You could try contacting iTunes store support. If you can proove your identity to their satisfaction, such as by answering your security questions correctly, they may be able to do something for you so you can regain control of the account. Although this is an iCloud issue, I'm suggesting iTunes store support because they deal with Apple ID issues all the time. Since getting my iPad, I've had to switch the Apple ID twice and now I have a new Gmail account (old email was also Gmail). How do I sync all my apps, programs and calendars over to the new accounts? Right now I can't update old apps because the Apple ID is no longer valid and I can't get my calendar to show my new email, only the old one.

Apps are always tied to the ID with which you bought them. You cannot transfer purchased content to a new Apple ID. Are you sure that the old ID is no longer valid? Try using the old ID and password to update your apps.

You've changed everything to a new Apple ID? Like, a brand new Apple ID with no purchases, or do you mean you updated your previous Apple ID?
If you changed your old Apple ID, then go into Settings > iTunes and App Store > Your Apple ID ([email protected]) and then log out. Then log in using the updated information (i.e. your new email).
If you are using a brand new Apple ID, you are going to have to redownload/repurchase the apps.

Crashed hard drive with Itunes - How do I set up new computer and Ipod

My hard drive crashed. I did have a backup of my Itunes folder. I installed Itunes on the new computer, copied the folders over from the backup and everything is OK in Itunes, but I can't play any of the tunes that were purchased from Itunes. It says the computer is not authorized. I went through and authorized each tune, and I also authorized the computer globally.
I set up my playlists again, etc.
When I went to synch the IPOD, the only thing that copies over are the tunes that had been uploaded from CD"s. Everything else is gone from the Ipod.
I tried to call support...but I couldn't understand the accent so decided to call back later.
any suggestions for what I might do next?

For songs previously purchased from the iTunes Store, you can download them again to your new computer at no cost. In iTunes, go to the iTunes Store Home screen. Sign in (if you are not already) using the Apple ID used to make those purchases. Click on Purchased, under QUICK LINKS. On the Purchased screen, you can find and download previous purchases (that are not already in that iTunes library).
Then, sync your shuffle to that library, as desired.

To set up Mac OS X Mail to receive MobileMe mail:
If you’re using Mac OS X version 10.4.11 or later
Open System Preferences (under the Apple icon at the upper-left of your computer screen).
Click MobileMe (if you have Mac OS X version 10.5.3 or later), or .Mac (if using version 10.4.11 to 10.5.2), and enter your MobileMe member name and password.
Open Mac OS X Mail, choose Mail > Preferences, and then click Accounts.
Click the Add button at the lower-left of the Accounts pane. Choose MobileMe from the Account Type pop-up menu, and then enter your account information.
The member name and password you use for SMTP authentication must match the member name and password in the User Name and Password fields.

You can add up to three 'email aliases' - these are additional addresses (not accounts) which deliver into the same inbox as the main account. (In fact it's a good idea to give out alias addresses, rather than the main address, because if they attract spam you can easily change them.) I would create a NEW account using these instructions. Make sure you follow the instructions. Many do not and if you do not you will not get the None option. You must use an email address that you have not used with Apple before. You have to do it in your mane if he is not yet 13.

Did you create a NEW Apple ID or did you change the email address for your OLD Apple ID? This will affect how you update apps in the future.
Anyway, go to Settings/iTunes&App Stores, log out, then log in with the new ID.
