How do I selectively erase old data from old computers on my Time Capsule to make room for my new computer data?

My new computer did one complete backup on the Time Capsule now I get the message that there is insufficient room to complete further backups.
(128 GB available, my backup size is 170GB but the time capsule is 998GB)
I suspect that information from old computers is there. How do I selectively remove that information or do I have to erase the whole Time Capsule and start over with my new computer and backup again?

Check the info here.. but big warning .. it often fails.. if you want to keep your old backups archive them off the TC to USB drive.. then erase and start fresh clean backup.

I have a Time Capsule which I use as a wireless router, etc. Everything is working fine. I have another user I'd like to allow to back up data to the same Time Capsule (using Time Machine as well). However, I'd like to keep the backed up data separate so if there was ever a need for a restore, our data wouldn't be jumbled together. Yes, Time Machine backs-up your entire system, unless you specifically tell it not to. So that user's stuff is already being backed-up. See #26 in Time Machine - Frequently Asked Questions.
The backups are in the same folder hierarchy, with the same permissions, as on your Mac; so each user is separate, and even an Admin user doesn't have access to a different user's files.
When you do a full system restore from your backups, everything is copied back, just as it was.
Via +Setup Assistant+ or +Migration Assistant,+ you can restore selected users and their data to a different Mac, either from your backups or directly from your Mac.

PC can access TC .. just load airport utilities on to the laptops.. that makes it easier to locate the TC.
Set the disk sharing area, workgroup correctly.. usually WORKGROUP..
Turn on the guest account.. read and write access also makes life easier.
Also windows can have a hard time with typical TC name.. like fred's time capsule.. that is illegal name in SMB.. change to simple short name.. no spaces pure alphanumeric.. same with wireless names (SSID to normal humanity).
Note the second question.. should you??
Mixing data and TM backups is not wise in the long run.. TM will mess up if it cannot access the disk.

Also go back to top menu and read the FAQ.. TM is much more complex than you think and TC is primarily a TM target .. anything else you do.. remember one day the TC will die. it has no way to back itself up. and all your files will go with it..
I repair them and I am sitting here tonight with a dead 1TB .. had lots of data poor lady off loaded from her laptop.. and now it is all gone.

I want to move data from my external USB hard drive to time capsule.
If I drag and drop, it seems go through my computer, and it's 500 gig of data, that impossible, is there a way to direct copy?

I recently purchased a new macbook and am having trouble syncing my iPhone with the iTunes. It won't allow me to delete any of the music on my phone, so I am unable to make room for the new software upgrade. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Does anyone know how to enable editing on a new computer? I only have an 8gb phone and over 4gbs of music, half of which I don't even listen to anymore. I really want it off my phone, but when I plugged it into my new macbook nothing would delete. My old computer barely turns on so I can't even plug it into the old one to delete anything. Here are two screen shots to show you what I am seeing. The first screen shot shows it allowing me to select (highlighted in blue) my admin user (which is what I am locced in as). The second screen shot shows it allowing me to select the "Guest" user (highlighted in blue). However when I click on the user "Orion" nothing happens. It will not change to highlight that user.

When I run my program for a relatively long period of time, a memory problem occurs!
There are a number of threads in my program running simultaneously (for example 16) created from a single class, and in every one of them, there are two different threads, which are responsible for some different periodic jobs. So I sleep them for a random time periodically, and they do that job in a repeating manner. On the other hand, each one of theses main (16) threads, invoke some methods of the other ones, with a random delay. In order to implement this delayed invocations, without blocking the hole thread itself, I use a Timer and its method, schedule(object, delay). In another class which I pass an instant of it as the first argument of schedule(object, delay), I invoke the method of another main thread (one of those 16 threads).
But the problem is after running my program for a while, this error shows up, and the program doesn't act normally after that:
"Exception in thread "Timer-11324(or some other number like this)" java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: unable to create new native thread"
What should I do? Does these Timers and their background threads dispose after their times passed? Or, should I dispose it manually? If it is so. how can I do that?

You are right, I put the declaration of these timers inside the methods in the main class, but they must be outside them!

But if I put the deceleration outside the methods, and directly in the main class, and if we invoke a method having this timer.schedule() continuously, is there a problem for last scheduled jobs?

Ok so I think I have most of the kinks worked out in how iOS 5 works for me. But I am having one problem. I have more movies than I can put on my iPad 2 (64gb) at once. So i deleted some movies from it in order to make room for some new purchases. However, now when I want to get them back on, I can't figure out how without, resyncing it with my computer. What if I only owned the iPad and didn't have the movies anywhere else? I have figure out how to get music and tv shows I have previously purchased, but can't for the life of me figure out how to get back a movie I alredy purchased.

The iCloud data will be on the new computer as soon as you download the iCloud control panel and sign into iCloud with your iCloud ID. What you see in iCloud is stored in iCloud, so it really doesn't matter what computer you are on. Once that computer is signed onto iCloud and the iCloud options are selected, you have full access to all of that information, and much of it is pushed back to your computer.
If you are referring to the data in an iCloud backup created by an iOS device, then that is not something that would be on a computer at all.

You need to sync the data from your old iPhone, to the computer via iTunes. Once the data is on the computer, you then need to sync it to the new iPhone, also via iTunes.

I suspect unless he had some items in iCloud backup then they are gone. Connecting an iPhone to a different library from that to which it was previously connected will result in the device asking if you want to erase it.

Connect the old iPhone to your computer, launch iTunes, select the iPhone under Devices on the left side of the iTunes window.
Select Apps from the menu, select the Sync Apps box, then click Sync.
