Error in sending mail Using java application using SMTP.
Hi,
I have created a java application of self user registration which also sends email to the user.
I have also added two JAR files ie mail.jar and activation.jar under the PORTAL_INF/lib.
The code works well in other servers but its showing the error-
java.lang.NoSuchMethodError: com.sun.activation.registries.MailcapFile.getMailcapList(Ljava/lang/String;)Ljava/util/Map;
Thanks & Regards,
Amarys.Hi Amarys,
Please check if you have configure the mail server in SAP protal.
Refer to below documents:

Hi all,
I have a send mail button in the application and on click of which i need to open the New Message dialog of the Microsft outlook. Can anyone help me with this.
Thanks in advance
ArpanaThere is a simpler solution. See this [url http://forum.java.sun.com/thread.jsp?forum=57&thread=479041]thread. It will work for "urls" of the format mailto:[email protected] You can include ?subject=Hi as well.

How to send mail using Java Server Pages(JSP)
Plz reply me the code for it
and send me mailmegha_bhagat82: You've posted 3 ill-defined questions in the wrong forum in 4 minutes on the day you registered: I suggest you take a very close look at http://www.catb.org/~esr/faqs/smart-questions.html ... I usually avoid posting that URL to often, as it can be considered rude, but I think in your case it's appropriate.

Sometimes the mail gets send but sometimes it doesnt (while sending it to yahoo)..
i guess there is some firewall problem..
can somebody help me please.
thanksHello. I don't know if this will help you much but just reading the posts there might be something wrong with the information that is being sent to your SMTP host. You might make sure that the string that you are sending doesn't have extra characters attached to it or that a timeout is not occuring during the transfer of your username/password information. Sometimes the '@' gets translated into something else.
A 550 error usually indicates that the mail server didn't recived a valid user on the system, this came into play I believe when people start abusing SMTP to SPAM a server using everything under the sun...so filters were put in place i.e. If you are not a Qualified Domain Name registered mailserver and someone has a filter in place your message will go kersplat because forwarding is no longer being allowed. Yopu might try a diffrent tactic.
1. you might trim your strings.
2. build strings in a connect method so that its a bit less amateur code.
public void connect() {
// Display connect dialog.
ConnectDialog dialog = new ConnectDialog(this);
dialog.show();
// Build connection URL from connect dialog settings.
StringBuffer connectionUrl = new StringBuffer();
connectionUrl.append(dialog.getType() + "://");
connectionUrl.append(dialog.getUsername() + ":");
connectionUrl.append(dialog.getPassword() + "@");
connectionUrl.append(dialog.getServer() + "/");3. Make absolutely certain that the SMTP server you are sending from is registered and qualified in your code. Meaning you can't use a bogus MTA(mail trasport agent) or you get bounced.
private void sendMessage(int type, Message message) {
// Display message dialog to get message values.
MessageDialog dialog;
try {
dialog = new MessageDialog(this, type, message);
if (!dialog.display()) {
// Return if dialog was cancelled.
return;
} catch (Exception e) {
showError("Unable to send message.", false);
return;
try {
// Create a new message with values from dialog.
Message newMessage = new MimeMessage(session);
newMessage.setFrom(new InternetAddress(dialog.getFrom()));
newMessage.setRecipient(Message.RecipientType.TO,
new InternetAddress(dialog.getTo()));
newMessage.setSubject(dialog.getSubject());
newMessage.setSentDate(new Date());
newMessage.setText(dialog.getContent());
// Send new message.
Transport.send(newMessage);
} catch (Exception e) {
showError("Unable to send message.", false);
}Lastly, if you are writing a SPAM client, you should go to your dos prompt and type format c: (j/k)
now the disclaimer. The code published is not mine it was a piece of an example that I got from a brillient book by Herbert Schildt and James Holmes who I would love to be able to chat with since the work they do is absolutely perfect. You might check it out from your Local Library the ISBN is 0-07-222971-3 they have a whole section just on JavaMail.
Well hope that gets you started in the right direction, I would read the ISO standards published for SMTP, you might get a better grip on the error codes that are bound to come up. -
How do you send mail using a different email address
I have a BT yahoo mail account, (eg [email protected]) to which I have associated a domain name for my business use, (eg [email protected]). When I send a mail from my PC I can choose which email address to show in the from address, either my personal Btinternet account or my Business Name. However I don't have this option on the iPad. Has anyone else experienced this problem? And if so what's the solution.
Many thanks in advanced.
BlutoBadunit,
Thanks no I don't have both accounts set up as the Business domain name is received and issued through the btinternet mail account. I've tried to set up a second account however this will not validate because they are both through the same mail account. Or am I missing something? -

Sending mail in java using sendmail programme of lynix
Hi,
How can I send mail using Java and lynux "sendmail" programme located at i.e sendmail: /usr/sbin/sendmail.
I don't want to use JavaMail API for sending. I want to use sendmail of lynix server. Plz help me. It's very uregent.
Regards,
DevomHey Guys, here is the workaround for sending mails in java through javamail program of linux/unix:
step 1 - Create a shell script which sends the mail using the 'sendmail' program. I have written below code in my shell script:
#!/bin/sh
#script to send simple email
# email subject
SUBJECT="Test Subject"
# Email To ?
EMAIL="[email protected],[email protected]"
# Email text/message. This file will be automatically created and all text will be appended in it.
EMAILMESSAGE="/tmp/emailmessage.txt"
echo "This is a sample mai text."> $EMAILMESSAGE
echo "And this is a also." >>$EMAILMESSAGE
echo " " >>$EMAILMESSAGE
echo " " >>$EMAILMESSAGE
echo "Thanks & Regards," >>$EMAILMESSAGE
echo "--Your Name" >>$EMAILMESSAGE
mail -s "$SUBJECT" "$EMAIL" < $EMAILMESSAGE
So create this script and save it as 'sendmail.sh' name in the same directory where you are executing your main java class. Please also note that this file should have full executable permissions for the program which is using this file.
Step 2- Here is my Java code that executed this shell script:
public void sendEmail()
String operatingSystemProp = "os.name";
String operatingSystemName = System.getProperty(operatingSystemProp);
if(!operatingSystemName.startsWith("Windows"))
String cmd = "./sendmail.sh";//unix shell script
try
Runtime.getRuntime().exec(cmd);
}catch (Exception e)
e.printStackTrace();
You just need to call this method in your java code. This method will actually pick that shell script in runtime and will execute it, the rest will be handled by the shell script itself.
So this workaround works fine for me and now I am sending mails through my java program using sendmail.

Sending mails is possible by using the feature M0001. This is to be coded in the dynamic action depending on the requirement with function code "M".
Hope this would help you to explore further. Incase of any specific query you can post back.
