How can I set home page for a new tab? how can i get firefox to open the home page every time i open a new tab in Windows vista home basic??
    == This happened ==
    Every time Firefox opened

Firefox can have multiple home pages if you wish. Each home page that will open when starting Firefox is separated by the "|" character.
    See: http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/How+to+set+the+home+page
To have new tabs open a specific web site, add one of the following extensions:

  • How do I delete home directory /Library/Preferences/Macromedia/Flash\Player ?

    How do I delete<home directory>/Library/Preferences/Macromedia/Flash\Player?

Note that it'll be created over every time you load a Flash object in a Web browser (at least if it has Flash enabled).
The only way to consistently get rid of all its content would be to create an AppleScript, or use Automator to create a workflow that would empty this folder when you close the browser.

  • How do I change home directory name?

In FINDER, the home directory name is from an old employee. How can I change it?

Log out and then into a different user account, or create one from System Preferences. If so desired, control-click the account in the Accounts or Users & Groups pane of System Preferences, choose Advanced Options, and change the name and home properties; if the computer happens to be running Mac OS X 10.4, the instructions are significantly different.

  • How to change users home directory home folder name?

Is there a way in Mountain Lion to simply change the name of the home directory home folder name without it throwing off anything else for that particular user?
I read the article about 'Enabling and using the "root" user', but it specifically says for 'Lion' and not 'Mountain Lion'
When I get to step 8 there is no clear place to enter an adminstator account name and password so I can't go any further.
I also did a quick test with a newly created user and after setting some preferences and customizing the desktop, I changed the home directory name and I pretty much lost all my preferences after logging back in. It's as if changing the home directory name in any way shape or form literally wipes out the previous user and you have to start anew.
I don't want to risk changing the home directory name and end up losing essentially my whole user setup, but I really want a different name for my home directory and I don't want anything else to change. Is this possible?
    Thanks

    Hi Blastic,
I'm trying to do the same thing.  I did follow Apple's instructions and while they are easy to follow.....I was unable to rename the folder as described  (clicking on it or pressing enter).  I did enable root user, I did log out and re-log in as root user.....and I got stopped.  I simply could not rename the folder as per Apple's instructions and ther is NOTHING on the internet about it......save for your beacon of light!  Thanks for the post.  I'm using 13 inch MacBookPro Mid 2010 2.4 GHz, Intel Core 2 Duo, 8GB ram, OS 10.8

  • Help please..how to specify Oracle Home directory for create AS connection

I have linux based application server 10g having IP 121.100.115.2 and name as10g.ourdomain.com (/home/oracle/OraHome_2 is AS directory)
I have developed a simple jsp page using JDeveloper10g. In order to deploy this project, I am trying to create Application Server Connection using wizard.
    step1:
    connection name: as10g
    connection type:oracle application server 10g
    step2:
    user name: ias_admin
    password: mypassord
    step3:
enterprise manager OC4J host name: 121.100.115.2
enterprise manager OC4J http port: 1156
Remote Server's Oracle home directory: /oracle/OraHome_2
    step4
    RMI Server URL: ormi://121.100.115.2:23791
    RMI username: admin
    RMI password: {blank}
    step5
When I click on test button I get this error:
Test failed (-2). Invalid Oracle Home directory

When you create the stand alone, in options you can actually set the temp directory and default directory. You can change it there OR in goto options and check for libraries/directories. You can change it there too.
Kudos always welcome for helpful posts

  • How do I access photos via the Media browser in iPhoto '08?

I have used Pages several times before for an in-house newsletter--with good success. My last newsletter was done in the version of Pages contained in iWork '06 and with photos contained in iPhoto library from iLife '06. Now I am using the version of Pages from iWork '08 and photos from my iPhoto library in iLife '08. When I am in Pages and open the Media Browser, I can see all the photos in various Events. How do I select/choose a particular photo within an Event and drag it to an image placeholder in my Pages document?

My Media Browser shows Events or Images. See below and see if yours is the same:

  • How do I set firefox as the default browser in Windows Server 2012 Group Policy Editor?

Hello, I am unable to set firefox as the default browser despite multiple different attempts to do so using group policy.
    I have:
    - Set a registry command (targeted at 32/64 via a WMI query) to reset the opening command as shown below:
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Classes\http\shell\open\command
    "C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe" -osint -url "%1"
    - Set a powershell logon script to run (that does run):
    firefox.exe -silent -setDefaultBrowser
Despite setting the above it seems the client computers browsers are not affected by the settings above. When the script runs or if I run the command above a UAC window pops up and requests that I accept the command (for the setDefaultBrowser) but even if I click yes as an administrator it does nothing.
Since GPO in 2012 has changed perhaps there is something that I am missing? Do I need to somehow disable Windows Internet Explorer from achieving default browser status?
Please do not reply if you will suggest that I use Internet Explorer Maintenance (since this function in GPO has been disabled since IE10)
My DC is Server 2012, my client computers are Win7 32/64.

The above reply does not take into account that I am trying to use GROUP POLICY EDITOR to make it the default browser.

  • How do I set Firefox a my primary browser on my Android

I want to set firefox as the primary browser but i can't find it in the settings

Is Chrome your current default browser? If you go into setting > Apps and find Chrome, you can tap into its settings and look for the Launch by Default section and click "Clear defaults". The next time you hit a link, Android should ask you to choose your preferred app to handle it.
    Success?

  • How do I set up directory alias in Tomcat 4.0.3?

    Hello!
    Let's say I want to map http://my.ip.address/photos
to the folder c:\my documents\photos on my hard drive.
How do I tell Tomcat that I want make this mapping?
    Thank you in advance.

I can't remember the exact syntax, but you do it using the <context> tag in the Server.xml file. Look for the server.xml file in the "conf" or "bin" directory. Try doing a google search on the context tag and you should get an example.

  • Using File Object in JavaFX 2.2 to set home directory

Am I going bongers or what? Or is there a bug? Has anyone had this problem with the following line:
File dir = new File(getClass().getResource(".").getFile()); <-- this line is the culprit
    Choose.setInitialDirectory(dir);
causing your programme to crash and generate the following error:
    java.lang.NullPointerException under JavaFX 2.2?
I know it worked perfectly fine under JavaFX 2.1. So what's changed?

    My guess.
With JavaFX 2.1 you were using NetBeans 7.1
With JavaFX 2.2 you are using NetBeans 7.2
Under NetBeans 7.1 the default for JavaFX projects was to run the compiled classes from the file system.
Under NetBeans 7.2 the project can no longer be run from the file system, only from a jar which NetBeans builds using the JavaFX packaging tasks.
When you run a java program from classes off the file system the getResource call will use the file: protocol. Under this protocol directory specifiers like . and .. are valid.
When you run a java program from a jar the getResource call will use the jar: protocol. Under this protocol directory specifiers like . and .. are invalid.
So your upgrade of your NetBeans version just exposed an existing bug in your program which you were unaware of.
If you packaged the same program as a jar and tried to run the jar with a JavaFX 2.1 runtime environment you would have got the same error.
