeo impossible. when I try to share to vimeo and begin my sign in, when I type "i" i get "inspector" instead of being able to type the "i" which is part of my online name. HELP!

imovie 11 with Mountain Lion trying to share a video to Vimeo...sign in impossible. Try to type my sign in name and password for Vimeo. When I type and "i" which is part of my user name it brings up "inspector" which is a feature of imovie....tried several times, same result.

Apply the two fixes below in order as needed:
Fix #1
Launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
Select the options identified in the screenshot.

Using iPhoto Library Manager to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
Download IPhoto Library Manager 4 for OS XC 10.6.8 and iPhoto 8.1.2 and later or iPhoto Library Manager 3 (for OS X 10.5.8 and iPhoto 7.1.5 and earlier) and launch.
Click on the Add Library button, navigate to your Home/Pictures folder and select your iPhoto Library folder.
Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the File ➙ Rebuild Library menu (iPLM 3) or Library ➙ Rebuild Library menu (iPLM 4) option.
In the next window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments but not books, calendars or slideshows. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.

Ok...so I have the latest version of iTunes...why isn't there a cloud icon next to the movie I just bought? I assume I need it to download from iCloud.

What are you trying to do? If the movie is on your iPad, the cloud icon will not appear next to the movie. You will see the cloud icon next to the movie if you delete it from your iPad and then you can download it again. That is assuming that the movie is eligible for a free download as not every movie can be downloaded again for free.
This is a screenshot of the purchased tab in iTunes on my iPad. These movies are already on my iPad so there is no cloud icon next to them for another download.
What I don't understand is for what reason are you trying to access the movie? If you want to watch the movie, it is in the videos app. Maybe that is where I am missing the boat.

Is there not an app similar to the iTunes movie trailer app for the mac? i perviously owned a macbook pro and had a built-in app for movie trailers this was one of my favourite parts of the mac system.

There is a way to see (in small window) short bits and parts of video movies, where they exist, in the iTunes application from the store page in there. My older Mac with earlier version of iTunes lets me browse Music, Movies, TV stores, from the sections on the iTunes application; years ago there was more direct content. They used to have a site page for some of those clips... I haven't looked lately.

If you browse the items for sale/rent, a few have a tiny triangle on them and this opens the little window where a preview runs. A few actual movies will have an option to see a preview or trailer-like video in a similar small window that opens up over the store screen.
The older iTunes application in earlier Mac systems had various other features. In order to view movie trailer kinds of content streamed from the internet, you may have to look into a third party application or a web page.
There may be a list of applications included with certain models of Mac portables
and if you can find that name, that may be a talking point. The Store has lists of
what software may be included in the most recent Macs in each products info.

I can't buy photo book because some pages have writing instead of pictures. The program will not let me buy it. Is there any way I can buy the book the way it is.

I made a photo album through iphoto. On some of the pages I wrote paragraphs about the trip and I did not put pictures on them. When I try to go buy the book, the program won't let me because not all of the pages have pictures. What can I do to be able to purchase this book just the way it is. Can I by pass that. Please help.

Did those pages have frames where photos were to be placed? If so try using a page layout that just has text without any photos on it.

Safari comes with the Apple website pre-defined, so if you want to use it as the homepage for Safari, open Safari menu > Preferences > General, and type "http://www.apple.com" (without quotes) on the homepage box. Then, close the Preferences window and Safari will be set up with this page

How to retrieve a backup of an external hard drive from time machine if there is a drive failure of the external HD?

I have a time caspule that I use as my backup for Time machine.
My itunes folder is on an external drive and When I do my backups, I connect my external to my mac so that my itunes folder will be backed up.
When I do the back up, I know its backing up the external due to the size of the backup.
but if my external were to fail, how do I retrieve the back up of the external? From what I can tell the drive has to be connected to the mac when connecting to time machine to access the back up files for the external. But if the drive is dead, how do I retrieve my files?

budden10, please try this:
Disconnect the external drive to simulate it not working or having failed
Open Time Machine on your Mac and wait a few minutes for your backups to load fully
Go back in time and select a date when you were backing up the external drive
Now look at the Finder window and locate your Mac on the left side of the window under DEVICES
Click on your Mac
What do you see in the window there just to the right?

I think you are trying to install a computer application to use on an iPad. You can't. They are incompatible pieces of hardware. If you want Family Tree Maker for your iPad, then you need to get that version, if it exists, from the iTunes Store. That download can't be done via Safari.

I created a web page in MS Word and saved it as html; it has lots of graphics; the graphics load perfectly in Internet Explorer but in Firefox there is simply white space where the graphics should appear

The web page is not live: I just load it on my computer. When I convert the .docx file to .html, the graphics are saved by MS Word in the usual folder as image001.png, up to image032.png.
I'm sure this is a trivial problem but I can't crack it.

Does that "local" page work in Internet Explorer, but not Firefox?
If so, it might be a \ vs. / problem with the file path for those images.
