How do I set a location in Calendar

I just upgraded to Mavericks, one of the interesting new features was location in Calendar. I cannot get that to work.
Location services are enabled for Calendar.
If I type a full address into "Add location" field, it does not get saved. It is gone when I reopen the event.
While I type an address or name that is in my Contacts, I get suggestions. I cannot select any suggestion. They are not added to the location field.
Any suggests about how to get this to work?

I can do that except the Calendar App would prefer I link the location to a map or a recent address instead of the address book.   It keeps trying to enter a "pin" that is my current location.   What the app should allow me to do is link to Apple Maps where I can then auto fill the location with the address I entered on the Map.  I think Apple was over complicating this field instead of allowing a free-from of data entry.  Also, by trying to enter a comment, the App sometimes aborts back to the main interface screen.   There is obviously somekind of bug in this field.

Look on the side of your WiFi router/modem and there should be a string of numbers and letters, unless you set up a custom password when you bought it. In that case, you would probably have to call your WiFi service provider and talk to them.

• How can i set the location of my pictures in photos app for mac osx?

Not every photo I import into my MacBook have all the metadata in them. iPhoto allowed for setting the location, but in Photos I cannot manage to do so. Is there another way to do it or perhaps it's coming with an update?

Adding location data is not yet supported in Photos.
And we do not know, if future updates will  support this feature. It might help, if you send back feedback to Apple with a feature request. You can use this form:  Apple - Photos - Feedback
As a work-around, use third party apps to add location data before you import the photos to Photos.
You could, for example, first import to iPhoto, add the locations, batch change the titles and captions, do all the things that are not yet supported in the new Photos, then export the photos from iPhoto and import them to Photos.
Or use the free exiftool, if you like the Terminal.

• How do I set up multiple iCloud calendars in Outlook?

I am trying to run to two iCloud accounts in Outlook. One is my own, private, the other is a shared account for my family. The shared family account is mainly used for calendaring (shared family calendar). I have set up my private account using iCloud Control Panel. Since this can only handle one account I need to find a way to set up the family account in Outlook. I have set up an IMAP account in Outlook for the family iCloud account, but this only gives me the mail.
How do I get the iCloud calendar for the family account into Outlook? (Without using iCloud Control Panel since that would remove my private iCloud account, includig calendar)
Using Windows 8 and Outlook 2013

Interesting - I was sure I'd seen a note somewhere that it was only Mail, but this article:
http://support.apple.com/kb/ts4020
does say
Your secondary iCloud accounts can be set up and viewed in Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars on your iOS device, or Apple () menu > System Preferences > Mail, Contacts, Calendars on OS X Lion. You may choose to do this if you have a second iCloud account and need to access its Mail, Contacts, or Calendar data.
Note: While you can configure multiple iCloud Mail accounts in iOS, Push mail will only work for the primary iCloud account in iOS. Secondary account(s) will check for mail based on the settings in Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > Fetch New Data.
It's not something I can test - I suppose the second account's data gets added to the lists in iCal and Address Book?

• HT5978 How do I add custom location on Calendar?

When I type location, Calendar give me options. But I want to add custom location because all of options is incorrect. How can I do that?

Thanks...I will try importing the icons to the path indicated...guess it is not in KM afterall.
Still have a question though...are there any requirements on the icon...does it need to be a .gif file and 48x48 or can it be .jpg and a larger thumbnail size?
I'll update you after I get loaded into the indicated path and bounce the system,...thanks.

• How do I set up an exchange calendar

I am able to get my husband's work calendar on my iphone and ipad, but can't seem to set it up on my Mac Book Pro.  It is an exchange account.  It tells me I'm not using a valid email address, but the email address is correct.  Doesn't make sense to me.

I know that some exchange servers block mobile devices, but I've been using an app called "Outlook Mail Pro" (click here) on my iPad successfully with multiple Exchange accounts for a long time now. Even if your exchange server allows mobile devices, but your primary need is only email - you might want to check it out. I like being able to keep my work-related accounts in a separate app from my personal email.

