How do I set mouse to open files with double click instead of right click and enter open option every time ?

Open with a double-click is the default.
To get it to work properly, adjust the double-click speed [ Slow <---> Fast ] until your "natural" double-click motion is recognized as a valid Double-click.
Threshold set too fast and your natural motion will not be seen as a Double click.
Set too slow and things like an impatient second click for selection will be mistakenly seen as a double-click instead.

When you say "could not be opened"- what are you referring to? A double click of the mouse should view the clicked image in Loupe view- the same as pressing [E] on the keyboard for an enlarged view. (And a second double-click will take you back to library grid view.)
To "open" an image in the Development module requires you to select the image then press [D] or click on the [Develop] button.
When you say "could not be ...moved" -what are you referring to? Are you trying to move an image file from its place in a folder to another folder? Are you just wanting it in a collection? When you drag an image to a collection you are only placing a link to the image in the collection- not actually moving any file. The image will stay exactly where it is in its original folder and will remain as a thumbnail preview in the Library Grid view.
Are you having any "mouse" problems that may be changing its actions in LR ?
Do you see an exclamation mark on any image borders ?

I just downloaded something from the internet and ASK is now my default page when I open up a new tab. I managed to set what page I wanted when I open up the browser, but when I am in the browser and I click NEW TAB it goes back to ASK. Any ideas?

You may need to remove an Ask extension. You can check on the Add-ons page:
Tools menu > Add-ons
In the left column, click Extensions, then disable/remove unwanted (or unrecognized) extensions.
The actual address for the new tab page is a hidden setting. To adjust it:
(1) In a new tab, type or paste '''about:config''' in the address bar and press Enter. Click the button promising to be careful.
(2) In the search box that appears above the list, type or paste '''newtab''' and pause while the list is filtered
(3) Double-click the '''browser.newtab.url''' preference and enter the desired value:

Photoshop CS1 files not opening with a double click?

I'm not sure if this is an Adobe related issue, but I recently installed Tiger on my 2005(white/1.33ghz/PPC G4) ibook. With Panther, and with every other OS/application, I was able to double a Photoshop File and have Photoshop open along with the file. Here's what happens now: I double click the photoshop file (any photoshop cs1 file), Photoshop opens, but my file doesn't open. I have to find the file and open it from the menu bar in order to access it. This is very annoying for me as I open Photoshop files more than anything. Here's what I've done: I got info on the Photoshop file to make sure Photoshop CS1 is selected as the host application. Check preferences and settings in Photoshop, (didn't find anything related though, but everything is the way they were when I was on Panther. Possible Obstructions: I also have Photoshop 6 on 0S 9 installed on my computer. I have many filters on this version that I don't on CS1. I don't think this is the reason but I could be wrong. Any help with this issue would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Except Adobe tells you to reinstall Photoshop (or least that has been their recommendation), which is completely unnecessary. The problem is that this is missing when you do a system upgrade:

Reinstalling Photohop will, of course, create the ScriptingAdditions folder and place the "Adobe Unit Types" file inside it. If you still have your Previous System folder, or a backup of it, or access to another machine with Photohop installed, you can simply put the ScriptingAdditions folder into your /Library folder. If not you can create the ScriptingAdditions folder yourself (note there is NO space in the name), then download and unzip this:

and put the "Adobe Unit Types" into the ScriptingAdditions folder.

Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.
"Clear the Cache":

You can remove all data stored in Firefox from a specific domain via "Forget About This Site" in the right-click context menu of an history entry ("History > Show All History" or "View > Sidebar > History") or via the about:permissions page.
Using "Forget About This Site" will remove all data stored in Firefox from that domain like bookmarks, cookies, passwords, cache, history, and exceptions, so be cautious and if you have a password or other data from that domain that you do not want to lose then make a note of those passwords and bookmarks.
You can't recover from this 'forget' unless you have a backup of the affected files.
It doesn't have any lasting effect, so if you revisit such a 'forgotten' website then data from that website will be saved once again.

Wireless mouse only open files on double click but will not move curser

My wireless mouse is pairing properly with my computer. It willl open files when I use the touch pad to move the curser onto the files and then click on them with the mouse.
But the wireless mouse will not move the curser on its own. So essentially, it half works. Have gone through this with help desk. We re-paired mouse with computer, checking that Bluetooth is functioning, etc; turning off and restarting. Evew blew on back of mouse to remove any dust. All appears to be in order, not mouse unfortunately. Normal wired mouse works fine. I have only today had a new HD installed. Everything else is working fine. Any ideas to get mouse moving again.

Yes - I took the batteries out. There's a little switch under the cover (marked "+" and "-") but I'll be darned if I know what that does. Took the batteries out and waited about 5 seconds.
I think I might have been having trouble because I had the mouse mated with a G4 laptop I replaced with a MacBook Pro, and both were on the desk together for a while. Now that the G4 is gone, I haven't been experiencing the problem. If you use multiple Bluetooth (Blueteeth?) devices you might want to make sure the mouse is only trusted on one.

There is no plus sign and going into optins and changing settings has not worked. I have uninstall FF and reinstall-keeping my personalization-and that was no help.
Right clicking on FF Icon to open a new tab, or going up to FF drop down tab and clicking on new tab both do not work.
Help everything opens a new window not a new tab. there seems to be no way to reset this or to chose a different optin. I just downloaded new tabs at end addon and it didn't do a thing.

You have 2 versions of Pages on your Mac.
Pages 5 is in your Applications folder.
Pages '09/'08 is in your Applications/iWork folder.
You are alternately opening the wrong versions.
Pages '09/'08 can not open Pages 5 files and you will get the warning that you need a newer version.
Pages 5 can open Pages '09 files but may damage/alter them. It can not open Pages '08 files at all.
Pages 5 can not open Pages 5.1 files and you will get the warning that you need a newer version.
Once opened and saved in Pages 5 the Pages '09 files can not be opened in Pages '09.
Anything that is saved to iCloud is also converted to Pages 5 files.
All Pages files no matter what version and incompatibility have the same extension .pages.
Pages 5 files are now only compatible with themselves on a very restricted set of hardware, software and Operating Systems and will not transfer correctly on any other server software than iCloud.
Note: Apple has removed over 90 features from Pages 5 and added many bugs:

I am unable to determine which operating system you are using on your MacBook. Your profile lists iOS 5, but iOS5 is for an iPod Touch, iPhone, or iPad, not MacBook.

These instructions are for a Mac using OS X 10.6 "Snow Leopard" but the process is very similar with OS X 10.5 Leopard.
Here's one way:
Open Finder by clicking on the icon in the lower left corner of your Dock.
Under Places in the left column, click on the 'House' icon in the left column. It probably has your name after it.
That will open a list of file folders and files in the right column.
Click on the Downloads folder.
Clicking on the Name column heading in the right column will sort the file list by that column.
Clicking on the column heading a second time will sort the file list in reverse order.
Locate the file you want.
Single click on the filename and press the space bar to preview many types of files, including documents, spreadsheets, and images.
To open the file, double-click on the filename.
If the file has the extension .dmg, it is a disk image file (program to be installed) and will open the file installer dialog. You will likely need to enter your Administrator password to install the program.
