Use your backup copy of your computer to put everything back on the computer.
The plug it in and sync. The current content will be replaced with content from the new computer, but the information should be the same when you use your backup to put everything back.

I too was a mobileme user and have just migrated to iCloud on mackbook pro w/OS 10.7.4. Transition caused my sent mailboxes to rearrange themselves so that I have no comprehensive 'sent' mailbox as I did previously and the view on both incoming and outgoing mailboxes keeps rearranging itself no matter how many times I set preferences. One result is that search function no longer works. Is anyone else having problems like this? If you restored as new, without using a backup, and still only get an option to restore, there is a hardware problem or the phone was previously hacked (jailbroken, downgraded iOS, unauthorized unlock). Your only option is to take it to Apple or whoever provides iPhone service in your country.

Download iTunes 11 from the Apple site and reinstall. The error message was quite plain in telling you what to do to resolve the error.

There's not much to explain. When a device is connected, you see the row of different categories across the top: Summary, Info, Apps, Tones, Music, Movies, TV Shows, Podcasts, Books, and Photos. I will agree that it is something you should only do mindfully. But if you do make sure each category is syncing to only one device, there will be no data loss and no mess.

How do I stop MacBook syncing with iPhone and iPad mini

My MacBook automatically starts to sync iPhone and iPad when I open iTunes. I only want to sync with my iMac, but MacBook seems to override what I want as default for syncing. I have under preferences device ticked box to prevent syncing but it makes no difference.
Any help would be appreciated

On the PC from the Windows Start menu, choose Control Panel > Network and Internet > iCloud.
Make sure Mail is selected.
On the iPhone and iPad tap Settings > iCloud

Hi, just to clarify - I have iOS 7.1.2 on my IPhone (as thats the latest it will support)... My iMac has iTunes 11.4. This combination of device and software has been working fine until a few weeks ago when I had to restore my Computer and Phone from a recent backup. I'm not sure if it was just coincidence, but the next time I plugged my iPhone in to sync the "sync" button on the lower right of the screen has refused to be "clickable" and now, no matter what I try, I cannot find a way of syncing my iPhone It's been four weeks now and I'm worried about the new contacts etc getting lost should anything happen. Please can someone guide me through some options? Thanks.

One thing that could cause this error message is corrupted data on the iphone or computer. Close itunes and disconnect the iphone.
Now open isync in the applications folder.
Once isync is open, open the isync preferences.
Click the button to reset sync history.
Once sync history is reset, quit isync and open itunes.
Open the itunes preferences and go to the syncing tab.
Check the box to disable automatic syncing for all ipods and iphones.
Connect the iphone and go to the info tab.
Go to the bottom of the info tab and check the box to replace all contact data on the iphone with what is in the computer.
Now click apply on the bottom right corner of itunes. If this does not work, open address book and create a new group.
Add 5 - 10 contacts to that group.
Now go into itunes with the iphone connected and set the iphone to only sync to that particular group.
if the iphone syncs ok, add some more contacts and sync again.
If the iphone does not sync, remove some of the contacts and sync again.
Keep going through this process until you narrow down which contacts are causing the problem. Hope this helps.

The appointments in Outlook are no longer syncing with my phone after installing IOS5. I've uninstalled/reinstalled iTunes. The itunes add-in in Outlook is disabled and no matter how many times I enable it, it disables. I've reset my phone. I've replaced items on this phone with calendar and nothing seems to work. How do I get my appointments on my phone to be able to sync with iCloud?

I have been syncing my Google Calendar with mine and my wife's iPhone and iCal (on my Mac) for about a year now, and it worked flawlessly...up until a few days ago.
She noticed that her iPhone calendar was completely blank, which prompted me to look at mine. Yep. Gone also. Everything is still in iCal. After fiddling around in the iPhone settings, both of our calenders seemed to magically reappear....then a few days later....gone again.
I see myself as pretty tech-savvy, yet I am perplexed. What is going on here? Is it a bug since it worked fine all this time and just stopped working?

Pages will not sync with Iphone after after Yosemite update.

after updating my iPhone and iMac to the latest software (Yosemite & iOS 8.1) there is not any syncing between the devices when I use Pages. Before the update and the move to the new system things were fine. If I edited on my phone it would show on my iMac or even my macbook.
I have given it some time because it was new but now it has been over two weeks and it is worse there is no updates at all let alone late ones.
Can someone please help me with this? im assuming there must be a fix, apple was claiming this feature was revolutionary. However, it was on the old software and worked perfectly.

My iPod Classic 80Gb won't sync with iTunes after "Restoring" to factory settings

My iPod Classic is probably about 8 years old, or maybe a little more and has never before given serious problems. Until I recently "restored" the device, the hard drive had about 40Gb of music and podcasts stored on it but no photos or videos.
The device recently just "died" completely and without warning - just a blank screen with no response from any of the controls. I rebooted it using the "Menu" and "Select" buttons and it came back to life. However as it had recently been displaying some other small issues like having to be manually ejected every time after syncing, instead of automatically saying "it is now safe to disconnect" as it always used to, I thought I'd restore it to its original factory settings and then reload my catalogue. Big mistake!
Now when I connect the device, it won't automatically sync as it always used to; and when I try to manually sync it either from the "Sync" button at the bottom right hand corner of the iTunes screen or by right-clicking on the device's icon in iTunes and selecting the "sync" option, the iTunes banner simply states "iPod sync is complete" and "Eject before disconnecting" with no data being loaded.
My computer is a Windows 7 PC running the latest version of iTunes (11.3.1.2) and the iPod device software is up to date (version 1.1.2). <my windows updates are carried out automatically. I have worked my way through the iTunes diagnostics pages, but to no avail.
Any assistance in resolving this issue would be much appreciated.

Cannot sync old iPhone after restore.

I had to restore my old iphone recently because it had amnesia about itself and basically was deactivated. Now it works but will not sync my music or anything via iTunes. When I connect it, it prompts me to restore from backup, which it does, then it goes right back to that screen and asks which backup I want to restore from over and over. What should I do to make it able to sync again?

So now I have the same problem, can you please explain what exactly I need to do to fix that, I'm not sure if I have any other restore files, can't check right now because it's restoring;) and it takes forever...

You need OSX 10.7.2 or higher in order to access icloud. The mobile me account is now defunct (it closed down more than a year ago).