• How can I set the location of iChat dialogue box on my desktop?

When I use iChat it always opens a chat box in the upper left corner of my screen. I then drag it down to the lower right, where I want it, but it doesn't remember that position when I close it and open a new box.
Is there a way to get iChat to always open the chat box in the same location where I want it?
Thanks for any help.
Greg

Hi,
Welcome to the    Discussions
This is a yes and no answer.
iChat will remember the place for Outgoing call whether they are Audio, Video or Text chats.
This is always the place the last outgoing chats was when it was Closed and Ended
Incoming Invite to be accepted are always in Standard places and cannot changed.
Text Chats are Top Left of the Screen.
Slightly lower are Audio Only chats.
Video Chat Invites are always Top Centre. (Based on the External iSight being mounted top and centre and Internal iSights being in a similar position - so that it looks like you are looking somewhat towards the camera when watching your Buddy)
Second invites when old invites are present or Chats in the case of Text chats are present will cause a sort of overlapping step effect to the left and downwards (much like any other app opening multiple windows).
If you have Developers Tools Installed you get Property List Editor
This can be used to Edit .plists
I have had little success with trying to alter the positions of windows in iChat.

• How can I set up the IOS7 calendar to show ALL DAY events on Notification Center?

Really want to see the event in the day, not only the day before.

You will need to enable file sharing in System Preferences
as well as setting up sharing and permissions for the
directories that you want shared.  You may also want to
setup a non-administrative user or allow limited guest
access.  The user would require entering a user name and
password to make the connection, but would allow remotes
to change files, if set up tat way.
As for serving iTunes media, better to post in the iTunes forum.

• How do I set download location to sd card? on galaxy s3

4.1.2

Hey garyduff12!
To Waka_Flocka_Flame: I don't mean to take over this post but I feel this way would be easier than changing/making new folders in directories.
garyduff12: Here is my way to change download location to your SD card. Press ALT click Options>and check the box that says '''Always ask me where to save files''' then click OK. You have to point your saved file to your SD card location then when you want to save another file, it should actually point to the SD card again as long as it is plugged in.
Thanks!

• How do I set up Contacts and Calendar using iCloud on a PC Office 2007 and Outlook 2010

I get a message saying, "Your setup couldn't be started because of an unexpected error". I'm using Windows 7 Professional with all updates. Mail, bookmarks, and photostream seem to be set up already.

Your data is in Outlook, in the iCloud account instead of the local (Personal Folders) account.

• Where/how do we set import location?

I don't want LR to import into my C drive/Picture - I want an alternate location - every time.
I've not seen an "Import" settings page anywhere.
Please let me know where I can make these permanent adjustments.
Much thanks `
Love this helpful forum - thanks to all who give of their time
cheers!

Yes, I think it does.
My procdures are a bit different;  I pop one card into the computer, and it copies all the files into one directory on the raid system.  I pop that out, and start it copying into the standalone backup device, and while it does that, I bring up LR and tell it to import (move) the files over.  LR never seems to remember that I had that same directory (it is only emptied, not removed), so I always have to select it again..  silly LR...
Cheers!

it doesn't do anything, stays at the same placeIt's all about context here and there are still many unknowns here that can effect your result and that you have not told us or shown us. My suggestion to you is to consider posting an SSCCE (Short, Self Contained, Correct (Compilable), Example, a condensed program similar to your current program in that it demonstrates the problem at hand, but is the smallest bit of code that still compiles and has no extra code that's not relevant to your problem. For more info on SSCCEs please look here:
Also, when posting your code, please use code tags so that your code will retain its formatting and be readable. To do this, you can will need to paste already formatted code into the forum, highlight this code, and then press the "code" button at the top of the forum Message editor prior to posting the message. You may want to click on the Preview tab to make sure that your code is formatted correctly. Another way is to place the tag
at the top of your block of code and the tag
at the bottom, like so:
// your code block goes here.
// note the differences between the tag at the top vs the bottom.
or
{code}
// your code block goes here.
// note here that the tags are the same.
{code}good luck, pete
