How do I see slideshows from iPhoto

I had a number of slideshows in iPhoto but I do not seem able to find them in Photos. Is it possible to get them back?

Open imovie.
Look in the Event Library for the iPhoto Event. OPen it and you should see your iPhoto video clips, arranged in Events. You can drag all or portions of these clips into an iMovie Project.

First export the slideshow as a QT movie file and import it into iTunes.  Then use iTunes to upload the movie to your iPhone.

  • How to Make  DVD Slideshow From iPhoto? I need help !!!!!

What's the easiest way to import about 160 photos from iPhoto to a DVD with background music to send to Grandmom as a slideshow? She's 83 and really wants to see a bunch of pictures of her grandkids, and loves the DVDs I've done in the past (using iLife '06). I now have iLife 2009.
I have attempted to get a DVD with music to burn, but it isn't working. As in the past, I have gone from iPhoto, dropping the selected photos into iMovie, added music from iTunes, and imported that to iDVD but it takes Sooooooo long (seems like this route used to be faster). Any way shorter? More efficient?
I do it that way because I recall that iDVD in prior versions was restricted to 99 photos, so I always went from iPhoto to iMovie to iDVD. But '09 is different than '06; I can't even get music to import from iTunes or play on the DVD I burned using this rather long procedure(not copy protected, either). So, I'm at a loss.
What am I doing wrong? How do I do it correctly?
Step by step instructions would be much appreciated!

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. You have to have a theme but you can have the slideshow begin automatically when the disk is inserted into a DVD player. Go to the Map mode in iDVD and drag the slideshow into the blue box at the far left:
But there has to be a theme for iDVD to drop back to when it finishes the slideshow. BUT you could set the slideshow to loop endlessly so it would never drop back to the theme unless you stopped it manually and exited to the theme. You set the repeat option in the Advanced menu.

  • How do I burn slideshow from iphoto to a dvd?

I am trying to burn a slideshow in iphoto directly to a dvd.  I exported it to idvd, but have never used idvd and can't figure it out and don't have time right now.  I just want to made a copy of a completed slideshow which exists in iphoto.  Doesn't seem it should be this hard, but since I'm short on time, everything seems hard.    Any help will be much appreciated!  Thanks.

Do you want play the sideshow on a TV set?  If so you need to use the Share ➙ iDVD menu option while in the slideshow mode.  That will open iDVD and add the movie as a Quicktime file to the iDVD project.
Then make what changes to the theme of the project and use the File ➙ Save as Disk Image menu option.  This will create a disk image of the project.  Open the disk image and launch DVD Player to play the DVD.  If the disk image plays OK in DVD Player that's an indication that the encoding process was successful.
Next burn the disk image to disk using Disk Utility and burn at the slowest speed possible to ensure the best burn.  Also use good quality disks like Verbatium, Maxell or Taiyo Yuden DVD-R.  When you're done you'll be able to play the sideshow in any set top DVD player on a TV set.
If you just want a Quicktime movie version of your slideshow use the Export button at the bottom of the window and select size of the movie you want, usually medium or large.
Then you can drag the movie file onto an empty disk on the desktop to burn.  However, this method will require you to have a computer with Quicktime installed in order to play the slideshow.

How can I export a slideshow from iPhoto to iMovie 09.  I try, but it only exports 211 out of the 311 photos I have in the slideshow I made on iPhoto.

how do i change the format to the right one?
Before you can decide what to do, you have to know what you are starting with. Sony MPEG-1 files would be converted one way while DivX or WMV files would likely be handled in another. Extraneous tracks can be removed directly with QT Pro but if you don't have QT Pro then there may or may not be other work around possibilities depending on the specific audio and video compression formats in use. The best place to start would normally be to double-clic the source file in iPhoto to open it in the QT Player. When it opens in the QT Player, check the "Inspector" window to see what it says on the "Format:" lines. This will tell you the type of audio and video content you are dealing with here. Then come and tell us so we can offer some specific conversion solutions.

  • When I copied a photo from any site, how can I see it in iPhoto

When I copied a photo from any site, how can I see it in iPhoto?

