How do I set event name to folder name?

Outside of iPhoto, I keep all my sequenced images in various folders which start with a date like yyyymm Birthday Party. This nomenclature goes back to my PC days.
When I batch import a number of folders, say 15, into iPhoto I first select all the images and go to the Photo tab and do a batch change to ensure that title = filename.
I can't find a way to do event = folder to ensure that the events sort in the same way inside iPhoto as they do outside. If I select Events in the upper left corner under Library, the events are presented in the same sequence as outside iPhoto. Scrolling over each I can tell that the titles are the same as the filenames and are sequenced OK. However, when I select Photos the events are jumbled and not in the sequence anticipated (but the titles are OK within each). The Photos presentation suits my needs better but only if the events sort as the folders did outside iPhoto.
Help please.

Sorting in Photos is sorting of Photos not sorting of Events. You can't sort on Events in the Photos view.
If the exif data is present in the files you're making a lot of unnecessary work for yourself trying to make a Photo Manager work like a file manager.

In OS 10.6.8, how do I set-up a Shared folder to automatically grant read & write access to all new MS Office files? Older files are fine. But, when new files are created and saved by one registered user, those files are "read-only" when opened by a different registered user, even though the permissions that are on the "Shared Folder" are read and write for each of the registered user groups. Can't this be changed somehow? The computer is used by two different work groups and some of the WORD or PPTX files are shared by both both work groups and are in the /users/shared folder when one of the user groups creates a new file and saves it to the Shared folder, it can't be edited unless saved with a different name. I need to be able to fix this. I assume it's an Office problem. If I can fix using terminal commands, please be detailed.

In that account, enable 'Look For Shared Libraries'. Your Library will appear in the other source pane.
Any user can drag a pic from the Shared Library to their own in the iPhoto Window.
Remember iPhoto must be running in both accounts for this to work.
If you want the other user to have the same access to the library as you: to be able to add, edit, organise, keyword etc.
Quit iPhoto in both accounts. Move the Library to the Users / Shared Folder
(You can also use an external HD set to ignore permissions, a Disk Image or even partition your Hard Disk.)
In each account in turn: Double click on the Library to open it. (You may be asked to repair the Library Permissions.) From that point on, this will be the default library location. Both accounts will have full access to the library, in fact, both accounts will 'own' it.
However, there is a catch with this system and it is a significant one. iPhoto is not a multi-user app., it does not have the code to negotiate two users simultaneously writing to the database, and trying will cause db corruption. So only one user at a time, and back up, back up back up.

May be a rude way .. but it works.
Add narrative view and use Java script to change the column headings based on the variables.

Mac OS X does not natively include a method for passwording only selected folders. You can either get a third-party utility such as Knox (from AgileBits) or you can create an encrypted disk image (using Disk Utilty) and keep the files you wish protected in that disk image.

How can I set a name for a unknown place without moving it?

I imported some photos with GPS information into iPhoto. I can see these photos on the map with one pin per photo, but every pin is tagged with "unknown place". All the photographs were taken on the same island, so I want to add the name of this Island to all pins.
When I enter the name of the place, iPhoto doesn't know it (it seems like the built-in database is very small), so I have to go to the Google view. There I find the Island and can create a new place, but when I confirm it all photos will move to one pin which was defined in google - the original location is lost (and there is no undo function!!!).
Questions:
1. How can I assign a name to a pin without moving the pin?
2. How can I restore the original place stored in the exif-information of the file?

Thanks for your answer, after playing around another while I understand that using GPS-data or Places are two things which cannot be used together in a reasonable way.
Either I use the GPS pins, then they are at the right place, but then I just have the pins on the map without any names or grouping information.
Or I create places - I can create one place per photo, but then I would have to manage around 10.000 places in a simple list view. So if I go on a city trip and take 100 photographs with GPS, then I either have to create 100 places, just to see the name of the city above the pin, or i have to group them to one single pin in the middle of the city. I think both doesn't make sense.
Let's hope there are some improvements in upcoming versions.
BTW: To go back to the original GPS-location is very easy. Just remove the assigned place by clicking on the 'x', then the GPS-location is used again immediately.

I am using Reports 10g and I managed to send PDF reports by email, specifying the recipient, subject, format etc, using the reports servlet URL.
But there is one thing that I cannot find a way to do: I want to dynamically set the name of the attached file. It defaults to the name of the RDF file (eg monthly_sales.pdf). I would like it to be something more meaningful (eg monthly_sales_072010.pdf, where 072010 is the month and year passed by parameters).
Is it possible to do it?

Our application will host several domains at once. Each domain will get its own set of database tables for each module it uses. We keep them seperate by using a unique prefix. An example would be domainA.com's blog post table would be called domainA_blogPost, while domainB.com's will be domainB_blogPost. Both tables are the same, except for the name. The name needs to be specified at runtime since the central service controller tells the rest of the application which domain it is servicing and thus which set of tables to use. We will be adding domains dynamically all the time and we can't afford to create new entity sets and recompile the back end for every domain we add. I have been looking at the API and wonder if this is as simple as implementing a solution in our application, or am I going to have to tweek the implementation of toplink?

How do you set up an email folder with a different name on IPad mini with IOS7

On my computer I have serveral different folders to separate mail as it comes in. How do I do this on my IPad mini IOS 7? There seems to only a very limited number of folders I can use and cannot change their names. Is there a way to separate my incoming mail on my mini IPad as I do on my IMAC?

You can only create folders in the mail app on the iPad if you have an IMAP email account. If your email account was an IMAP account, those folders would have already synced to the iPad. If they are not already on the iPad, your account isn't IMAP and you can't create folders.
The folders that you created on the iMac are for local storage and organization only. The Mac Mail App allows you to do that. There is no such feature for the mail app on the iPad.
Just to be sure and as a double check ..... If you go to your email account in the Mail app and look at the window where your inbox, trash folder and sent folder are - if there is an Edit button at the top of the window - tap that and then tap Add Mailbox at the bottom.
If the Edit button is not there - you cannot create folders on the iPad. Your email account is not IMAP. Only IMAP email accounts can create folders on the iPad. Any folders that you would already have in an IMAP account would sync to the device as well.

How to use FPM event in Launchpad Folder

Hello Experts,
We have a requirement in which we want to navigate to the Service on clicking the folder name of the launchpad. As this folder is going to have only one service inside it , it does not make any sense to go inside the folder and then access the service by clicking on the service link.
Do you have any suggestions how we can do this.
I was expecting that we can use the 'FPM Event ID' of the Launchpad folder for this , but now sure how to use it.
Please let me know how we can do this , and if this can be done by 'FPM Event ID' how to do that.

How to get set file name for MessageFileUploadBean in Advanced Table

I have a MessageFileUpload item in a advanced table. My requirement is to show file names instead of view when user uploads files. I know how to do this if the item is not inside advancedtable (by using uploadBean.setAttributeValue(DOWNLOAD_FILE_NAME,displayNameBoundValue).
But how to get the different ID's when inside a advanced table?

There does need to be an email address in the From field. You can do something like this to show the company name and an email address in the From:
Initech, Inc. ${Contact.Owner Email Address}
