How do i send a group email without showing recipient names?

hi
i would like to ask how do i send a group email without showing recipient names - without using bcc!
i have seen that peple send group emails and only the only info that appers is the: from and to emails are the same as the sender email.
how do i do that?
isnt there any app for Gmail to do that?
i am using gmail
thank you

If you address the email to yourself and then put all your recipients in the bcc it appears to each recipient as if they got your email. In other words they will not see anyone else's name or even their own name - just yours.

how do I send group emails without entering each seperate? The groups I created in gmail don't show in my contacts on phone

    Hi Nancy,
The other poster has only given a partial answer, so I thought I'd better post as its now something of a specialist subject for me.
Groups in your device are a means to group together all your contacts for friends, work colleagues etc. in your address book. they are normally created in a Mac or Windows PC address book and synched across. However your device can't send email to everyone in those groups at once using the default apps. (The reason Apple chose to do this is probably that contacts can have one, many or no email addresses, so there isnt a direct relationship between these groups and how you'd want to email them.)
There are a number of apps available which let you define groups and send email to them inside a custom app, this works well but you can only send mail to groups from inside their app, so you can only include attachment types they have thought of, and have no means to forward a received email with attachments to a group.
The only app that takes a different approach is our MailShot app, this creates special group contacts in your address book. They can be used to send email to a MailShot group from inside your favourite apps, just like it was built into the iPhone. By using them in Mail you can forward emails to a group of people, with attachments intact, or by using them from a different app, like GoodReader or Google Maps, you can send whatever attachments those apps create.
Mailshot will be back in the App store next week, free to try with an in-app upgrade available to increase the number of groups and contacts it handles.

  • TS3899 How do I send a group email and not have to select each person

How do I send a group email without having to select each person separately

    Hi Blair
You dont need to use a server, but you will probably need a group emailing app of some sort to help you.
There are a number of apps available on the App Store. Most will only let you send email from inside their own app, but MailShot Pro uniquely creates special contacts that you can use right from the Mail app, and tens of thousands of compatible apps, building group email right in.
You can find the app at https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/mailshot-pro-group-email-done/id445996226?ls=1&m t=8, a free version is also available, which can only create a few, smaller groups, but can be upgraded.

You can set up email groups in Contacts. The articles says Address Book (Contacts old name), but it still works.

You need a third party app. You can't create contacts groups in the built in mail app. Look at...

Hey there bobshoela. I am glad to hear that you have the Maxx HD. The battery life on that device is amazing and I hope you are enjoying it so far.
Sending a group e-mail on the device is extremely easy. For steps on how to send an e-mail visit http://vz.to/YovP5V. If you are sending the e-mail to multiple people, you'll want to put a semi-colon after each e-mail address in the To: field.

There is a potential security flaw in the BCC feature.
According to the conventions of the SMTP protocol, all addresses, including BCC addresses, are included in every email as it is sent over the Internet. The BCC addresses are stripped off blind copy email only at the destination email server. Therefore, if the addressee controls their email server or can access it, they could examine the BCC addresses on every email they receive.
Very occasionally, an email server will be misconfigured and not strip off the BCC list on email it sends to its local users, revealing the complete blind copy address field to users that receive the email at that domain. Therefore, BCC is very good but not perfect at keeping addresses confidential, and should not be relied on for the most critical and sensitive of communications.

  • How do I send a group email using OSX 10.9.5

    Hello out there,
Can one of you much smarter people help me out??
I have a mac desktop with OS X 10.9.5 on it.
I would like to make a group of about 300 names , or more if possible and send it.
How do I make the group, then attach to my email ?, preferably without the other recipients seeing each other's names?
    Thank you,

To send to multiple contacts without others seeing the other members of the group. use the BCC field. If a new message window doesn't show the BCC field, click view in the menu and click on BCC in the submenu to add it to the message header.
In Mavericks, you can open the address panel in Mail's menu under Window. You can select all addresses you wish to use. Use the shift-click key to select multiple addresses in a row and the command-click key when not in a row. Once the contacts are highlighted, select the field (BCC) and it will open a new message with the names populated, or drag them to the field of an open compose message window.
You can also open your Contact application. Create a group. Drag the recipients you want to this group. If a contact has more than one email address, you can go to Edit in the menu and choose Edit Distribution List. Select the group and click on the address of the contact you want to use in the list.
Once you have a group created, open a new message window in Mail. Type the group name in the address field (BCC) you wish to use.

  • How to send a group email where the recipients' names and addresses remain anonymous?

I wish to send out an email to a "Group" in my Apple Contacts. I want the several recipients in the group to be unknown to each other, where their names and addresses are invisible – except myself, the creater of the email.
Does Apple 'Mail' and/or 'Contacts' allow for this?
And, by keeping the group invisable, will this prevent any one recipient from responding as a 'Reply All,' thereby still being able to respond to everyone in the otherwise invisible group?

Put the addresses in the Bcc field. If it is not shown, select it from the button on the compose window:
