How do I see my files in iPhoto 9.6

Is there any way to make all of my files (photos) visible in finder?  An older version of iPhoto allowed you to see all of your files in Finder without having to search for them.  I was wondering if there is a preference setting that would allow me to view my files?
Other issue:  I recently had an Apple store wipe my hard drive due to frequent crashes.  I copied all of my iPhoto files onto an external drive.  I have tried to use Migration Assistant to "import" from the external to my computer, but it doesn't seem to be able to find the external drive.  Is there an easy way to get all of my iPhoto files (files are from two different versions of iPhoto) along with the albums and folders I set up on iPhoto back onto my computer into the new version of iPhoto?  I hope that made sense.

You're the only one who thinks that you have to purchase another programme to do this. Everyone else manages all the ways in that tip.
If you can't see a Media Heading in your Open dialogue then be sure you're using the long form - looks like a Finder window and consider that you might need to scroll. It's there for everybody else.
There is a Photo Browser option in the New Message window in Mail. In the current version look at the top of the window and note the four buttons. It's the one next to the A.

Do you mean Time Machine files or ordinary files.. ??
Did you copy files to the TC? It should just open in the finder as long as the TC is available and the airport utility shows it connected.
If you want to see the contents of the TM files.. open the sparsebundle and use main Time Machine icon in the dock.

  • How do I export video files from iPhoto to a backup external hard drive for safekeeping?

How do I export video files from iPhoto to a backup external hard drive for safekeeping?  Each time I try, the video will not play from the external hard drive.

Use the File ➙ Export ➙ File Export menu option with Kind = Original.  That should get the original video file exported.  Try to export one to the Desktop first and open it with Quicktime Player.  If all goes well export the rest to a folder on the EHD. How is the EHD formatted?  It should be OS X Extended (journaled).

I believe this works for a directory of reasonable size.

  • How do I move AVI files from iPhoto to an AVI player app?

I have transferred some files from an SD card on to my iPad. They're stored as AVI files in iPhoto but I can't get them to play. I've downloaded an app called Playable which can play AVI but don't know how to transfer the files in to the app.

Are you able to play them? If not and the fact that the Show File gets you nowhere indicates that those video files are missing from the hard drive. Download Find Any File and search for one of the avi files by full name including extension.

  • HT2531 How can I see a file's enclosing folder.

Often I just need to know where a file is, not to open it.  If I go to Spotlight, how can I see what its enclosing folder is?  I think this used to pop up when hovering over a file name in Spotlight.
    Thankyou.

If you are talking about the spotlight search in the upper right of the finder window it still has the tooltip that shows you the full pathname of what you are pointing at in the list.
If you select spotlights show all then the pathname is outlined at the bottom of the spotlight window and you can double click any of the items along that path to open that item.

  • How do you locate the file where iPhoto library is kept? I moved iPhoto library from hard drive to external dedicated photo drive.

I am trying to restore some elements of my iPhoto library using time machine.
Apple instructions call for locating the file where iPhoto library is kept, and tells you where it is on your hard drive. But I've recently moved my iPhoto library to a dedicated external hard drive, and copied my i photo library there. when i click on it, all the photos are there, but it's an iPhoto library, not a file.
When I go into time machine and click on the date i would like to enter, most of my apps have a circle with a line through it, unaccessible. So: a related question, how would i retrieve a photo file from time machine's previous backup? thank you.

    Thank you!
I am trying to retrieve photo uploads from my Android phone. When I last updated my OS, most of these vaporized, leaving only thumbnails. I have had two lengthy sessions with Apple phone support, but still haven't solved the problem.
Apparently I can't go back to July '14 iPhoto in time machine and browse files; i have to copy the entire library.
Which I just did, taking 2 hours.
In order to open the iPhoto library from July '14, I had to first update iPhoto.
When I went into the files, the same problem existed -- photo files gone, only thumbnails there. So now I'm thinking that it's the update that was the problem. This scares me to death, because when we're asked to update, we don't get a menu of preferences to make sure something has been unchecked, like the copy option i had enabled when opening photo files from my phone, which i store in a dropbox folder.
No one at Apple could tell me why this happened, so I have no idea how to prevent it from happening in the future.
That's why I'm trying to create better backups...but i can't figure out deja vu, because it won't open and sync the iPhoto library folder -- it wants me to find the file, and i don't know where it is on the external dedicated photo drive.
I realize this is about six issues, not one. But I'm really appreciative of any help i can get!

  • How open and see Log File in Active Directory

    Hello Friends..   ^-^
how i can open log files active directory and see this data files ?
    Can export this logs ?
    thanks for help.

And adds a definition of edbxxxxx.log for completeness:
These are auxiliary transaction logs used to store changes if the main Edb.log file
gets full before it can be flushed toNtds.dit.
The xxxxx stands for a sequential number in hex. When the Edb.log file
    fills up, an Edbtemp.log file
is opened. The original Edb.log file
is renamed to Edb00001.log, and Edbtemp.log is
    renamed to Edb.log file,
and the process starts over again. Excess log files are deleted after they have been committed. You may see more than one Edbxxxxx.log file
if a busy domain controller has many updates pending.
