How do I send ical alerts to Outlook?  It always defaults to Mail :o(

Hi!
I would love a suggestion.
When I schedule an email alert in ical to be sent to my email, it continuously tries to send this to my mac Mail account rather than Outlook.  I have chosen Outlook as my default email application as I don't use Mail at all, however, no matter what I do it continues to try and open Mail instead of send this email alert to my Outlook.
This is very frustrating and I swear I have tried everything.
Any ideas?
THANK YOU!
DGB

Hi,
I think you are mixing up data formats here. I guess that the you shouldn't send the ASCII string "255 25 42 69 25 42 69 /r" here, but the numbers represent byte values. E. g. the number 255 represents the maximum value of one byte, but if you put this value into a string and send it to your device, you effectively send three bytes with the values 50 (= ASCII value for the character "2"), 53 (= ASCII "5") and 53 (= ASCII "5"). /r is the symbol for carriage return which equals to a byte value of 13.
The best way to create your command string is to use a byte array (U8) and convert it into a string.
The string is not human readable, but it represents the byte values of your commands.
I hope this helps,

How do I send iCal invites on OS 10.6

Seems Apple is making things more difficult with every OS update. Back in the day you used to be able to organize your applications instead of having them all in one folder. You used to have a lot more freedom. More and more it is just easier to use a third party app. So I'm gonna install Thunderbird until Apple comes up with an easy way to fix the mail app. it seems that eveything in help says you just gotta reinstall the system from scratch. I would rather just use an open source product that I can put into any forlder I want without having to worry about it screwing itself up. Had similar experience with Safari now it seems like it is time to get rid of Mail.

  • How can I send email from my yahoo alias account in iPhone5 mail?

How can I send email from my yahoo alias account in iPhone5 mail?
I have 2 email accounts: [email protected] is an alias of [email protected]
In my old iPhone3 I had these accounts set up so that I could send and receive email from both accounts. I did this using the following settings:
    ‘Other’ POP account info:
    Name: xyz
    Address: [email protected]
    Description: alias
    Incoming mail server:
    Host name: pop.mail.yahoo.com
    User name: [email protected]
    Password: password for yahoo account
    Server port: 995
    Outgoing mail server:
SMTP: smtp.o2.co.uk (o2 is the name of my phone network)
    Server port: 25
    ‘Yahoo!’ account info:
    Name: xyz
    Address: [email protected]
    Password: password for yahoo account
    Description: Yahoo!
    Outgoing mail server:
    Primary server: Yahoo! SMTP server
    Server port: 465
I’ve tried using the same settings in my new iPhone5, but it doesn’t work. I can receive mail to both accounts, and can send from the Yahoo account, but I cannot send mail from the alias account. When I try, it displays the message: “Cannot send mail. A copy has been placed in your Outbox. The recipient ‘[email protected]’ was rejected by the server”.
I’ve tried to configure the POP alias account using combinations of ‘pop.mail.yahoo.com’, ‘pop.mail.yahoo.co.uk’, ‘apple.pop.mail.yahoo.co.uk’ and ‘apple.pop.mail.yahoo.com’, for the incoming host, and ‘smtp.o2.co.uk’, ‘smtp.mail.yahoo.com’, ‘smtp.mail.yahoo.co.uk’, ‘apple.smtp.mail.yahoo.com’ and ‘apple.smtp.mail.yahoo.co.uk’ for the outgoing mail server. None of these have worked.
I’ve also tried setting it up using IMAP instead of POP without success. I tried configuring it using combinations of ‘imap.mail.yahoo.com’, ‘apple.imap.mail.yahoo.com’, ‘imap.mail.yahoo.co.uk’ and ‘apple.imap.mail.yahoo.co.uk’ for the incoming mail server and ‘smtp.o2.co.uk’, ‘smtp.mail.yahoo.com’, ‘smtp.mail.yahoo.co.uk’, ‘apple.smtp.mail.yahoo.com’ and ‘apple.smtp.mail.yahoo.co.uk’ for the outgoing mail server.
Yahoo say that if I can't send Yahoo! Mail from my mail program, I may be accessing the Internet through an ISP that is blocking the SMTP port, and that if this is the case, I should try setting the SMTP port number to 587 when sending email via Yahoo!'s SMTP server. I don't think that this is the problem, but I tried it just to make sure - without success.
I’ve also heard that the problem might have something to do with the SPF settings of my alias domain provider. I’m not too sure exactly what SPF settings are, or how to change them, but from what I can gather it seems unlikely that this is the problem given that I was able to send mail from my alias account on my old iPhone3.
Any help much appreciated: how can I get my alias account to send emails in iPhone5 mail?
    Many thanks,
    Patrick

A new development: I've tried sending emails from the alias several times over the past 24 hours, but in general I've deleted them if they haven't sent within about half an hour.
However, one of the messages I left sitting in the outbox did send successfully in the end, but this took about an hour.
So: perhaps my problem is not in fact that I am completely unable to send mail from my alias, but that I can only do so intermittently and extremely slowly, and by ignoring the "cannot send" message.
    Any help appreciated.

