I have us holidays, birthdays now I want to add Jewish holiday calendar. I did subcribe but cannot see it on calendar.

My secretary uses Windows on a PC; she looks at everyone else's diaries in Outlook, which I don't like or use. How can we arrange for her to see and modify my iCal calendars which are synced through iCloud? My last secretary simply signed on as me, but I don't really want to share all my emails and all my calendars with the new one!
I have set up 'sharing' with her work account in my iCal account, but am not sure a) how to activate it from her end, and b) whether it will work.

Insert the USB flash drive in your computer and open it so it looks like a window.
Over in your iTunes library, highlight the tracks you want to copy.
Drag the tracks from iTunes to the open flash drive window. This puts copies on the drive, and does not affect the iTunes library.
(If you normally run iTunes in full screen mode, make it smaller so that you can do the drag.)

I had this problem as well. I deleted the app and it still was showing the birthday calendar in the list even though it was not selected and I was getting the notifications. To get rid of this, you have to go to the Settings App then scroll down to the facebook section (below the default apps & twitter) and delete your acount from there.

I use iCal to schedule jobs for customers and it does not let me see any events in the past when I use the search. Is there a setting or something? I can scroll back and see them but I can't search for them.

This may be a bug for all that I know but I am too cynical to believe that.
From everything that I have read, it appears as though Apple did remove the feature. What the reasons could be for that are beyond me. And I did find the paragraph that states that feature exists in the iPad. I copied this from the iPad User Guide for iOS 5. The free book that I downloaded in iBooks.

Display the album cover by tapping the thumbnail at the top of the screen. Lyrics appear if you’ve added them to the song using the song’s Info window in iTunes."
However, who knows with Apple anymore. Case in point - Apple changed the wording on their website about multitouch gestures being one of the new features of iOS 5, a day or two after the update came out. They decided to release the feature to work on the iPad 2 only - even though the website promoted the feature as being one of the new features for the "iPad" for months leading up to the release - leading all users to believe that it would work on the iPad 1 as well. I don't know if you read any of those threads but the screaming is finally starting to die down on that one.
My point is that even thought the guide says that the song lyrics works, I have not read of anyone that can confirm that it does. Maybe someone else will confirm that the feature is in the iOS, but I don't believe that it is. So for the time being - for me anyway - it is not a bug - but another "why did they do that" decision by Apple.

Getting old and forgetful------how do I de-select Subscriptions for iCal

New user of iCal here. Often when I print iCal, I forget to de-select the schedules for my grandsons' hockey games and practices that my DIL has published on her MobileMac account. The result is that I get a tsunami of info for the three grandsons schedules that I don't need so often. I've searched Sync function....but haven't found a way to turn off this info print as the standing condition......What am I missing....besides a few brain cells...............

Once they've been added iTunes will not automatically add them back. All you need to do is delete them from iTunes. Unless you choose to add the folder to the library again they will remain out of iTunes.

I thought that was the case. I'm happy enough syncing Entourage to my iPhone. The last update to Entourage actually fixed that. I was just curious if the Entourage calendar in iCal would appear in the iCloud via iCal. Obviously it doesn't unless you want to "force" the issue. Thanks for taking the time. Bill

Same as above except I can complete and further detail the problem.
1) when using ical event subscriptions, you are downloading an URL which goes to implement ical.
2) Of course when I am going to ical calendar list, I right click on the mouse and I erase the calendar subscription. No problem about that !
3) Most of us are intuitively trying to solve and fix the problem we can have. Accordingly my hesitations made that I have subscribed several times the same ical event. (7 times....)
4) Why 7 times ? because I was doing what you have recommended above, I mean erasing the Ical event subscribed and then re subscribing it...
5) each time you re trying to make it appeating again into ical because you want that subsribed event, it is occuring on ical the exact numer of time you have subscribed the event previously.
6) In my case, 7 times .... and if I am continuing like this it will never end...
SO THE QUESTION IS : How to erase the PREVIOUS URL event subscription ??? because it is stored somewhere in the system ... and finally have only a UNIQUE URL subscription.

Created Subscription - Ummm, now how do I see the data?

