How do I see my computer desktop on apple tv?

I understand that I can use my apple tv as a monitor for my computer, so that should enable me to see a movie or, for example, an Amazon streamed movie from my computer on my Apple TV. But how do I get my computer screen to show up there? I see the Computer button option, but it seems to only take me to itunes.
Can anyone help?

You cannot. Go to your account in the store, Deauthorise All and then re-authorise the computers you still have.

You can't. Have you reached the limit of 5 authorized computers? If so, the authorizations aren't referring to what computers an iPod has been linked to, but instead refers to computers that have been authorized to play and sync your iTunes purchased content.

How to I see my Borders Desktop Books in ADE

As per the rather difficult to locate directions on Border's site, I downloaded ADE to my laptop so I could transfer my newly purchased ebooks onto my reader. However ADE does not see these books and I don't know how to make it see them. I used to use my Sony eReader ebook library to download books from Borders and transfer them to my eReader. Now, with Borders new software, and ADE to boot, I can't get the books to my eReader. Please help. Thanks.

this is what i encountered on my laptop (i'm on a macbook pro): Sign on to Borders.com and under "Your Account" click on the link "My eBook Library". next to your eBooks there is an option to "download epub". click on this and a pop-up box for ADE came up to download the app, but since i already did this part so, Select "Already have the app" to Continue. a file called "URLLink.acsm" automatically downloads to my laptop (my mbp has it set-up where any downloads go directly to a folder called "Downloads"). open Finder, find "URLLink.acsm" file under my Downloads folder, select and open it (Command-O). ADE automatically downloads it into its application and i can see it from there! ...hope this helps. i don't own a Sony Reader so i don't know where it goes from ADE once it shows up to there, but at least you should be able to "See It" now in the ADE app.

My father passed away a few months ago and I have inherited his iMac. How can I set his iMac now to my Apple ID instead of his? I am currently still under his Apple ID yet he no longer has e-mail, etc... and I would like to see my things instead.

The first thing you should do after acquiring a used computer is to erase the internal drive and install a clean copy of OS X. How you do that depends on the model. Look it up on this page to see what version was originally installed.
If the machine shipped with OS X 10.4 or 10.5, you need a boxed and shrink-wrapped retail Snow Leopard installation disc, which you can get from the Apple Store or a reputable reseller — not from eBay or anything of the kind.
If the machine shipped with OS X 10.6, you need the gray installation discs that came with it. If you don't have the discs, order replacements from Apple. A retail disc, or the gray discs from another model, will not work.
To boot from an optical disc, insert it, then reboot and hold down the C key at the startup chime. Release the key when you see the gray Apple logo on the screen.
If the machine shipped with OS X 10.7 or later, it should boot into Internet Recovery mode when you hold down the key combination option-command-R at the startup chime. Release the keys when you see a spinning globe.
Once booted from the disc or in Internet Recovery, launch Disk Utility and select the icon of the internal drive — not any of the volume icons nested beneath it. In the Partition tab, select the default options: a GUID partition table with one data volume in Mac OS Extended (Journaled) format. This operation will permanently remove all existing data on the drive, which is what you should do.
After partitioning, quit Disk Utility and run the OS X Installer. When the installation is done, the system will automatically reboot into the Setup Assistant, which will prompt you to transfer the data from another Mac, its backups, or from a Windows computer. If you have any data to transfer, this is usually the best time to do it.
You should then run Software Update and install all available system updates from Apple. If you want to upgrade to a major version of OS X newer than 10.6, buy it from the Mac App Store. Note that you can't keep an upgraded version that was installed by the previous owner. He or she can't legally transfer it to you, and without the Apple ID you won't be able to update it in Software Update or reinstall, if that becomes necessary. The same goes for any App Store products that the previous owner installed — you have to repurchase them.

When I use the Apple TV, I cant see the folders I've created on my Iphoto. Instead of that the Apple tv shows my entire (12,500) pics database. Anyone know how to split that data out?

When you say folders, I assume you are referring to albums or events. Have you checked these albums or events in your homesharing set up in iTunes.

I hit Apple+Shift+D in the Save Window and apparently it changed the menu hereon. At least evertime I quit then reopen and try to save, the Desktop is always up by default now.

I wouldn't suggest streaming DVDs from a Mac to AppleTV. I tried it once and it was awful. And I'm using a 50mp/s with my Apple Time Capsule. To mirror your Mac screen to the TV, you go under displays in system preferences. Under display, you should have the option that says "AirPlay Display." If you click it, your AppleTV should show up. Select your TV.

The only way to turn on airplay mirroring would be toggling it via your Mac. Also, it wouldn't be recommended as a replacement for your main screen. Your best bet is to take in the Mac for repair.
