How do I set google bar to google.co.uk?

That's pretty much it really.
In the google search bar top right. How do I set it it google uk?

Hi guys,
This is how you can set Google Bar to google.co.uk. It's like hardwiring it into the application.
Please note that I used this method on safari 3.0.4. I guess it works fine with any 3.x.x version but not sure if it will work on previews versions as well.
The Method:
1. Take a backup of Safari (goto Applications and make a copy of Safari somewhere safe)
2. Make sure you have taken backup of Safari!
Quit Safari.
3. Goto Applications > Safari
Right click and choose "Show Package Contents"
A new Finder window opens up.
In that window goto Contents > MacOS
Right click on "Safari" and select "Open With" > "Other..."
From the menu choose "TextEdit" and click on "Open"
4. Now you see a page full of not-so-easy-to-understand text.
In this page search for:
http://%@.google.com/%@?q=%@&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8
Replace this string (there are two occurrences) with the following:
http://%@.google.co.uk/%@?hl=en&q=%@&a=0000000
NOTE 1: You better use the "Replace & Find" function.
NOTE 2: MAKE SURE YOU DONT MESS AROUND WITH ANYTHING ELSE AND THAT YOU DONT DELETE ANY CHARACTERS AROUND THE STRING BY MISTAKE.
5. Save the file (from the Application Menu choose "File" > "Save")
NOTE: Do it exactly the way I said: goto to "File" > "Save". DONT click on the red close button and then save.
6. Now open Safari. Hopefully it opens. If not then you've done something wrong!
Try the Google Bar and walla it works.

I found this method on a website (http://www.macosxhints.com/article.php?story=20030514035516436) but it dint work for me so I had to alter some bits of it to work with Safari 3.0.4. If you want some general tips on this method visit the original page.

Whose mistake? The source of the problem:

In addition, with two-step verification turned on, only you can reset your password, manage your trusted devices, or create a new recovery key.
Apple Support can help you with other aspects of your service, but they will not be able to update or recover these three things on your behalf.
If you aren't responsible enough to do that, you should not have turned the optional security feature on.
This is your fault, not Apple's.

How do I set google mail as my default rather than apple mail

Hello All - Stumped at how to avoid having Mail be the default - which seems to be the default of choice on my desktop. However I do not really use Mail, but rather gmail. Unsure of how to go about this, since I do not have a reader for my gmail. Thanks to all you know - Carlyle

You could try gmail Notifier for Mac. Text below from link (Frequently asked Questions).
Making Gmail your default mail application
You can designate Gmail as your default mailto handler. This means that when you click on any hyperlinked email address, a Gmail compose window will open so you can send a message to that address from Gmail.
To do so in Windows:
Download the Gmail Notifier.
Right-click the Notifier icon in your system tray, and select Options.
Check the box next to Use Gmail for internet mailto: links.
Click OK.

Version 3.6.13 - How can I set Google up as a default search engine?

Google does not appear in my default search engines. I cannot figure out how to add it. Amazon.com, among others, appears as a default. What is going on and why can I not add Google.

How do I set Google as the default search engine in the URL search field (now have Yahoo)?

I'd like Firefox to use Google as the default search engine for the URL search field, instead of Yahoo as I currently have. I've tried to find a place to reset this in Preferences but can't find a solution. Would be very grateful for any advice. Imagine it's simple.
NB: I'm talking of the left search field, not the right search engine one where it's easy enough to define.

But its taking time to download and play the intro when we try to access it.
I have seen many sites with progress bar indicating the status on the downloading of flash items.

How do I set menu bar headings?

I am operating on XP. I no longer have the menu bar headings: file, edit, view, history, tools, and help displayed at the top of the page. I have "toggled" the tool bar but nothing appears. I have tried to query the knowledge base to no avail. Can anyone help?

It is a while since I used XP. It will display the Firefox button but is designed to operate best with the standard menu bar from what I remember.

You should also be able to see the menubar toolbar even if the Firefox button is present by holding down the Alt key, does that happen ?
If you are unable to get the menu to appear you may need to reset the controls for the menubars, either use the firefox reset (that will get rid of any extensions you have),or just delete the ''localstore.rdf'', that just rsets customisations and is the better option,even if not quite as simple to do.

I use Google for my email server. When I am searching the web on Firefox, I want to reply to a "Contact Me" prompt from the website.....in that case, how do I set Firefox up so that it replies via Google and not Microsoft outlook?

Click on Tools at the top of the page and go to Options; choose the Applications tab. Scroll down until you see "mailto" on the left, under Content type (or type it in the Search box) then click to the right on "Use Microsoft Outlook (default)". A scrolling box will open up giving you different choices.

If you read [[How do I customize the toolbars?]], you can find the customize box. Simply drag the Google search bar into this box, and it will be gone :)