I'm sure this is ridiculously easy, but I've drawn a complete blank. I've created a snapshot publisher on one server, and created a push subscription on another server using SSMS. It seems to be ok, but, um, ok, now what do I do to access the data from
the subscription. Sad thing is, I've done this before a few months ago, but even after Googling the hell out of it, I'm still at a complete loss. This is only the second subscription I've ever created, the first one is working fine, the data ends up in another
table on the subscribing server, but I can't figure out how it's getting there or what I did to make it happen. And no select statement I write has any clue about the existence of the subscription I just created. I'm feeling like I'm standing in the middle
of the tall grassy field and just dropped the tiny but important screw onto the ground.

Connect to your subscriber using SSMS. Drill down on the subscriber database to expose the table folder. Drill down on teh table folder. Do you see the tables you replicated?
If so, right click on one and select top 1000 rows.
If you do not see the tables, return to the publisher using SSMS, expand the replication folder, and Local Publications, locate your publication, and then expand it to see the subscriptions, right click on a subscription and select View Subscription Status
and start it.

I have several entries (too many) on calendars created prior to iCloud. They are listed as calendars 'On My Mac'. How can I get this information to my phone? I understand that iCloud makes On My Mac calendars obsolete?
I use my phone calendar to see my duties for the day, and only add entries if I'm out and on the fly. These I don't mind typing into the iCloud calendars. But my regular process when I'm sitting in front of the computer is to add them via iCal using the On My Mac calendars created years ago, over time. I need to see this information while on the go. How can I?

Welcome to the Apple Community.
Create a new empty calendar from the iCal file menu, select which account you want to create it in.
If you have only a few appointments you can move them individually by editing them and changing the calendar in the edit options.
Alternatively you can copy all the appointments in one calendar to another and delete the original.
To copy a calendar ctrl-click on it from the menu that appears when you select the calendar button (top left corner of iCal) and choose export (export it to your desktop for ease)
Double click the exported file and choose the new empty calendar to import them into.
Ctrl-click on the original calendar from the menu that appears when you select the calendar button and choose delete.

Why, when MobileMe was shuttered, does Apple NOT support calendar subscriptions for iCal (Calendar)? I upgraded to Mountain Lion and cannot migrate my Dutch, U.K., Islamic, or Catholic holiday subscriptions.

I upgraded to Mountain Lion and cannot migrate my Dutch, U.K., Islamic, or Catholic holiday subscriptions. I had a heck of a time getting my Detroit Tigers Baseball team schedules migrated (but Major League Baseball supported the subscriptions, so it occurred). As I work internationally, having these calendar subscriptions on the new Calendar would be very useful.
If one goes to the Apple site, and seeks calendars [http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/calendars/index1.html], they are shunted to MobileMe [https://www.icloud.com/mobileme/not_found/], with the note "MobileMe is closed. Go to iCloud." But, I do not see how to get subscriptions from iCloud.

The problem is that many of these calendars were hosted on MobileMe. I actually tried about 20 at random, and only two worked! Not all of the failures were ex-MobileMe, some were on other servers but produced 'File Not Found'.
Strangely, this one worked despite its URL:

Until the people who publish these calendars (it's not Apple, they are third-party) wake up and find alternative servers these calendars are not available.
There may be other sources which work - try Googling.

I USED to be able to do this in IPhoto, but since upgrading, it seems to be impossible. It is EXTREMELY difficult to find the photos I want when dealing with Icons no matter WHAT their size.
Along with "faces" - which I neither need, nor want, nor seem to be able to get rid of, this is the most irritating aspect of Iphoto. But of course, it's possible that, having spent a week reading the entire manual page by page, and searching every known corner of the Internet - I simply am not smart enough to find the correct answer to this question. OKAY. I can admit my limtiations.

Like the original poster, I'd like to view events as a simple list. A solution is given in this thread but it does not completely provide what I would like.
I would additionally like to have the option to sort the collapsed list of events. Specifically, I would like options to choose sort alphabetically or by date, ascending or descending. The collapsed events list in the photos view seems to be hardwired to display events chronologically.
I am aware that in events view, event tiles can be sorted in the way that I want. However, it is the simple, collapsed list of events that I would like to sort.
Are there any 3rd party iPhoto companion apps that can read my iPhoto library and give me a more controllable view of my events list?

The calendar seems to be the only way to see reminders right now. I'm aware of no 3rd party program that deals with just reminders...but I'd like to find one.
