How do I seperate a single page out of an InDesign Document?

I've created an 8 page catalog in InDesign- now a sales rep. wants just two of the pages singly as PDF files.  What is the best way to do this?  I know I can export the whole thing as a PDF, then use Acrobat to separate the pages, or I can print to Acrobat and specify which pages will be in the document.
Is there a better way to do this directly from InDesign?

OK, I see it now.  For some reason I had it in my head that all you could do was to set the Adobe PDF Presets, then export the entire document using those presets. I wasn't paying attention when exporting.
Out of curiosity, why can you set the PDF presets seperately, when it's all there again when you are actually exporting to PDF?  What's the advantage?
Thanks

Google show that you have to cut what you want to print and then paste it into a new app and print from that app.

How do you HYPERLINK a web page address to an EXCEL document in Firefox like is possible in Explorer?

When you follow a hyperlink in Excel, usually it should open in your default browser. You shouldn't have to do anything special in Excel to create the link when Firefox is your default browser compared with IE. However, the Insert Hyperlink dialog might work differently. I think it might be able to automatically pre-populate a URL from IE, while in Firefox, you need to copy the URL from Firefox's address bar and paste it into the Insert Link dialog.

Thanks very much for your help, but I'm still overlooking something. I double checked to make sure that I did not have a hidden .txt file extention. I then decided to abandon the lock on preferences idea until I get it working. I converted my mozilla.cfg file back to plain text. I made sure I do not have an extra blank line at the end of each file. The syntax looks good, as far as I can tell. I'll copy and paste what I have so far. Did I have the file locations correct posted above? Also, if you feel i can delete some lines of text in my mozilla.cfg file I'll be happy to do so.

  • Make Data Merge import certain page of pdf or indesign document

I don't know if it is possible but can you make Data Merge import certain page of pdf or indesign document, this would be great addition for indesign

Here are a couple of questions that might help understand what might need to be done to achieve your request:
    * How do you propose to identify the desired page(s) within a PDF and an ID document, so the merge field placeholder knows how to find it?
    * How do you propose to keep track of the page if they're re-ordered in an updated document?
    * What if the identification marker is within text and flows to a different page - would you want to retrieve the original page (before the reflow) or the new page to which the marker would have flowed?
Perhaps the scripters could comment on the possibility of scripting these.

  • How do I use the single page feed on my Canon MX340?

I am trying to figure out how to feed single pages into the Canon MX340 from the slot on the top. How to make this happen?

    Hello segurry,
To feed documents into the automatic document feeder (ADF) of the printer, please follow the instructions below.
    Loading Documents in the ADF
You can load documents to copy, fax, or scan in the ADF.
Note: To scan a document at optimum quality, load it on the Platen Glass.
Make sure that any original has been removed from the Platen Glass.
Load a document in the ADF.
    Open the Document Tray.
Insert the document in the Document Tray (2) until you hear a beep sound.
Load the document WITH THE SIDE TO SCAN FACING UP in the Document Tray.
Note: When you set the alarm to be silent in Device user settings of Device settings, the alarm will not beep even if the document is inserted in the Document Tray.
Adjust the Document Guides (3) to match the width of the document.
Do not slide the Document Guides too hard. The document may not be fed properly.
    Hope this helps!

  • How do I make a single page website that scrolls like this adobe muse site?

Hi there, I'm working on this site: http://johanspeaks.businesscatalyst.com/index.html
I would like a nav bar to function and scroll through the single page like this site: http://asiercarazo.com/
I can't figure out if it's different pages, sub pages, or the same page and if it's the same page how do I get the menubar to function like that.
    Thank you for any tips!