  • How to send ical invites to outlook

When I send an ical invite to outlook user, some users ok to accept and others return mail.dat file attachement?

    1. I didn't replace my [email protected] login with my [email protected] email. I only changed my email information to my [email protected] email. I still login with [email protected]
    2. The me card in both my local address book and the addressbook on iCloud only contains my [email protected] email.
From what I've read in other threads, changing the apple id email means deleting my iCloud account and starting over with a new login email. Apple officially says that it's not possible. But others seem to have succeed with it.
Do you know of any other solution?

  • How do I set iCal alerts to a specific time the previous day, regardless of their specific time (so I can get an overview of tomorrow)?

I think it would be incredibly useful to be able to get at, say, 10pm each evening, a pop up overview of the next day's events. I'm hoping for a tick box somewhere to set my default reminder as a specific time on the previous day, in the same way that you can do '15 minutes before'. Currently you can set reminders for a specific time and date, but, entering this for every item – especially if you want them to coincide – is more than slightly tedious. Furthermore, I input a lot of my Calender events on my iPhone (they sync via iCloud), which has no such functionality, rendering this essentially defunct.
    Any ideas?

  • How to increase the iCal Alert Popup BOX height?

I would like to be able to increase iCal's Alert popup box to show more than two concurrent alert notifications at one time.  Ideally, this popup box would dynamically size itself to the number of active alert notifications up to the available screen space.  A second less elegant solution would be to enable the user to resize the iCal Alert popup box manually.  A third  even less elegant solution would be to statically redefine a new default height in terms of either active alert notifications or pixels.  Anything would be better than the limitations currently in place...
Here is an example of three concurrent alerts.  In this case, the user must scroll down within the iCal Alert popup box to see Alert #3.

    Hi
    It's not at all possible.
If you want to use a textbox with muliple line items... you need to use Text Edit control. If you want to use that click on the following link for clear information:

  • How can i send a folder containing multiple excel file to a mail address?

    hi ,
i have report showing details sales report. Key field is customer id.  my requirement is to send the output of this report as excel file  to a mail id according to customer id. suppose there are 100 customer id , so 100 excel sheet will go to the mail. I have done it. But now  i want to send a folder or zip folder that's containing all the excel file to the mail id  so the mail user can download that folder at a time containg all the excel file. Is it possible ? if then how.  i have used cl_bcs , cl_document_bcs and if_recipient_bcs  these class and interface.
    I need your suggestion.

    Hi Sandipan,
You can use some of this classes: CL_ABAP_ZIP or CL_ABAP_GZIP
    For example:
DATA: OBJ_ZIP TYPE REF TO CL_ABAP_ZIP,
                ZIP_FILE  TYPE XSTRING.
    CREATE OBJECT OBJ_ZIP.
    OBJ_ZIP->ADD( NAME = <file_name>   CONTENT = CONTENT ).
    OBJ_ZIP->ADD( NAME = <file_name2> CONTENT = CONTENT ).
    ZIP_FILE = OBJ_ZIP->SAVE( ).
You can also visit this Otto Frost detailed post on GZIP:

    I hope that helps.

  • How can i send multiple Key note files attached in one e-mail

I've problem with mail attachment. I want to send multiple files from keynote as 4 attached in one mail. Anyone know how? Do I've to wasting time send it one by one? Your kind advice will be a lot appreciated. Thank you ;)

You can only email one file at a time from the app. Unless you can copy and paste all four files into the email, you can't do it in the Mail App either. There is a third party app called Group Email with Attachments that will allow you to do this. You will have to be running iOS 4 to attach documents I believe.

  • How do I send pictures downloaded from my camera in an e-mail

I downloaded pictures from my camera but I don't know how to send them as an attachment in an e-mail.

Depending on how you downloaded those pictures from your camera, and what OS X version you have, the most universal route is like this:
Go to Mail, create a new message via CMD+N, in that New Message window you click on the red highlighted button for "Attaching a document to this message".
A new dialog appears, where you can browse to the location you copied the photos to and select one or several photos, and then you press OK.
Another way is to go to Finder and the location you copied the photos to, select the ones you want, then dragging them onto the Mail icon on the Dock and the "New Message" window appears automatically with the photos inside.
    Is that understandable?