When you tap and hold on image in safari, there will be context menu. Usually there two options at least:
    * Save image
    * Copy
If you'll tap Copy - it will be copied to buffer and you can paste it at your new email (for ex.)
If you'll tap Save image - it will be saved in Photos app on your iPad (in my case it saves at Camera roll album)

How do I burn a slidshow from iPhoto to a DVD?

Export the slideshow from iPhoto, that makes a movie of it.
Do you want to use this DVD in a domestic DVD player? If so, then the disk will have to be 'authored' to make it the correct form for that. If you have iDVD then that's the app you use. However, iDVD is no longer developed or distributed by Apple. You may be able to get it on an old iLIfe install disk.
    Other options:
    Burn: http://macupdate.com/app/mac/21992/burn
    Toast: http://macupdate.com/app/mac/6351/toast-titanium
But there are lots of others too. Search on the App Store or MacUpdate

  • H.264 slideshow from iPhoto looks terrible in QT X

What is going on here? I just exported a slideshow from iPhoto '09 as 1280x720 h.264. Quen I play this with quicklook or with QT X it looks terrible. Colors are washed out and desaturated.
However, if I view it in QT 7 Pro on the same machine, the movie looks fine. Colors are bold and nice.
This file is going to play on another mac (not SL), how will it look there? Can anyone explain why this occurs?
    Thanks,
    -Ed

Yeah, with 400 slides, even without the video and music, you're going to have a large file any way you look at it. However, large isn't a BAD thing when you're looking at creating something for DVD since large usually = high quality = good for that purpose.
Let's ignore the final output for now and always export as small ( or medium, just enough to see that your timing is right) for your tests. Figure out between the Keynote presentation and the QuickTime movie what appears to be going on. Do you hear audio then a loooong pause before the next transition? Are your movies not displaying like you want them to? Both of these are caused by the differences between the way Keynote and QuickTime deals with media. In Keynote, if you want a movie clip to play for 4 seconds, you have to put in a 4 second delay for it. When you export this to QuickTime, QuickTime puts in the video PLUS adds the 4 second delay so that you'll have pauses where it looked like Keynote was synched better.
Make a copy of your presentation and, if you have any delays, remove all of them and re-export to see if that solves a few of your problems.

  • Sending Slideshows from iPhoto

I've created a slideshow (with music) in iPhoto (08) and would like to share this with my family. How do I do this? I tried uploading to youtube.com a while back but the quality was horrible! Is there a better way to share my slideshows from iphoto (with music) and/or video with people? (both mac users and pc users)
I am sure it can be done - I see people's videos and photo slideshows with music all the time on their blogs. I just don't know how to do it. I hope someone can help or point me in the right direction.

    Patti:
Welcome to the Apple Discussions. See my response in Q: how to save book as slideshow? for ways to save the slideshow as a QT movie and one way to create an iDVD slideshow from it. As far as the iDVD is concerned for your slideshow you would add your QT movie file to an iDVD project and burn to disk. If you don't use the KB effect in the movie you can create the slideshow in iDVD with the same music and get a higher quality image in the final product that with adding a QT movie. But that's just my opinion.
To get it to the web you would have to use QT Pro or a 3rd party application to reduce the file size before adding to a Web Gallery in iPhoto or an iWeb site. You can learn about the best way to go about that over in the iWeb forum. Some top notch Quicktime gurus over there.
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 08 libraries and Leopard. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

Not using the correct structure. Camera's use a very exact structure and the only way the camera will see photos on the card is for them to be in that exact structure

how do I export pictures from iphoto to a sd card?

Exporting from iPhoto to the SD card is preferable. Dragging to the card will only write the lower quality  preview files and not the high resolution originals.
Export to a folder on the Desktop and then drag the folder to the card. If the file system on the SD Card is not MacOS Extended (Joournaled), you'll avoid a problem with the limit of files, that can be stored on the top level of the card by collecting all files in a folder.
Actually I found the opposite was true.
As you can see in the following picture, the dragged photo, which is the one named IMG_2268.JPG  retained more metadata and had a larger file size than the one I exported which was reduced in file size, and lost a bit of the meta data in the export.   Including the creation date, and the latitude and longitude.
I think Dragging is the better option.