    Hi Vinayak!
I am using the feature that you posted (anchors and pins) for my menu bar for my single page site. Preview it here: http://alexandrabenetbusinesscatalystcom01.businesscatalyst.com/index.html
I would like all of the words from the menu (ADVERTISING, GRAPHIC DESIGN, etc) to be with a lower opacity. When you reach a section, I would like the corresponding word to be bolder. So I'd like to add states. Is this possible?
Also, is it possible that my menu does not appear on my first layout? And then make it appear after?
    I would appreciate the help!
    Thanks,
    Alexandra

  • How to layout beans for single page design

Hey guys. I'm designing a site that uses the Icefaces framework. I've been reading a book called Real World Java EE patterns. I'm kind of confused how to layout the pages. Normally I would have just a POJO class implement serializable for a bean. This bean would then back each page. With a single page design I'm going to have a bunch of elements on the page. Datatables, trees, inputs, calendars etc. Is it normal or best practice to have separate beans for each datatable, calendar, etc or put that all in one bean? I'm not sure how to approach this. Right now each element is a bean and I'm using the @Inject annotation to have the data table talk to the tree and vise versa. This creates really bad code and if I put this as a member of the class I will get a circular reference because the data table bean has to inject the calendar and the calendar has to inject the data table.
    Thanks for any help.

'best' practice is to not follow blindly what other people say, but to reason yourself what works best for you. It has been stated many times before and I will state it again: best practice does not exist. Only personal opinions about what is best exist. Personal opinions are not facts.
So choose what works for you. Is the code easy to maintain? Is it readable? Can you perhaps re-use parts of it? Then I'd say you have a winner.
I'll give you my personal favorite. When working with a page that has input elements, I tend to have two or three beans. Replace XXX with a logical and context sensitive name.
XXXForm - this is a simple request scoped bean that has the action and event methods and will hold some data for reading purposes for the view, possibly taken from a database.
XXXStorage - this is a session scoped bean that holds information from the form; if it is an editing function I initialize it with the current state first. Storing this stuff in a session bean makes it very easy to do Ajax stuff and create input cycles that span multiple requests. Also when data is split in multiple pages, the storage class is the one to remember which page is being displayed.
Optionally, I also have an XXXSearch object, which is a session scoped bean that stores search/sort/filter parameters. I make this session scoped so the information is remembered for the duration of the user's visit, meaning he can navigate away from the page in question, come back and all his choices will still be in place.
So no, I don't have beans specifically for each component, although I might make simple POJOs to hold information gathered from several sources (for example, information gathered from several database tables). These beans are generally used to fill the rows of a datatable and are just created from within the form class, for example in a @PostConstruct annotated method.

  • How do I rotate a single page in a multi-page document?

I recently upgraded to Adobe Acrobat X version 10.0.0. Where is the option to rotate a single page in a multi-page document?
Also, I often receive faxes as PDF's that are upside down. How do I rotate a page so that it remains rotated the next time that I open it?
    Thanks.

    GeorgeRudd wrote:
It works (it saves the rotation) when I use the rotation method under the tools menu. Thanks.
    Yes.
Tools > Pages > Rotate permanently rotates the pages (if you save the file afterward of course) and View>Rotate view only changes the view for the current session.

  • Single Page PDF Export from InDesign?

We've just started sending our catalogs direct to the printer, rather than sending them through a pre-press house. We've fixed most of the snags, but the biggest pain right now is exporting PDFs to ship to the printer. Right now, we have to go one page at a time - open the spread, export one page, export the other page, close it and go to the next one. Needless to say, that takes a while.
I can export a PDF from the book file. That part is simple enough. But what I would love is to export from my book file and wind up with a PDF broken up into individual pages, which I could then simply upload to the printer. I know I could export the book PDF, then open the book in Acrobat and break it out a page at a time, but that's nearly as prone to errors as the longer way.
I'm thinking a custom script for Acrobat might do this work for me, but I don't know.
If anyone knows how to make this work, it would save us a ton of time.

Where would the loss in quality come into play? You have the opportunity to open the pdf with all inherited settings, including dpi and bit depth. I've experienced much larger file sizes, but never a loss in quality. My experience would come from creating indesign documents where the images in the book are Photoshop psds or smart objects. Your insight will be useful for future projects.
You've made the assumption that all content in the PDF is raster, all the same resolution, and all in the same color space. Most PDF contains both raster and vector content (like type) that is heavily degraded by opening in Photoshop, and you run a severe risk of changing solid black type to a 4-color mix that is very difficult to print, even it it isn't likely to be jaggy due to rasterization.
PDF saved from Photoshop (with preserve editing capabilities enabled) can be reopened in Photoshop without harm, but not PDF from other sources.