  • How can I send emails to a list of email addresses using mail merge  feature in Microsoft Word for Mac? It would work with the power pc but not with macbook Air

I want to send an email and personalize it to several contacts. I could always do it with my old Power PC using Microsoft Office Word for Mac but cannot access my emailoption when I use the Macbook Air. Anyone have a solution??

No way for us to know for sure (without similar product/issues) but the
HP Support site suggests that with the current Mavericks OS X 10.9.x
their drivers should be available through Apple Software Updates:
    http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Mac-Printing-and-Scanning/HP-Product-Support-using- Apple-Software-Updates-for-new-OS-X/td-p/3086229
However that may be limited to certain models of printers or scanners that
already had been known to be working under OS X as of that date in a
prior OS X (such as 10.8.5, 10.7.5, 10.6.8, etc) with earlier product support.
•Drivers and Downloads for Printers, Scanners, & More - HP Support:
    http://www8.hp.com/us/en/drivers.html
A link to Mac OS X Support's List Printer & Scanner software (HP+ Other)
•OS X: Printer and scanner software available for download
    HP Officejet t65 All-in-One Printer
{According to this page, your old printer has only Windows & Linux drivers
but you may or may not look into third-party driver support through such
    sites as Gimp; though unlikely to be available with Mavericks, or Yosemite}
    •HP Support Forum - Home:
    http://h30434.www3.hp.com/psg/?lang=en&cc=us
You may be able to get a deal on a new printer as they are rapidly obsoleted.
PS: edit to add... there was a Gutenprint driver reference for T65 Printer here:
Mac OS X 10.5: Included printer drivers
Yet a driver for ancient Leopard 10.5.x may not be suitable for Mavericks 10.9.x
but the Gutenprint lead may be helpful to locate whatever may exist; or not.

  • How to you send an item you have seen or an e-mail you have received to someone else?

Someone sends me an e-mail and I want to forward to some else

Hi LaNere, your concern is not with Firefox but with your Webmail client (are you using Gmail? Or Hotmail?). I recommend asking them for help.

  • TS4000 How can i set all my new events with a default e-mail reminder.

I only can set an alarm but not an email reminder with ical. I can make this if i set the new event through gmail but not with my mac. I used to do that but now i have to set up that personalization on each new event.
sames happens with iphone (but i never made it work with new events in iphone)

I want FF to stop trying to tell me what to do.... My issue is I understand the risks of both sides of the spectrum. Every new version is not better than the last. My issue is the idea that "I MUST HAVE THE NEWEST ADDON" is my decision to make. I'm hoping there is a means simply set FF so I manage my own addons, and it doesn't turn them off every 4 days as a new version comes out.

  • How can I change iCal's default email program for sending alerts?

Using iCal 1.5.5 with OS 10.3.9.
I have Thunderbird as my default mail client in my OS.
When I set iCal to send an alert via email it opens up Apple Mail instead of using Thunderbird which is my OS default.
Is there a way to change this so iCal will use Thunderbird?
    Thanks, Rob

I'm not positive on this and am not at my Mac right now, but I could you check if it has to do with the 'system-wide' default email client?
Follow the steps here to set the system wide email client to be Thunderbird: http://www.mariasguides.com/2007/12/21/changing-mac-os-xs-default-e-mail-applica tion/. I would quit iCal and Thunderbird first (if they are open), open Mail and complete the described steps, then open iCal and try to send an invitation.
Hopefully it works! If not, then it's not related to the default email client; my suspicion is that it would have to do with Apple simply making iCal to function this way.

  • How do I Email Report Alert?

I am trying to figure out how to email the alerts set up on a report to the user.  I have only managed to send an email that indicates an alert has been triggered.  But how do I  send the alert details in the form of an email?
    Thank you,

Thank you for your suggestion.  I do not know what platform my CR is running on.  I know that it is a Progress server but other than that I don't know.
I have downloaded 'Crystal Delivery' from the link you provided and I will see if I can figure it out from there.  I have been receiving alert notifications, however the default viewer must not be available since it does not reside on my computer's hard drive.  I will see if this works, but I am a little confused about how to set it up.  Perhaps I will know more once it is installed and I can look around.
I had actually looked into this yesterday after my post but wasn't sure if this was going to interfere with the Crystal Enterprise scheduler that is currently being used.
    Thanks again,
